Kitazawa smiled. As expected of his personal Anbu, she really was thoughtful.
His mind returned to the issue of Jinchuriki candidates.
First, he ruled out Hinata and Neji. Both already possessed the Moon-Chasing Bow and the Life Feather Bow. Each bow housed a Yin Release monster, making them equivalent to half a tailed beast on their own. On top of that, the two of them would obtain the Tenseigan in the future, so there was even less need for them to become Jinchuriki.
Kitazawa’s thoughts drifted to the seven ninja teams that had graduated from the Genius Class. Ideally, every team should have at least one Jinchuriki.
Team 1 was Kurama Yakumo, Karin, and Inuzuka Kiba.
Kurama Yakumo didn’t need a Tailed Beast at all. Her chakra reserves were already on par with half a Tailed Beast; she practically never ran out. In the original story, a Yin Release monster called Ido had been born within her. Combined with her genjutsu kekkei genkai, which rivaled the Mangekyo Sharingan, there were few in the entire ninja world who could match her.
That left Karin and Kiba. Between the two, Kitazawa eventually chose Karin.
Karin was already a medical intern and sealing specialist; her support ability was more than sufficient. Giving her a tailed beast would raise her combat capability to match. And as a member of the Uzumaki clan, she was naturally suited to becoming a Jinchuriki of Kyuubi.
Of the remaining Tailed Beasts, there were the One-Tails, Two-Tails, Four-Tails, Five-Tails, and Six-Tails.
Team 3 was Shikamaru, Ino, and Choji.
He skipped over Team 2 entirely, since that was Kakashi’s squad. Kakashi was already the Three-Tails’ Jinchuriki; assigning another Jinchuriki to that team would be wasteful.
Kitazawa stroked his chin. He planned to give the Two-Tails to Ino. The Two-Tails, Matatabi, took the form of a blue cat. As for his reasoning... it was probably just that the cat ears and tail from Partial Tailed Beast Transformation suited a girl more.
Team 4 consisted of Kimimaro, Tayuya, and Jugo. For this trio, it didn’t particularly matter who received a Tailed Beast. After a moment of thought, Kitazawa decided on giving the Five-Tails to Kimimaro. That way, it would further raise the upper limit of his strength.
Team 5 was Rock Lee, Hotaru, and Haku.
The biggest advantage of becoming a Jinchuriki was near-infinite chakra. But Rock Lee wasn’t a good fit. The Eight Gates alone brought an explosive surge of chakra, and since Lee had almost no talent for ninjutsu, giving him more chakra would be a bit of a waste.
Kitazawa finally settled on Haku for this team, assigning him the Six-Tails.
That left only the Four-Tails and One-Tails.
Team 6 already had Neji, and Team 7 went without saying. Kitazawa narrowed down the last two candidates to Yakushi Kabuto, Uchiha Izumi, and Aburame Torune—three of his own students.
In the end, he chose Kabuto and Torune. The reasoning was similar to Kimimaro’s: it would raise his potential ceiling. With the power of the Four-Tails added to his Sage Mode, Yakushi Kabuto would instantly become one of the strongest shinobi in the ninja world and Torune would be the best support for his new teammate with his unique abilities and Shukaku’s sealing abilities.
