Global Survival: I Got the D-Rank Personnel Simulator

Chapter 333: Chaotic Battlefield

"But wouldn't such uniforms be a problem if the enemy got them and changed into them?"

Lin Ye, somewhat puzzled, drew his Dark Dawn, sensing something approaching from outside the trench.

The Spiritual Energy Concentration in the environment was very high, making him feel extremely comfortable.

A fourth-tier gray-green lizard with three heads appeared outside the trench. Lin Ye directly stabbed through all three of its heads with a Compressed Spiritual Energy Blade. An enemy of this level wasn't worth wasting bullets on.

"Alienation beasts? Those should be fairly easy to handle."

Just as Lin Ye was about to set up some rune traps nearby, he sensed a deadly chill focusing on his forehead.

Time seemed to slow to a crawl. A slender bullet appeared not far outside the trench, aimed directly at Lin Ye's forehead. If he hadn't instinctively used mental acceleration, his head would have already been blown apart.

He had just entered the battlefield, and Lin Ye was already facing a lethal crisis.

Mental acceleration couldn't be used consecutively. If he didn't do something, the next shot might very well hit his head.

Lin Ye reverse-calculated the enemy's position based on the bullet's angle and quickly pinpointed their location. Time resumed its flow. A spiritual energy shield, layered with a spinning technique, materialized before Lin Ye, deflecting that bullet.

*Thump!*

Lin Ye fired a shot with his Dark Dawn towards the enemy's location. The bullet accurately hit the sniper who had ambushed him.

The trench couldn't withstand the passionate exchange of fire from both sides, and Lin Ye clearly came out on top.

Because the other guy was already dead.

Just as Lin Ye thought about going over to take a look at the enemy's corpse, he felt that icy chill again, multiple times over.

More enemies had him in their sights, and not just one.

A subterranean mawed worm burst from the ground, its sharp fangs snapping towards Lin Ye's body. Before it emerged, Lin Ye hadn't sensed anything underground at all.

Simultaneously, bullets shot towards Lin Ye's vital points from various directions. If any hit, each bullet here could tear his body apart.

Of course, that was assuming they could actually hit their target.

Compressed, spinning, full-coverage, new-style spiritual energy shield.

A layer of spiritual energy protection enveloped Lin Ye's entire body. All the bullets were deflected by this shield, with one bullet piercing into the subterranean mawed worm's body, shooting straight through it.

Lin Ye let the worm bite onto the spiritual energy shield, then used a Compressed Spiritual Energy Blade through that bullet hole to stab the subterranean mawed worm to death.

Gunfire rang out again in the distance. Lin Ye, following the bullet trajectories, emptied his magazine at the surroundings.

Bullets were deflected by the spiritual energy shield, which was on the verge of collapse. Lin Ye reloaded a fresh magazine and fired at any positions that still showed movement.

A cluster of balloon-like heads floated above Lin Ye. Those heads stared at him, mouths muttering incessantly.

Lin Ye's mental energy was affected somehow, preventing him from performing precise operations.

'What the hell are all these things?! What kind of battlefield was I even assigned to? Where are my teammates? This war can't possibly be just me on one side, right?'

If that were the case, Lin Ye planned to kill ten enemies and then just slip away.

The heads above burst one by one like balloons. Lin Ye, enduring their mental influence, used Compressed Spiritual Energy Blades on them. Due to the mental interference, he couldn't control the force well and had to just blow them all up.

Only after those heads were destroyed did the battlefield quiet down a bit. Lin Ye sensed his surroundings, searching for allied forces in this war.

A shadow suddenly appeared above him. Lin Ye looked up and saw a floating island composed of flesh and blood.

Numerous fleshy monsters rained down from the floating island like a downpour. Dozens landed near Lin Ye, quickly converging on him, wanting to devour the most obvious living being nearby.

Before those flesh-and-blood creatures could get close, Lin Ye sliced their bodies open with backstab spiritual energy blades. Blood gushed from their bodies, converging into the palm of his hand.

One withered corpse after another fell to the ground. Lin Ye stood amidst the corpses, continuously collecting the blood from within those fleshy monsters.

'What the hell are all these things?'

Lin Ye gazed at the distant flesh-and-blood island while absorbing the spiritual energy from the surrounding environment.

He compressed the spiritual energy within his body, attempting to use this compressed energy to reinforce his body once more.

Only this way could he break through his current physical limits.

Since there were no allies, he decided to advance his cultivation first before participating further in this war.

At that moment, a humanoid figure wearing a black robe appeared in the distance. This humanoid held a black book and was approaching Lin Ye step by step from afar.

Lin Ye vaguely felt this humanoid was somewhat dangerous, but he couldn't pinpoint exactly where the danger lay.

The humanoid gradually drew closer, a malicious smile plastered on its face.

Lin Ye tried to backstab it with a Compressed Spiritual Energy Blade, but he stabbed nothing, as if the figure was merely an illusion, its true body not existing here at all.

Seeing the opponent's state was so bizarre, Lin Ye reloaded a fresh magazine into his Dark Dawn and fired a shot at the humanoid.

*Thump!*

The bullet accurately struck the humanoid's forehead. Its head exploded, its contents splattering everywhere.

"Keep laughing now? Why'd you stop?"

After dealing with the enemy using rune bullets mixed with special materials, Lin Ye drained the blood from within the humanoid's body, merging this clearly abnormal liquid, different from normal blood, into his blood sphere.

Just then, Lin Ye suddenly saw a soldier wearing a uniform very similar to his own rapidly approaching from the distance. Honestly, seeing the other person, Lin Ye felt a bit moved. So this wasn't a war he was fighting alone.

The soldier passed by Lin Ye's vicinity without stopping, only giving him a strange look as he passed.

"..."

Lin Ye quickly followed behind the soldier. He didn't know what the other was going to do, but he didn't ask, because the soldier hadn't spoken when passing by Lin Ye.

This might be some special mode of communication. Speaking casually could easily alert the other party.

Lin Ye swiftly dealt with the fleshy monsters gathering nearby. The soldier moved very fast;

if Lin Ye didn't hurry, he'd easily lose him.

In the distance, a mountain of flesh composed of meat appeared within their line of sight. Some soldiers wearing the same uniforms were dealing with that fleshy mountain.

Occasionally, snipers on the battlefield would ambush them. Lin Ye kept his spiritual energy shield active as he ran forward, finding moments to return fire with his Dark Dawn.

The sky was filled with all sorts of chaotic monsters wandering about. These monsters frequently attacked Lin Ye from afar. Lin Ye could only dodge the attacks with quick movements;

his mental energy couldn't reach those monsters.

Dark Dawn's bullets were limited;

he wanted to conserve some.

Soon, Lin Ye followed the soldier to the center of the battlefield. This place was far more chaotic than the battlefield's edge. Various monsters and large numbers of soldiers were locked in fierce combat here.
