Magus: Rise of the Darkness Empress

Chapter 163: Ch 163: Skepa Library

After this little recruitment session was over, Weiss and Elise took the remaining slaves back to the safe base. As for Lia, Weiss asked her to be in contact with her other subordinates present in the city and to get to know them a little. Weiss would give her further orders through them.

Lia accepted this instructions gracefully and was looking forward to the future. Now that she had the support of a noble family with at least two official knights, she would be able to expand her business and would be able to do more things which were impossible before.

One of the main reason why Weiss was so interested in Lia was because she wanted to use Lia and her company to produce and sell the high quality noble clothing that Peria was creating. So even if Lia did nothing in the future, she would still be able to get to know a lot of other nobles just because of this matter.

...

After bringing all the missing people back to the villagers, Weiss and Elise quickly returned back to the Skepa castle.

In this outing, they had managed to accomplish less than what they were expecting by getting rid of only one dark orginisation instead of two but the result that they had gotten was of a high quality. So Weiss was not completely disappointed.

The same way as before, both of the ladies sneaked into the castle and managed to get inside their rooms without any trouble. And while they were gone, no one had came to call for them.

This actually made a lot of sense. As Weiss and Elise were extremely powerful knights, they did not need much sleep. But the marquis and Eleanor would think that the ladies were tired after having a tough battle last night.

So that must be the reason why no one had came to disturb them in the morning. And Weiss was happy about this developement.

Next, she quickly changed into a more casual clothing. As for what she was going to do next, that would be to visit the library. She also wanted to finish the negotiations with the Marchioness but as she was super busy at the current moment, Weiss decided to do that at a later date.

So as Weiss came out of her room without hiding her presence, a maid of the Skepa family came to greet her almost Immediately.

It looked like as they did not want to disturb Weiss, no one had came to call for her. But a servant was always keeping an eye on her room.

So as soon as Weiss was out, one of the maids had immediately came to assist her. After the last night’s incident, Weiss had definitely became the most valuable guest for the Skepa family. So the maids were giving her the VIP treatment.

Weiss did not mind this and immediately asked the maid to take her to the library. This maid was aware that this noble lady had already gotten the permission to access the library, so she simply just bowed her head and started to escort Weiss to the library.

...

While Weiss went away, Elise started to write several letters. An addition to their family was a big deal and Elise immediately wished for all the other subordinates of Weiss to know about this matter.

Elise and her other subordinates had extremely high loyalty to Weiss and it was very clear. So they also wanted any new addition to the party to have the same level of devotion.

Not just that but the relationship between all the subordinates was extremely close. They had their own network and they were always ready to do whatever they could to benefit Weiss.

Elise obviously wanted Lia to also join this network. She was actually very fond of this new recruit. Both her personality and her willpower was impressive.

That was why Elise was writing this letter and was explaining about Lia to the others. This was also a brief report about everything happening here and about Weiss’s future plans. And obviously this was written in a secret code that only someone living in the Souran territory would be able to understand.

...

After coming to the library, Weiss was very impressed. This was a very large library with more than tens of thousands of books in it. Even someone like Weiss would need a lot of time to finish going through all of them.

But this was a challenge that Weiss was willing to take. She would be staying in the Skepa castle for some time and in that time period, she was going to do her best in finishing all the books here.

As Weiss was deciding this and was getting ready to start a fun reading session, someone came toward her. And this person was none other than Lady Aqua, the fourth wife of the marquis here.

This library was amazing but it was definitely not very famous at the current moment. And as it’s access was very restricted, only a limited number of people visited this place.

But there was someone who visited this place almost every single day. And that someone was none other than lady Aqua. Even with the trouble happening in the family, Aqua did not care about this at all and still visited the library as usual.

Weiss was planning to start a rapid reading session but after meeting Aqua here, she decided to take the slow and thorough approach for the time being. She did not want to reveal her astonishingly quick reading capabilities to anyone but her close subordinates.

...

Aqua and Weiss then started to talk with some tea and snacks to accompany them. As for their topic of conversation, it was obviously about the books here.

During the conversation, Aqua and Weiss got extremely close in no time. As both of them had an intense love for knowledge, they were a very good match.

After they had gotten unusually closer, Aqua ended up sharing a very surprising truth with Weiss. She had married to the Skepa family only for a single reason. And that reason was to get access to the books of this library.

This was definitely something very uncommon but Weiss was not surprised. Even in this short span of time, what she had seen of this lady, she would definitely do something like this.

...

After talking for a few more minutes, Aqua unfortunately had to leave. Even though she wanted nothing but to always be buried in her dear books, because of her position as a noble’s wife and her vast store of knowledge, she had quite a few important duties that she could not miss.

So now that she was gone, it was time for Weiss to finally start her quick reading session.
