Global Survival: I Got the D-Rank Personnel Simulator

Chapter 356: Battle in the Dark

The area outside the prison gate was pitch black. Lin Ye merely touched the darkness with his finger and was instantly enveloped by it, returning to the Black Prison.

'Is the area outside the prison the Black Prison? However, after touching the darkness, I returned directly to the camp. The Black Prison and the prison probably aren't directly connected.'

After eating some food and resting for a while, Lin Ye was just about to close his eyes and return to the prison when he detected an abnormal flow of air beside him.

A sharp stone grazed Lin Ye's cheek. If he hadn't dodged, the tip would have plunged into his eye socket.

Lin Ye delivered a short-range punch to the attacker's chest. The opponent's body instantly stiffened. Lin Ye followed up with a left palm strike to the right side of the opponent's jawbone, using the short-range explosive force and Spiral Intent to snap the enemy's cervical spine.

The enemy's movement method was extremely bizarre. Lin Ye only became aware of their presence the moment they launched their attack.

Being targeted by such an enemy was extremely dangerous, so Lin Ye couldn't possibly let them go.

Numerous footsteps approached from all around. Lin Ye held his breath and moved towards the nearest set of footsteps.

In terms of stealth and backstabbing, he wasn't as professional as the enemy he just faced, but he still possessed considerable skill.

The prisoners closing in threw stones at Lin Ye's last known position. These men had considerable strength, and each one threw to a different spot. Their coordination was remarkably practiced, clearly indicating this wasn't their first time doing something like this. But Lin Ye was no longer there.

Lin Ye snapped another prisoner's cervical spine, then casually took two stones well-suited for throwing from the corpse.

Hearing the sound of a body hitting the ground, the prisoners hastily turned and hurled stones in that direction. Some prisoners tried to predict Lin Ye's movement, but their predictions were exactly opposite to the direction Lin Ye was actually moving.

While the prisoners were throwing their stones, Lin Ye seized the opportunity to launch his own. Two prisoners were struck in the temple. The sharp stones severed their middle meningeal arteries. Arterial blood sprayed out, and they collapsed to the ground without a sound.

Two prisoners pinpointed Lin Ye's location and threw stones based on their prediction of his movement, but they hit nothing.

Because Lin Ye hadn't moved at all.

There were still many prisoners around, and none of them were simple. He was currently just an ordinary person. If injured, he would die here. Therefore, he had to proceed with extreme caution.

The prisoners lost track of Lin Ye's position. One prisoner walked near Lin Ye's location. Lin Ye held his breath, standing as still as a corpse.

That prisoner failed to notice Lin Ye and passed right by him.

"No one over here."

"None on my side either."

"Probably ran off."

"What do we do?"

"Head back first."

...

The prisoners withdrew from the camp. Lin Ye silently trailed behind them, following them back to their own camp.

He disliked trouble, so his habit was to resolve it at the first opportunity.

Lin Ye didn't follow too closely. Due to his different cognitive framework, his five senses were somewhat sharper than an average person's.

It took an hour for Lin Ye to follow these prisoners to their camp. Along the way, they took several detours and frequently checked behind them.

Lin Ye didn't follow the prisoners into the camp. A group like this, fond of ambushing other prisoners, would definitely have set up traps within their camp to prevent being ambushed themselves.

Furthermore, there were two prisoners standing guard outside the camp. Only by dealing with them could he enter the camp undetected.

Lin Ye inched his way to the side of one of the guards. Finding the right angle, he struck instantly, clamping his hand around the prisoner's throat and twisting his neck.

Since the other guard's view was blocked by his comrade's body, he remained completely unaware of what was happening.

Lin Ye leaned against the prisoner's corpse as it slowly slumped to the ground. In one step, he moved beside the other guard, snapping his neck before he could make a sound.

After setting down the body, Lin Ye stood outside the camp for a moment. A faint scent of mushrooms wafted out from within.

Lin Ye dropped to the ground and crawled forward slowly, like a beast. The camp was planted with a large number of mushrooms. Stepping on one would transfer its scent.

Avoiding areas with a strong mushroom odor, Lin Ye began dealing with the prisoners lying on the ground. Some prisoners clearly still showed lingering effects of the Berserk rune. These prisoners were likely the ones who set the rules within the group.

Lin Ye was highly efficient. Before long, he had eliminated most of the prisoners in the camp. He was careful, but a prisoner still noticed the bodies he had left behind.

That prisoner shouted a warning to the others. Lin Ye didn't stop his work. Amidst the chaos, he dispatched several more nearby prisoners.

The remaining prisoners began to flee. The surrounding corpses had already terrified them. They had dealt with many new arrivals, but this was the first time they had encountered such a horrifying situation.

Lin Ye sensed the air currents around him. The positions of every prisoner were within his grasp. Stones flew out one after another, striking each prisoner in the head with unerring accuracy.

Soon, every prisoner in the entire camp had been killed by him... except for that woman with the twisted smile.

That woman was very clever. She hadn't made any significant movements and carried no discernible scent.

Lin Ye continuously tossed the stone in his hand up and caught it. No matter how many times it spun, the sharp edge always pointed upwards.

"I've already told you my location. Still don't dare to make a move? The entire camp is only so big. Guess how long it would take to walk a full circle?"

Tossing the stone, Lin Ye strolled through the camp. His situation wasn't actually favorable, but he had no choice. Making the first move would expose his position. Since he had no intention of letting the woman go, he couldn't run out of the camp to hide.

Anyone capable of controlling this many prisoners was no ordinary individual. Therefore, Lin Ye had to maintain intense focus to counter the woman's potential ambush.

The woman also understood the current predicament. Until Lin Ye found her, she absolutely would not act rashly.

"How should I address you? Brainwashing MLM expert? Or perhaps, Your Holiness, the cult leader?"

Sound is also a form of vibration. Lin Ye didn't raise his voice particularly loud, but in this relatively confined space, this level of vibration was sufficient.

Lin Ye suddenly spun around and hurled the stone in his hand with force. Not far away, the sound of stone striking skull echoed.

'Wrong!'

Lin Ye instantly dropped flat to the ground, evading a fatal blow from behind.

The sound of hitting a skull meant the target hadn't dodged at all, as if he had struck a corpse.

Lin Ye remembered the position of every body. That particular corpse had been deliberately placed there by his opponent.

Having dodged the fatal strike, the woman didn't stop. She ran straight for the camp exit.

Lin Ye pushed himself up and threw a stone in the direction of the fleeing woman.

Hearing the sound of the projectile, the woman hastily sidestepped to avoid it. But the stone adjusted its trajectory mid-air, striking her squarely in the back, hitting her thoracic vertebrae.
