Trapped with the Alpha King

Chapter 297: What The Future Holds

Everyone panicked when a servant suddenly arrived and reported that the King had collapsed unconscious.

Althea had no choice but to explain everything to them.

“What are you saying?” the Queen Mother exclaimed in disbelief. “We already lost our wolves, and now you’re telling us there’s a spiritual realm invisible to our eyes? That my son has been fighting demons there? And Riela just underwent a deliverance where a demon was cast out of her?”

She paused before adding, “And the admiral was knocked unconscious so he wouldn’t interfere?”

The Queen Mother had practically summarized Althea’s entire explanation herself.

“I know this is a lot to take in,” Althea said gently. “But rest assured, Lord Arturo will wake up soon.”

“And what about your sister-in-law?” the Queen Mother pressed further.

Althea failed to answer immediately.

Because she knew very well that Riela would not wake up anytime soon.

“It may take some time, Mother...” Althea answered softly. “It depends on Riela herself...”

“What?!” the Queen Mother exclaimed in panic.

It was then that Prophet Elior stepped forward and calmly said, “Your Majesty, please go to the King and stay by his side for now. Allow me to explain everything further to Her Grace and the others.”

Everyone’s attention shifted toward him.

Althea quickly spoke up in support.

“He is Prophet Elior. He helped Gavriel and me greatly during our journey to Velmora. He is like an elder to both of us. Please trust him. He can explain everything more clearly and answer your questions.”

The Queen Mother weakly sat back down while Beatrice moved to comfort her.

Minister Marius subtly signaled for Althea to leave first.

Without wasting another second, Althea hurried toward the quarters assigned to them inside Ward Manor.

Uriel was already there, currently checking on Gavriel.

“He’s fine,” Uriel reassured her calmly. “He only overexerted himself. It’s severe fatigue. Let him rest longer. The herbal incense will help him relax.”

Althea nodded in relief.

“Don’t worry about Aunt Wilma,” Uriel added with a faint smile. “I’ll support Prophet Elior in explaining things.”

Uriel was also gifted spiritually, though unlike Gavriel, he had not yet personally experienced performing an actual deliverance or direct battle against demonic spirits.

“He’s been overworking himself lately,” Uriel muttered while glancing at Gavriel. “I suppose I really need to step up now.”

“But Gavriel wanted you to focus on your marriage with Beatrice first,” Althea reminded him gently. “Once everything settles down, he’ll feel more at ease handing things over. We already have two capable people who can assist him in a few days before eventually taking charge themselves.”

“Yes, but I’m still the head,” Uriel replied. “I should handle things personally first before passing responsibilities onto others.”

Then he looked back at Gavriel and shook his head faintly.

“This man has been getting too soft on me lately. He keeps pampering me too much and I’m not used to it.”

Althea chuckled softly because it was true.

Gavriel had changed a lot. He had become far more considerate and sensitive toward the people around him. Deep down, she also knew he wanted to make up for how harshly he had treated Uriel in the years following the incident with Rizza.

“He’s just overwhelmed seeing you finally settling down,” Althea said gently. “He told me it was something he had always hoped for because he never wanted you to remain trapped in

the past.”

Her expression softened further.

“It was Chaos, his Lycan, who killed Rizza back then, not you or Gavriel himself. Both of you know he couldn’t control his Lycan at that time.”

“It’s still a lot to take in,” Uriel admitted. “But the Scriptures you and Gavriel lent me helped me understand many things.”

He leaned back slightly before continuing thoughtfully.

“This devil was given authority over the earth, and for far too long humanity has been manipulated, deceived, and used by him. We were led to worship false gods and rely on powers rooted in darkness, making us believe we were above all other creatures.”

His expression darkened faintly.

“Even the mate bond itself became twisted. People forced bonds onto others against their will simply because they believed they had the right to claim them. It’s ridiculous when you truly think about it.”

Uriel let out a deep sigh.

“So many things never truly made sense before. We were trapped under generations of curses and bondage brought by the enemy of darkness. That’s why I’m grateful that the Almighty God in heaven finally freed us from that stronghold.”

Althea nodded in agreement before softly adding,

“Even so, darkness still exists in this world. It hasn’t been completely wiped away. But now, God has enlightened us and given us His light to follow.”

Her gaze drifted toward the sleeping Gavriel.

“We just have to remain vigilant because the fight still continues. Spiritual warfare still exists, and we must continue overcoming it by staying true to the Word and laws of God instead of allowing ourselves to be deceived and manipulated by the enemy again.”

Uriel took a deep breath before letting out a quiet sigh too.

“Yes,” he admitted softly. “And I do appreciate everything and I’m truly grateful that we finally had our eyes opened. Honestly, everything we experienced before shaped us into who we are now. We learned from our mistakes, and somehow all those hardships made us stronger.”

Althea simply nodded with a smile of agreement.

After a few instructions, Uriel soon left and Althea was left alone with her husband.

Althea quietly looked at her husband, who was now peacefully resting in the quarters assigned to them at Ward Manor.

Lately, Gavriel had been working relentlessly while still making time for her, personally tending to all her cravings and needs whenever he could.

And beyond that, he had also been exhausting himself fighting unclean spirits within the spiritual realm.

They still hadn’t limited recruits for this task and they must get more gifted citizens that would be up for the task.

She let out a deep sigh before gently taking her husband’s hand and holding it against her cheek. It was warm.

Carefully, she lowered his hand back onto the bed before quietly lying beside him. She nestled close against his body and wrapped her arms around him tightly.

“Let’s stay together like this no matter what the future holds,” she whispered softly. “I will always stand by your side as we guide each other in doing what is right before the eyes of God.”

Her embrace around him tightened slightly.

“Things may not always remain as peaceful and perfect as they are now, but I pray that we continue growing deeper in our walk with God together...”

A faint smile touched her lips as her hand moved protectively over her stomach. “And with our future babies as well.”
