Chapter 321: Music Combo
Some of the cultists managed to blast a way out of the warehouse. They were met with the three minors servant outside.
Evelynn took a deep breath in. Then she sang.
Her skin glimmered like stars floating on a clear blue lake. The air around her started to vibrate like they were touched by her voice.
Heartstrings Lullaby. A song that could charm the enemy and weaken their wills to fight.
"Let me help you with that." Sparrow swiped his fingers over the Adventurous Lute, adding on to the song.
Sparrow didn’t have any sound related powers. His Adventurous Lute was simple a Magical Conduit for his casting. But when combined that with Evelynn, his Adventurous Lute changed.
The sound of those strings entwined with Evelynn’s voice, heightened her influence to those cultists.
A heart enveloped their vision. They saw Evelynn as the most beautiful woman they had ever seen. In just a few seconds, the cultists fell in love.
They were charmed and became sitting ducks for Solarix to take care.
"That’s a nice combination, you two."
The winged demon smirked. She swirled her two hands around each other. A ball of Hellfire was created as Infernal Rays shot out repeatedly, burning the cultists on the ground.
These cultists did not train their mind. Not a lot of people inside this world did. That made them a target for mental attack like Evelynn’s voice.
The Leader was pinned onto the floor by Crow’s hands. All of his secrets were revealed. And he saw how powerful these ’demons’ could be.
His loyalty lay with Xara. But she wasn’t here. She was dead.
The ’Lord Demons’ in front of him were weaker, but they were alive. And they’re strong too.
He found no reasons to continue fighting.
"I surrender!" The Leader shouted at the top of his lungs. He made sure everyone would hear his voice.
The cultists inside the warehouse froze. Bash also stopped killing them.
The cultists outside the warehouse were ready to meet their maker. But for some reasons, they didn’t feel any pain at all.
When they opened their eyes again, the winged demon had stopped attacking them.
As instinct, everyone turned toward the shout that they heard.
Crow released the leader.
The leader immediately went into the most submissive position he could imagine. His forehead was on the floor.
"I, Malcolm Alieza, swear fealty to you, my lord demons!" The Leader shouted again.
"You should have done that sooner. They wouldn’t need to die." The black cat floated to Crow’s shoulder. His deep voice echoed.
"They deserved to die, Lord Demon! Because they disrespected you all!" Malcolm said.
"You also disrespected us, didn’t you, Malcolm?" The black cat grinned widely.
Malcolm trembled. "I will forever be loyal to you, Lord Demon!"
"And what about Xara?" Mater said.
"We only have one and only one Master!"
"Very well. But you should know that saying doesn’t mean much. I need something more permanent than that."
"What do you mean, Lord Demon?"
The black cat flew to Malcolm and grabbed his head. Its black furry paw penetrated into Malcolm’s forehead.
Mater was just piercing into Malcolm’s Psycho Force. However, he did it a little bit fancy this time to make sure all the cultists had the right impression.
He left his mark inside Malcolm’s Psycho Force, turning him into his forever servant.
"You belong to me now, Malcolm."
The Leader bowed again, "Long live Lord Heracy!"
With the Leader surrendered, the rest followed. Mater turned each and every single one of them into his servants.
This process was accomplished by using Octagram Chaos Eyes and not Submission Pact so it didn’t waste his valuable Warlock Servant Slots.
Suddenly, Mater got another branch of underlings.
Sparrow rubbed the stubbly beard on his chin, "We took over a crime enterprise. Now we take over a group of cultists. Why do we slowly look like the bad guy?"
Bash had manifested his Blood Mask again and returned to the short kid with a red suit.
"You don’t like being a bad?" Bash said.
"On the contrary, it feels kind of liberating." Sparrow smiled deviously and continued to play his lute.
"Master. From what I’ve read in Malcolm’s memories. This place is only one of the spots that the Red Keepers using to gather NES. There are other places in Lieu Iana." Crow said.
The black cat stroked its whisker with a smirk, "Well then. We should expand our little cult more. But... don’t just get anyone. Have the little three tested their abilities. The survivors can join us."
"As you wish, Master."
The little three that Mater referred to was Evelynn, Sparrow, and Solarix.
For the next few days, Mater stopped many more Demonic Rituals around Lieu Iana. Each of them siphoned the emotions produced by the festival inside the city.
"Damn! This festival has a lot of lust and debauchery, huh?"
Mater learned more about what the Red Keepers was trying to do. They were trying to resurrect Xara.
The amount of energy needed to perfectly raised a demon back to life was not small. Especially a Rank-4. Even the energy siphoned from thousands of people could only filled a tiny section.
The warehouse that he attacked first was the main siphon. The remaining places were only subsidiary branches from the first and they didn’t have any body parts.
Xara’s followers had been trying to locate her body parts for decades. Some were never found. Some were stolen by its members, like the finger that Mater got from a former Red Keeper in Ines Sota. And some were kept by opposing branches within the Red Keepers cult.
Apparently, Red Keepers wasn’t a united cult. There were many branches. Xara’s branch focused more on practicing spells and resurrecting her.
There was a modern, futuristic branch operated in Aeliz City that believed in Rut, another Rank-4 Demon. This branch focused on building their power and influence. They were actually a big investor behind V.O.I.D.
The Vanguard Offense Infiltration Division. The organization that took the bounty from Levy Zakharov to assassinate Selina once.
"Xara’s branch, huh... I do like having my own cult."
