Reincarnation Of The Legendary Sword Saint

Chapter 122: The Prophecy of a God

"Every Hero is summoned with a Holy Sword."

"As you all know, Holy Swords are the natural enemies of demons."

"But because the current Demon Lord inherited the holy blood of an Archangel, the Holy Sword’s divine power has little to no effect on him."

The classroom fell completely silent.

Stella slowly raised her hand.

"Yes?" Luna said.

Stella stood up with a gentle smile.

"Ma’am... I’ve heard parts of this story before."

"But... is the first Fallen Archangel dead?"

"The one who raised the demons to become stronger than humanity... is he still alive?"

Luna shook her head.

"From everything I’ve heard..."

"He isn’t dead."

"He was severely wounded by the Heroes countless times."

"He was even sealed away for a period."

"But somehow..."

"He always returned."

"There were several Demon Lords who ruled after him before the current one."

"They all died."

"But the Fallen Archangel never did."

She looked out the classroom window.

"He is still alive."

"Although..."

"I’ve heard he has become incredibly weak compared to what he once was."

"And not only that, every nation has completely withdrawn from launching attacks against the demons. No kingdom is willing to challenge the Demon Lord anymore."

Luna’s voice became heavier.

"Every nation is now conserving its remaining resources. Attacking the Demon Realm is nothing more than a death sentence."

She looked around the classroom.

"Already, all seven great nations have stopped summoning Heroes for the purpose of defeating the current Demon Lord."

The students listened in silence.

"To them, sending newly summoned Heroes now would be meaningless. Instead, every nation keeps any Heroes they summon, hoping that if the day finally comes when humanity is forced into an all-out war, those Heroes will at least be able to buy everyone some time."

She paused before continuing.

"But let’s go back a little further."

"Long before the current half-Archangel, half-Demon Lord came into power, there was already a prophecy that foretold everything."

"It was written more than a hundred years ago by a saint named Lilia."

The students immediately became interested.

"Lilia was one of the greatest saints of the Holy Church. She claimed that every prophecy she recorded came directly from the deity the Church worshipped."

"Throughout her life, she made countless prophecies, and every single one eventually came true."

"However, she is no longer alive."

Luna sighed.

"When she completed this prophecy, she handed it to the leaders of the Church."

"They dismissed it."

"They believed it was impossible."

"Even after she died, nothing happened for many years, so everyone eventually forgot about it."

She closed her eyes briefly.

"But later... everything began unfolding exactly as she had written."

"The rise of the current Demon Lord."

"The deaths of every summoned Hero."

"The suffering of humans, elves, dwarves, beastkin, and every other race."

"The prophecy described it all."

The classroom had become completely silent.

"But the prophecy also spoke of one way to defeat him."

She looked at every student one by one.

"At the time, everyone thought it was absurd."

"It said that somewhere among humanity lives a deity..."

"A human who has already reached the power of a god."

"No one knows whether that part of the prophecy is true."

"But after everything else came to pass exactly as Lilia predicted..."

She paused.

"...many people are no longer willing to dismiss it."

Luna smiled faintly.

"Well... whatever happens, happens."

"That was all I wanted to tell you today."

"There won’t be any practical lessons today. I simply wanted all of you to understand the world you’re living in."

She picked up her book.

"Class dismissed."

With those final words, Luna turned around and quietly walked out of the classroom. The room remained silent long after she had left, every student lost in thought about the grim future that awaited them.

"Finally, it’s over. She’s out of the classroom," Vigor said as he stood up.

"Well, I could have participated, but I just didn’t want to," he said to the student sitting beside him.

"Still, what she said is pretty scary. The current Demon Lord... I’ve heard about him too. He’s unbelievably strong," Roger replied.

He folded his arms.

"But what do you think about that prophecy? The first human to become a deity... a human who reaches the level of a god. Do you think someone like that really exists?"

"Huh?" Vigor scoffed.

"I don’t give a damn about any of that. All I know is that one day, I’ll become strong enough to defeat the Demon Lord myself."

"I don’t believe that nonsense about some human becoming a deity."

The entire classroom burst into laughter.

"Hahaha!"

"You’re right!" one of the students shouted.

"That’s impossible!"

"No human could ever become a god," another student added as the room filled with chatter once again.

"I wonder how strong the Demon Lord really is. Are people exaggerating his strength that much?" Rowan muttered under his breath.

Neville, who was sitting beside him, turned to look at him.

"Well... I don’t think they’re exaggerating," Neville said.

"And not only that, his strength is on a completely different level."

He lowered his voice.

"I heard something else too. It was said that he’s planning to become even stronger."

Rowan remained silent, listening.

"They said that when the time comes, he’ll sacrifice ten thousand ordinary demons from his own army."

Neville’s expression grew serious.

"By sacrificing those ten thousand demons, he’ll gain even greater power. And once that happens... he’ll invade the Human Realm."

"Not just the Human Realm," he continued.

"He’ll also conquer the Elves, Dwarves, Beastkin, and every other race."

"That information came from the survivors of the last Hero’s expedition."

"The Hero sacrificed himself so that a few members of his party could escape."

"They returned alive and reported the Demon Lord’s exact words."

"They said he spoke about sacrificing his own army to gain enough power to wipe out every race."

Rowan remained expressionless.

They’re rather smart.

If he’s truly as strong as they claim... then he’s definitely someone worth acknowledging.

Still...

Soon I’ll be twelve years old.

By then, my body will have matured enough for me to summon my sacred sword.
