Chapter 116: The Pact
They walked toward the exit.
Then
Rowan stopped.
"You go ahead," he said. "I’ll catch up."
Neville looked at him, then nodded.
"Alright."
He walked out.
The moment he left
Rowan’s expression changed.
He walked toward the window and opened it.
His eyes narrowed as he looked outside.
What is that thing doing here?
Without hesitation
He jumped out.
He landed smoothly on the ground below.
A small figure stood there.
A creature.
It walked toward him slowly.
Rowan looked down at it, his gaze sharp.
"Tell me," he said coldly, "what are you doing here?"
His voice lowered.
"You’re not worried someone might see you?"
The creature stopped in front of him.
"Master no. I didn’t sense anyone nearby," Fenrir said.
Rowan nodded slightly.
"Good. Then tell me what brings you here?"
Fenrir lifted her head slightly.
"Master have you forgotten?" she said. "You promised to grant me a wish during the last incident."
Rowan raised a brow.
"Did I?"
He sighed lightly.
"Fine. Tell me what do you wish for?"
Fenrir’s eyes locked onto his.
"My wish is something beyond value."
She stepped forward.
"I want you to become my master."
Rowan frowned slightly.
"What do you mean?"
"I want a pact," Fenrir said calmly. "A master and servant bond. I want to serve you."
Rowan exhaled.
"That’s it?"
He looked at her carefully.
"And why are you so eager to be under me? It’s not like anything special will happen."
He paused.
"And I don’t even fully understand how this works."
Fenrir’s gaze didn’t waver.
"So you agree?"
Rowan hesitated for a moment
Then nodded.
Fenrir immediately lowered her massive body, bowing her head in front of him.
"Place your hand on my head, Master," she said softly.
Rowan raised his hand and placed it on her forehead.
At that instant
A massive golden magic circle appeared beneath them, glowing brightly.
Rowan’s eyes widened.
"Master focus," Fenrir said. "Pour only a tiny amount of your mana. You are too powerful even one percent could destroy me."
Rowan narrowed his eyes.
"Alright."
He concentrated
And released only the tiniest fraction of his mana.
0.001%.
The moment it entered
Fenrir’s body began to glow.
A crystal formed on her forehead, shining gold.
The magic circle shifted
From gold
To deep red.
Then
A surge of blue energy erupted from Rowan, engulfing Fenrir completely.
Rowan stepped back, startled.
"What the hell?"
That amount shouldn’t be enough to harm her
The energy intensified.
Light shot upward into the sky
So bright it could be seen from the dorms.
"What is that light?!"
"Did something explode?!"
Voices echoed in the distance.
Then
It vanished.
Silence.
Rowan slowly stepped forward.
And then
He froze.
His face instantly turned red as he looked away.
"What the hell?"
Fenrir stood there
No longer a beast.
But a human girl.
She slowly opened her eyes.
"Master," she said softly. "It’s complicated."
Rowan kept his face turned away.
"Wait you’re a woman?! And now you’re human?!"
Fenrir blinked, then smiled slightly.
"It seems your mana was too powerful," she said. "During the pact my form adapted to yours."
She took a step closer.
"And since you are human I became one as well."
She moved even closer
Rowan quickly pulled off his jacket and threw it toward her without looking.
"Put that on," he said sharply. "You can’t walk around like that."
Fenrir caught it, smiling playfully as she wore it.
"Oh what’s wrong, Master?" she teased. "Your face is red."
Rowan turned further away.
"Stop the nonsense."
Fenrir giggled softly.
"Could it be you’re attracted to me?"
Before Rowan could respond
Footsteps rushed toward them.
"Hey! There was a huge light here!"
"Search the area!"
Rowan’s expression sharpened instantly.
"Stay quiet."
In one swift motion
He grabbed Fenrir and leapt upward, slipping back into his room through the window.
He shut it immediately.
Outside
The guards arrived.
"What the hell? I swear someone was here"
"There’s nothing."
Inside the room
Rowan exhaled slowly.
"That was close"
He turned
Then immediately looked away again.
"I need to get you proper clothes."
"No, Master there’s no need for that," Fenrir said, stepping closer.
She tilted her head slightly, observing him.
"I’m actually surprised," she added with a faint smile. "You’re always so cold and strict"
Her eyes narrowed playfully.
"But right now you’re blushing."
Rowan kept his face turned away, eyes shut.
"Stop saying nonsense," he said flatly.
Fenrir leaned in a little more.
"Could it be you’re inexperienced?"
Rowan’s expression twitched.
"Enough."
Inside his mind, however
What the hell is wrong with me?
She’s half dressed no this is bad.
I need to get her proper clothes immediately.
He exhaled sharply.
Even in my previous life I never dealt with situations like this
And now this
He clenched his jaw slightly.
"Don’t move," Rowan said firmly.
"I’ll be back."
Without waiting for a response, he turned, walked out of the room, and shut the door behind him.
As he stepped into the hallway, he ran a hand through his hair.
"Great."
I need clothes for her
He paused.
Elian.
Then frowned.
"That might be a problem."
Elian’s clothes won’t fit her properly
He sighed.
"Well it’s the best option for now."
Rowan began walking down the corridor, leaving the boys’ dormitory
Heading to find Elian.
A guard walked down the corridor, holding a torch.
"Hey is someone there?" he called out.
He began to raise the torch toward Rowan’s direction
"Presence concealment," Rowan muttered.
In an instant
His presence vanished.
No aura. No sound.
Nothing.
He walked past silently.
Soon, he reached the female teachers’ dormitory.
Rowan stopped outside and frowned.
"How am I supposed to find Elian in here?"
He exhaled.
"This is going to be annoying."
He stepped inside briefly
Then came back out almost immediately.
"Yeah this won’t work."
He looked up.
"Let’s make this quick."
He lifted off the ground and flew upward.
His senses spread out.
"Found you."
He stopped outside a window.
