Chapter 118: Don’t Pry
"And remember, you must eat my dishes. My butler will deliver them to you every morning and night, daily."
"Thanks," Rowan said, accepting the luggage she handed over. "Have you found a way to contact your family?"
"Yes, just yesterday," she replied. "I sent someone to pass the message. The carriage should arrive any moment."
They waited briefly, and soon a carriage came forward. Elian waved, then entered gracefully. Rowan was about to hand her luggage in, but she stepped out, kissed his forehead and cheek, and bowed slightly.
"Please take care of yourself," she whispered. Then she collected her luggage and entered the carriage, which drove off. Rowan waved until it disappeared from sight.
"Well I’ll miss her," he murmured. "Always lively and her meals are amazing. I shouldn’t trouble her, and that’s that."
He turned and walked back into the school. Around this time, students were leaving their dorms, heading toward the main school building. Rowan followed, entering and heading straight to his class.
When Rowan entered the classroom
It was empty.
Desks and chairs stood in silence.
Only one person was there.
Velqira.
She was already seated, watching him.
A faint smile appeared on her face.
"Haha the princess arrives early," Rowan said casually. "Then what time should you even come to school?"
He glanced at her, then turned away, heading to his seat.
"Wait," she called out, standing up and walking toward him. "I want to ask you something."
Rowan stopped.
"What is it?"
Velqira looked straight at him.
"Will you be participating in the class to class tournament? The one to face the elite?"
Rowan sighed inwardly.
Everyone keeps asking me the same thing
"I’m not sure," he said calmly. "But for now I don’t plan to."
Velqira frowned.
"But you have to. You’re strong."
Rowan let out a small chuckle.
"Oh? That’s what you think?"
He folded his arms.
"I’m just a Sword Saint. My blessing is weak. I might not even pass the early rounds."
Velqira’s expression hardened.
"Enough."
Her voice turned firm.
"This is getting annoying."
Rowan raised a brow.
"Not just me everyone knows you’re strong," she continued. "The whole class saw it."
"And you’re still pretending to be weak."
Her eyes locked onto his.
"We all saw what you did. We’re not blind."
"So why do you keep denying it?"
"Even a Sword God couldn’t match what you did that day."
Silence filled the room.
Rowan’s expression slowly changed.
"So what if you know?" he said quietly.
Velqira paused.
"I always knew you suspected something," Rowan continued.
His gaze darkened slightly.
"And guess what?"
"I could erase your memory."
"Yours and everyone else’s."
Velqira’s eyes widened.
"Even that day when I saved you," Rowan added calmly. "I chose not to touch your memories."
He stepped closer.
"But who knew"
"we’d meet again."
Velqira exhaled slowly.
"So you’re capable of that?" she said. "Erasing memories"
She shook her head slightly.
"I knew you were powerful but this?"
Her gaze sharpened.
"You defeated two assassins without breaking a sweat. I remember it clearly."
She stepped closer.
"You cut them down instantly. That’s how strong you are."
Rowan looked at her, expression unreadable.
"Oh?" he said lightly. "Maybe you’re right maybe you’re wrong."
He turned slightly away.
"But I’ll tell you this there’s a lot about me you don’t know."
His tone grew colder.
"So stop trying to dig into my life."
"Mind your own business."
Velqira didn’t respond immediately.
Rowan continued
"I might participate in the tournament maybe."
He shrugged.
"But for now? I don’t feel like it."
"Too much stress."
Then, just like that, his cold expression shifted into a calm smile.
"So may I take my leave?"
Before she could reply
Other students began entering the classroom, their chatter filling the silence.
Velqira let out a quiet breath and nodded.
Rowan walked past her and headed to the back of the class.
He sat down calmly
As if nothing had just happened.
The classroom soon became noisy as more students filled the seats.
Neville walked in, waving as he spotted Rowan.
"Good morning," he said, sitting beside him.
"Morning," Rowan replied calmly.
A moment later
The door opened.
A teacher walked in, holding a book. She placed it on the desk at the front of the class and turned to face them.
"Alright, everyone silence."
Her voice was firm.
"And those still standing, take your seats."
The class quickly settled down.
"I know this is your first time seeing me," she continued. "My name is Luna. I’ll be teaching you combat and tactics."
She picked up a piece of chalk.
"After this session, students who haven’t yet sparred or shown their abilities will be evaluated. The academy needs to understand what each of you is capable of."
She turned to the board and began drawing simple diagrams.
"I’ve heard that all of you can release your aura your mana."
She tapped the board.
"Mana is the core. Aura is simply its outward expression."
"As your mana grows, your aura becomes stronger and more refined."
She continued writing.
"To increase your mana, you can meditate. There are also other methods but meditation is the foundation."
She paused, then added
"Physical training matters too. Strengthening your body can also improve your mana capacity."
The class listened closely.
"You will be facing Class A soon," Luna said, glancing back at them. "However, the participants haven’t been decided yet."
Murmurs spread across the room.
"For now, focus on the basics."
She drew three words on the board
Speed. Agility. Strength.
"These are the foundation of combat."
"Let’s ignore blessings for now."
She turned back to the class.
"If you’re slower than your opponent you lose."
"If you lack agility you get hit."
"If you lack strength you can’t deal damage."
She folded her arms.
"No matter how special your ability is if you don’t train, nothing will change."
"Growth comes with effort."
She paused briefly.
"Sometimes, as you grow older, your mana naturally increases. Your blessing may also develop further."
"But your foundation your discipline decides how far you go."
She smiled slightly.
"For those who don’t know, I am a Sword Master and a high ranking adventurer."
A small wave of whispers passed through the class.
"And for now," she added, "I’m your instructor."
"And also," Luna continued, folding her arms, "I’m going to be your only instructor."
The class went quiet.
"Once the final batch is selected for the inter class tournament, I’ll be the one training all of you."
She glanced around the room.
"And training starts immediately. Maybe tomorrow or even later today."
A few students stiffened.
"So be ready."
Her tone turned serious.
"A lot of things can go wrong in combat. You must always prepare for the worst case scenario."
She paused briefly before adding
"Don’t worry. None of you will die."
Some students relaxed slightly.
"But you can get injured."
The room fell silent again.
"And by injured, I mean your arm could be cut off your leg could be severed."
A few students swallowed hard.
"But you will be healed."
"You’ll feel the pain, but you won’t suffer permanent damage."
She turned back to the board.
"Now, let’s talk about improving your mana."
"To refine your control, focus your mana on three points your forehead, your chest, and your dominant hand."
She tapped each spot on her body as she spoke.
"The forehead sharpens perception."
"The chest your heart is your core."
"And your hand is your point of release especially for those who wield weapons."
She looked across the class.
"I need a volunteer. A swordgod."
A hand shot up.
"Me!"
"Good," Luna said. "Daryl, stand up."
Daryl rose to his feet.
"Close your eyes."
He did.
"Now release your mana."
"Focus on your forehead your chest and your sword hand."
"Draw your sword."
Daryl slowly pulled out his sword and held it firmly.
"Good. Now concentrate."
"Imagine your mana flowing through those three points connecting them."
The classroom went completely silent.
Then
A red aura began to form around him.
It grew.
And grew.
"Whoa," someone whispered.
It was much larger than before almost twice its usual size.
Daryl’s eyes snapped open.
"Wow"
The aura flickered
Then vanished.
He exhaled.
Luna smiled slightly.
"That was impressive."
"Truly impressive."
She nodded.
"You’re talented. You have a bright future ahead of you."
"But"
Her expression sharpened.
"You lack control."
"You couldn’t maintain that state."
Daryl lowered his head slightly.
"Practice it. Again and again."
"Later today, after class keep training."
"You’ll improve."
She turned back to the class.
"Now, not every blessing works the same way. Different combat styles require different approaches."
She scanned the room again.
"Let’s try swordsman."
Another hand went up.
"Me," he said.
"Good. Virgo, stand."
Virgo stood up.
"Close your eyes."
He obeyed.
"Draw your sword."
He pulled it out.
"Now listen carefully."
"Don’t just release your mana blindly."
"Imagine drawing energy from your core your heart."
"Guide it into your sword hand."
"If that’s difficult, then imagine pushing it from your chest into your arm."
She stepped back.
"Now release your aura."
