Chapter 221: The Competition 5

‎‎In the room where the Alpha rankers were overseeing the competition, the demi immortals now sat calmly, and in silence. Unlike before when Sevas and Regulus kept disrupting their silence, both the disturbances now had eyes fixed on the screens before them.

‎"Who is that vile human child?" Eren Silvermoon, the consort of the Elven empress and father of both Mayura and Ivis Silvermoon said, watching the interaction between Mayura and the despicable human.

‎"I see you humans are still retarded in the sense that you teach your young ones that the other races originated from the human race." Ellaria turned to the humans in the room, making all the other alpha rankers so the same in a questioning manner, curious to see how the humans would would respond.

‎"We teach no such thing." Alexa said. "But the truth is the truth, it never hides." She snickered.

‎"A lesser race birthing a superior race, where have you ever heard of that?" Eren snorted.

‎The others merely watched the interaction with growing interest. At this point, Amon who’s gaze was still fixed on the screens, turned to Eren.

‎"A superior race you say, are you implying that the Elven race is inferior to the Human? No one is superior to the human race, least of all, the Darkfell."

‎Eren’s face twisted.

‎"And you Amon, you are simply the most arrogant being I’ve ever had the displeasure of coming across in my entire life." He pointed at Amon. "You even seem to think your own family, the Darkfell, is like sort of the most noblest lineage above the rest of humans. It’s no wonder you are called the mad Emperor."

‎"Hahahahaha!" Sevas’s laugh boomed across the hall. "I told you Amon, you are more arrogant than I am."

‎"It’s true, you humans are extremely arrogant. When I was a teen, I thought I was arrogant, I thought the demon race was arrogant, until I met a human that was. Guess who that human is?" Regulus asked with a grin. He didn’t need to say it, everyone knew he was referring to Maximus Whetstone.

‎"And would you look at that, another arrogant human walking to their death." Celeste gestured at a certain screen.

‎On the screen, In a searing desert with countless white dunes, a human youth had come across a demon, but not just any demon. The human had come across the genius prince of the Demon Empire, Kaal Von Sanguine.

‎"Do you have any sphere on your person, demon?" The human asked in an arrogant tone.

‎Kaal continued to look at the human, but didn’t dignify his question with an answer.

‎"Are you deaf, demon?" The human snarled, walking closer to Kaal. "I fucking asked you a question." His hand moved to seize kaal’s collar.

‎But the next instant, blood burst out from every orifice, arteries, and vein all across the human youth’s body. He died instantly.

‎"These humans, so arrogant." Kaal muttered under his breath, looking at the fallen youth.

‎ It had only been an hour since the second phase began, and Kaal still had no intentions of actively looking for a sphere. But then, he actually encountered this human asking him if had any spheres.

‎’I should probably leave this desert.’ he thought. Not a moment later than he thought that, Kaal disappeared from his place, so fast that the sorcery framework broadcasting his figure across Nahaar lagged behind.

‎Dunes exploded like a geyser in his wake. In less than minute, kaal, crossed the vast desert, and reached the its end.

‎However, he could see a few candidates in not far into the vast grassland that bordered the searing desert, two humans, three demons, and a single elf, and they were running in his direction.

‎Though, he soon realized that wasn’t the case when he felt something shooting towards him at absurdly fast speeds. His eyes narrowed, but he didn’t panic. With impossible flexibility, Kaal twisted his body and caught whatever it was with his right hand.

‎The moment his hand enclosed around the object, Kaal got dragged backwards for a few meters, his boots tearing deep trenches into the earth before he came to a stop.

‎He then finally had time to look at the object in his hand. It was a red sphere glowing with a bright Vermillion light.

‎"FIRST TO OBTAIN A SPHERE, KAAL VON SANGUINE!!" The commentator’s voice rang throughout the pocket realm.

‎The demon spectators roared in excitement as at the announcement. Though they had seen Kaal catching the red sphere, the commentator announcing it hyped them further.

‎"Yes, the demon race prevails."

‎"We are going to win this convergence?"

‎"KAAL VON SANGUINE!!!" They roared on top of their lungs, feeling the superiority of the demon race, thinking they that was it, but what they didn’t know was that, that announcement did more than just make the demon race hyped.

‎All across the secret realm, other youths grew more competitive, even those who had plans of letting others do the work for them completely decided otherwise.

‎"Map." Somewhere in a deep forest, Ivis called out coldly.

The announcement that Kaal Von Sanguine has just obtained a sphere stroke the competitiveness in his soul. Besides, he had vowed to make Kaal regret it.

‎So how could he fall behind when Kaal has already obtained a sphere? No, that won’t do. Ivis quickly searched the map and determined the closet sphere to his location.

‎And it seemed the closest one wasn’t too far away from his current location. It might even be in the forest he currently was. Just as Ivis was about to dismiss the map however, a two meter sized ape rushed towards.

‎With a single glance from Ivis, the beast’s mass increased significantly, making it incredibly hard for it to move. Ivis merely tilted his head, letting the beast’s fist move past him, before a precise punch from him exploded the beast’s head in chunks of blood, bones, and brain matter.

‎That was Ivis’s ability, mass manipulation. His initial ability allowed him to alter the mass of his body. He could make himself incredibly heavy, making it impossible to push or knock him over, or increase the mass of his physical attack so much it feels like being hit by a mountain.

‎ And Ivis could also become extremely light, allowing to jump higher, float in the air, and fall slowly. It was how he had survived the fall during the first phase.

‎His Zeta ability however, extended his mass manipulation. He could now manipulate the mass of others, and that of the environment, much like his twin, Mayura could do for density.

‎Earlier, Ivis had made the ape too heavy, and thus it’s attack was extremely slow.

‎After dealing with the ape beast, Ivis checked the map once more to confirm the direction of the sphere.

‎A human shaped vacuum appeared in the place the space Ivis had been occupying, before reality rushed back in to fill in the void. That made the air compound and contract, releasing a thunderous boom that shattered the ground his wake.

‎At this moment, his only goal was to get that sphere.

‎----------

‎At another location, Anastasia Necron was seated atop a cliff when the announcement came that Kaal Von Sanguine had acquired a sphere.

‎She allowed a small smile to grace her indifferent expression, before abruptly jumping off from the cliff. While it may not look like it, Anastasia was extremely competitive.

‎And out of all the youths participating in this convergence, there was only one person she felt wary of, and that was Kaal Von Sanguine.

‎She she also felt wary of the others, it was not at the level of Kaal, not even Alistair, not Ivis and Mayura, and certainly not Namor who was her uncle.

‎Soon, Anastasia landed gracefully on the ground, but that didn’t prevent the ground beneath her feet from cracking.

‎’I wonder how they’re doing.’ she thought of Rose and Delilah, before vanishing in a scarlet streak.

‎---------

‎Rose and Isolde meanwhile, were in the middle of fighting through a horde of beasts.

‎Rose turned around, blasting a flash of incinerating flames towards a group of insect like beasts.

‎The insects turned to ash near instantly the moment the immolating flames caught them in its furious wrath. The very air around Rose burned with a hazy with a sundering heat.

‎Even Isolde and her summoned beast had to stay far away from Rose’s area of battle. ’She’d be extremely tough to fight, even with my ice type beast.’

‎She continued to watch as Rose incinerated clusters of the insect like beast’s with a mere flex of her ability.

‎That wasn’t to say Isolde herself lagged behind. She and her summoned beast which looked like a massive raven, tore through the insect effortlessly.

‎Especially her summoned beast. A single swipe of it’s talons cut apart numerous insects at once.

‎It was at that time that they heard the announcement that Kaal had obtained a sphere.

‎The moment the announcement was made, Rose and Isolde’s eyes met instantly, a silent understanding passing between them.

‎Booom!

‎An area of effect attack spread from Rose’s form in an immolating circle. It spread through the entire army of insects in an instant, erasing them to ash along with the trees in the vicinity of the attack.

‎Isolde meanwhile had unsummoned her summoning beast, and blurred backwards the instant she and Rose shared a look. She covered two kilometers in an instant.

‎Isolde marvelled at the incandescent mushroom cloud from out of the attack’s danger zone.

‎’If she was at the Zeta rank, even Kaal would struggle.’ Isolde thought grimly.
