Chapter 86 - 86: INFORMATION AND BETRAYAL
Memories of my father in his office, years ago. Yeah, he stood in front of his book shelf of ancient text written by more formidable beings who fell into Hell as punishment for their atrocities. Am i suggesting that they were angels? No. I am merely scraping my memories for the information i need.
"Ah! Here it is," he said. He was searching for a book that he needed. It was a thick, hide covered book and he dropped it on his desk. It was one of the first Acryana, hand written texts of the ancient of the shaping of this dimension.
I looked at the Acryana, while my father sat down and open the book to read. "I am sure you are quite versed in old text," he spoke. Those words had confused me and I had no words other than why do you say such, for I knew that he noticed that I had knowledge and could easily understand the words.
"..." I stayed silent.
"Ravedos, do you know why I had made you leader of those twelve strongest demons?" he asked.
"I am not knowledgeable of your decision to do so," I responded.
"You are far more powerful than all of them, even the Demon King I had left in charge. Giving you more authority than you need, you would've brought death beyond my power. Your mother had exiled you from her realm because of you nature. As it is far more dangerous in the wrong hands, my foolishness brought you to follow that bafoons lead and yet you rebel more than I had anticipated."
He pushed the book toward me and spoke, "Read the thirtieth chapter of this book."
I did as I was commanded and then he stopped me before I could read any further. 'The bane of the powerful is their insatiable hunger for absolute power,' were the last words I had read. He pulled it back toward him.
"You are powerful and I am keeping you from gaining such a hunger. Your brother doesn't get this treatment, because he would've followed the path of tyranny. You lead fair and with good trust in your power. They despise that, they abhor it even. Do not give away your senses for their foolishness, you are yet to feel what it means to lose something and you may even fall into a moment of powerlessness and rejection, don't lose sight of yourself. Now you may pardon me to my work, I will have summoned when I need you."
Then he went back to reading the book himself as I made my way out.
Out of that memory, I can finally see he showed care for me. It felt like a foreign feeling to me, yet I showed it for my team.
Laura was still speaking to Dr. Dhalia, somewhere in the facility. I stood by the door and pondered what was inside. That wasn't my plan, so I ignored it. I didn't need unnecessary exploration of the facility.
Just in that moment the door handle was shaking. Someone was about to walk out of the room. I quickly stepped to the side of the door where it could hide me and shuffled along the wall away from the door. As I did so, two individuals walked out and were talking about how bad their work has been.
One was a male with a naturally deep and raspy voice and the other feminine – but it was a familiar voice – going their separate ways from the room. The female was walking in my direction and the male was walking the opposite way.
As she approached the corner, I looked and identified her. I quickly grabbed her and covered her mouth before she could scream. She was terrified by her rapid and heavy breathing.
"Do you agree to not scream when I let go of your mouth, Cory?" I asked her.
She answered by making a sound through her nose. Slowly I loosened my grip on her mouth and took my hand off. I then gave her the chance to calm down, but she immediately turned around and asked me, "How the fuck are you alive?"
My mouth remained silent and she slowly backed away. "What are you? A fucking monster?" she asked. I peeked around the corner behind her. "Look, you're made using my DNA. I am sorry to break it to you but Dr. Dhalia was collecting my blood to make more of you all. Clones."
What I hadn't expected was her sarcastic chuckle. "You really cared for that worthless bitch after all," she said.
In that moment I knew who I was talking to and she had me in her hands again. However this time I expected her next move. She reached her hand into her pocket and took out a syringe.
My guard was lowered so that I could lure her closer toward me. She lunged forward, syringe held underhand.
Instinctively I caught her hand and knocked her out with my free hand by hitting her on the neck where the vagus nerve is found, directly next to the jugular vein.
With the now unconscious doctor I had to take her somewhere, but I didn't fully know the layout of the building.
Using the comms I contacted Laura and told her the situation. On her end she had to come up with an excuse to get away from the fake and come and meet me.
Fuck this. Why didn't I just kill her right then and there? I had the chance but why. Simple. I wasn't there for revenge I was there on a mission, destroy the facility and move one. No more blood had to be shed, even the one's who were deserving of it but that was a folly thought on my part.
I had managed to find a room deeper in the building. The room had a few chairs and tables, tools for medical dissections or autopsies and chemicals that are used for cleaning. I needed answers and I was going to get them.
Grabbed one of the chairs and sat her on it. I then looked for something I could use to bind her to the chair, then I found several tubes and used them to bind her feet to the front legs of the chair and her arms to the armrests of the chair.
I searched the room even more for items I could use to interrogate her and I got some chemicals, a scalpel and a cloth. I didn't need her to die on me, just answers.
As I checked my watch for the time waiting for Laura.
She rushed into the room panting. I looked at her and she looked surprised. "I guess you overwhelmed her." she stated. She then walked toward the unconscious individual, grabbed her head, pulled it a bit and let go. Her head just fell back down.
"Shit, you definitely knocked her out,"
"Hmm,"
"So, what now? Are we going to have to wait for her to wake up?"
"No, I am going to have to wake her up now and get my answers. Take this and put in her mouth, I don't need her screaming when I wake her up,"
As I said that, I gave her a piece of the cloth I ripped. She placed it in her mouth, and I began to use the scalpel and make a slit in her left hand. It flinched a bit and then, I grabbed a cloth and a bottle of hydrogen peroxide and soaked the cloth with the chemical. Then I placed the chemically drenched cloth on her wound and the result was as expected.
She woke up immediately and shouted in pain, but she couldn't make any more than a muffled sound.
"There you go. Rise and shine sleeping beauty,"
Breathing erratically from an awful wake up. I stood up and looked at her face. Her was face scared and had a bit of anger in it.
"Good to see you awake again. Last time was uncalled and I did what I needed."
Her breathing slowed and Laura kept her face from looking around and trying to force herself to scream. "Don't hold her that tightly," I told Laura concerned about how she held Dhalia's face.
"Now I will tell you what I want to know, she will allow you to talk and you respond without screaming. If not she will quickly cover your mouth, I make another incision and use this same cloth again on the wound. Are we clear?"
She slowly nodded her and I signaled Laura to let her talk.
"I want you to tell me why you are making these clones?"
"If I tell you I am as good as dead,"
"Not the answer I was looking for,"
I wasn't being lenient on her and I repeated the same actions I did when waking her up from her nap. The muffled scream is what I could hear and it was a good thing. Laura knew what it meant to get information like this, her training led to this.
"Next will be your leg. Now, let's start over again. Why are you making clones of me?"
The make-shift gag came of and Portford became more compliant.
"For bio-weapons. Your blood was what I needed to make bio-weapons with you DNA. These clones were just a test and they one you liked the most turned out she was the more successful one out of all the rest."
I narrowed my eyes and tilted my head. "Cory was the most successful?"
He wide grin creaked and she laughed maniacally. "You are so fucking stupid. She is coming for you! I made sure of it!"
The anger got to me and I repeated the process again. Laura didn't have enough time to react but she managed to muffle the doctor again.
"Who are the bio-weapons for?"
She was panting and moaning. "Oh fuck. I might need more of that.
Uh. Fuck!" she was lost in ecstasy. "The government wants it. Uh. President Brent gave me your info and the prospect that you aren't human… hmm. Fuck!"
Laura looked at me concerned as I watched her lose herself to this sudden lust. A wet spot began to appear by her crotch.
I stepped away for a moment and placed my hand on face trying to relax. "He paid me enough to do this and I get full immunity for it. Fuck, I hadn't felt this good in a long time. The pain was electrifying…" she said then paused for a bit.
She laughed again but her laugh became twisted. I turned back to find her becoming less of a human and more into a monster. Her body began growing a few centimeters longer, her hair slowly disappearing, her arms and legs elongating. She became a creature that hunted for flesh. Laura and I couldn't wait for her transformation to complete and she escaping the chair.
I quickly pulled her away and headed for the door. Instead of opening then closing, I smashed through the solid wooden door with my shoulder. We ended up back in the hallway and were met with a few more clones just to the end of the carpeted hallway to our right. "Go on ahead without me, I will handle them." I told her.
Six, there were six of them. All aware of their surroundings, they all had free will and they had their eyes on me. I didn't to kill anyone of them, only when push to shove did I initiate the kill.
All of them ran toward and I prepared myself to fight. When they got close one swung, I dodged their attack and hit the next one instead. Another tried to kick me, I caught their leg and broke it. I got hit in the back, then a fist hit me on my cheek knocking me back. 'Shit they are strong!' I thought and that was when I decided to fight back with enough force to knock them out.
While I was distracted the monster lunged out of the doorway and I was in its line of sight and we both went through a wall.
I was under the creature and it tried to thrust its serrated claws into my skull. I dodged it and when I found the chance I kicked it back. She was now about two and a half meters tall and she wasn't fully standing tall. I got back to my feet and saw what she had become, teeth that were meant to tear skin, her skin flesh but thick and her head now twice her human sized head. The teeth were maybe ten centimeters long.
Behind her walked the clones that grabbed the rubble and used it as weapons.
They each attacked me one after the other and I fought back taking down each one. The monster didn't move it just watched, not waiting for a chance just seeing how I can fight. Then it turned back into a naked woman with her busty breasts and plumb body for display before she walked.
Cory walked in and stopped by her then she looked at me. Her eyes showing her sadness. Then as if they were signaled to the six clones all jumped onto me and pinned to the wall. "You don't understand what we're going through," one said.
"We have no choice," another spoke.
Cory slowly walked up to me and stab the one pressing against my chest with a syringe she held in her hand and injected them with the drug.
It reacted almost immediately and they started spasming, causing them to collapse and die. The one that made way for her attacked.
The ones pinning me to the wall were distracted for a little bit and I used that knock out another the other. Then for the fifth one I used my gun and shot them in the head. The blood splattered on her face.
I rushed over to her and told her that we had to leave before Dhalia comes back with reinforcements to kill both of us. She was scared and couldn't move. I picked her up and carried her over my shoulder.
Going through the building to find the exit. Once I did I stepped out and was met with Laura pointing her gun at me, the trigger was pulled. I put Cory down before I collapsed once again. She walked up slowly and her final words to me were, "Come find me like you did before,"
Things turned out awful for me in the end.
