After telling the annoying Mechanist about his D Rank Ascended powers, though it was not something that he did often, Lt. Colonel Umar Farouq still felt a sense of pride and smugness on seeing the reaction of the Mechanist.
’Yeah, take that bastard!’
He felt weird.
He was old, very few things could move him but interacting with this young but insanely talented D Rank Mechanist ignited a lot of feelings, emotions, and reactions that he already locked down with decades of being a mercenary.
Interacting with Leon annoyed him to no end.
The young man didn’t even have to say anything offensive, the expression on his face alone was annoying to him. He didn’t know why exactly, but he was just annoying.
The Zerphyr-7 Stealth Reconnaissance UAV already gave him an idea about the nature of powers that the young man had.
It was just as he expected, his powers were nerdy and Mechanisty.
But when he saw the Sentry-IV Autocannon Drone in action, shooting through armored terrorists like paper and tearing through layers of earth like it was mere dust, he felt a chill run down his spine.
His reaction to the Sentry-IV’s bombardment made him feel annoyed. ’This bastard!’ But at the same time, it told him that this Mechanist was not all about being nerdy and gathering information.
He finally understood the reason why Leon dared to barge into his hideout in such a bold manner and why the Mechanist was always so annoying.
This was because hidden behind his confidence was power.
He actually had the ability to back up his confidence. To the Lt. Colonel, this was both annoying and reassuring at the same time because it told him that with Leon moving like this, then he had a chance of killing his 2nd ever D Rank Ascended today.
The moment the Sentry-IV Autocannon Drone activated its thrusters after slaughtering all the terrorists who came to the surface, Umar knew that it was his time and he didn’t hesitate.
He followed the plan.
With his Rifle Shotgun on his right hand, he finally moved and jumped out of the Sentry-IV straight into one of the holes that were shot open inside the underground terrorist base.
Thud!
He landed on one knee, then his ADE flared.
Bio-Scan!
Within milliseconds, Umar’s pheromone and heat senses spread like a plague across the entirety of the first level of the underground terrorist base, counting more than 100 terrorists who were still alive.
He could sense majority of them who were close to him and were not dead already reacting to his presence, turning and pointing their guns at him.
BZZZ!
His orange ADE flared again.
Blood Manipulation- Supernova!
All the blood that were already spilled by Leon’s initial slaughter with the Sentry-IV Autocannon Drone rose up under Lt. Colonel Umar’s will like living blood, congealing to form thick oval particles like crimson bullets, then they exploded outward.
Bam... bam... bam...
The crimson blood bullets tore through the terrorists who were around the Lt. Colonel with impunity!
More terrorists collapsed dead.
This was not a regular Blood Manipulation technique, Supernova was a technique that Lt. Colonel Umar Farouq figured out after decades of practicing his Blood Manipulation ability.
With Supernova clearing the immediate area around the Lt. Colonel, Umar finally rose to his feet as he pointed his Rifle Shotgun at the terrorists who were now charging towards him from inside.
He didn’t even need to aim, they were too many of them and though they tried to hide behind obstacles to aim at him, with his Bio Scan, he saw every single one of them at HD quality.
He pulled the trigger.
BAM... BAM... BAM...
While shooting, Lt. Colonel Umar started jogging forward deeper into the terrorist base and his jog soon turned into a sprint.
While sprinting, he kept on shooting, gunning down the terrorists at a crazy efficiency.
They retaliated but he countered...
Bio Armor!
The bullets fell off helplessly off the carapace armor protecting him.
And as he sprinted deeper, arriving in an area with a dense concentration of terrorists, his orange ADE flared again.
Organic Weaponry!
BZZZ!
Umar’s left hand expanded and elongated, turning into a long and sharp black blade whose edge gleamed ominously.
He dove into the midst of the terrorists, then his hand moved.
Whoosh... whoosh...
A slaughter followed!
He carved through the terrorists, spilling blood everywhere even as they were helpless to stop him and far behind him, his ally finally descended into the underground base from one of the openings that the Sentry-IV forced open.
With a Terra Nova 71 Rifle placed casually on his shoulder, Leon looked at the destruction that his ally left in his wake and clicked his tongue.
"Damn, you’re having all the fun".
He pulled the Rifle with his right hand, and with his left fingers he settled the regulator of the Rifle on the first slot and took aim, then he pulled the trigger.
BOOM!
Headshot!
One shot, one kill.
His grayish white ADE flared, flowing and curling around his arms like a snake, focusing on the Rifle.
Enhance!
BOOM!

One shot, three kills!
Leon was the perfect support to the rampaging D Rank Bio-Crafter.
With Lt. Colonel Umar Farouq rampaging at the front, he had all the time in the world to cherry-pick his opponents from the back, taking out all the E Rank Ascended terrorists in the underground base one shot at a time.
They moved deeper into the underground base each minute, deliberately acting like they didn’t know about the 2nd layer underground base.
To the terrorists on the 1st layer though, it was a disaster as nothing they did managed to create a dent or even a nick on their enemies. Not even suicidal moves and explosions managed to injure the enemies.
They were just too strong.
Within just 10 minutes, they slaughtered more than 90% of all the terrorists inside the terrorist base, leaving barely a dozen of them as they huddled together inside a corner of the underground base, shivering in fear.
It looked like a coincidence and well, coincidentally, this place where they huddled together was directly on top the most important chamber further underground in the hidden 2nd terrorist underground layer.
Bam!
Umar grabbed one of the surviving E Rank terrorists by the jaw and slammed him against the wall.
He growled. "Tell me, where is Dhruv Laden?!"
