Global Survival: I Got the D-Rank Personnel Simulator

Chapter 210: Camp Night Meeting

Lin Ye ignored the two head students whispering beside him; he still had a lot to handle.

The size and range of the flesh puppets and bone traps depended on how much material was used. Lin Ye packed the finished flesh puppets and bone traps into woven bags, then picked up the bags and left the Administrator Cabin to start laying traps around the camp.

This was Lin Ye’s first time setting traps and cameras. At first he seriously considered where each trap should go, but he soon realized there was no real need to think—one glance and he could find the best spots to place them.

‘...Why do I even have a talent for setting traps? I have way too many talents. Could these talents be related to the mask? But the mask didn’t appear when I was learning to drive...’

Lin Ye felt something was off, but lacking the necessary information, he couldn’t figure out how these talents worked.

‘Forget it—deal with the cult first. The rest can wait.’

Lin Ye quickly placed flesh puppets and bone traps at various points throughout the camp. After finishing this round of traps, he still had to deal with the corpses in the storeroom.

“Teacher, we want to help too.”

The two head students hadn’t stayed in the Administrator Cabin; they followed behind Lin Ye. Those people were the reason they had become what they were now, and they didn’t want to keep hiding forever.

“Don’t call me teacher. I’m the Mask-Wearing Killer now. You can call me the Masked Figure, or any similar name.” Lin Ye did not want those cultists discovering who was behind their losses.

“Okay, Brother Mask, you’re taking on those cultists, right? Do you need us to do anything?”

Head Student Number One asked.

“You can find a place to hide for now. Later, help me collect the bodies into the tunnels, and you can help set traps afterward.”

Since the students wanted to help, Lin Ye wouldn’t discourage them, and he did need some assistants.

He told them the locations of some tunnel entrances.

“All right, we’ll hide now.”

The two head students ran to hide near the camp entrance.

After dealing with Driver Wang’s body and finishing the traps and cameras, Lin Ye returned to the underground tunnels to wait for the enemies to enter the camp.

…………………………

“High Priest, Fat Man, Li Yang, and the possessed one are all missing. Those two materials followed Li Yang into the ruins. Only Li Xu is still online, but he doesn’t know what happened.”

In the vehicle, a cultist in a black robe reported.

“Useless. Time is almost up. You’ll take people in and bring out all the offerings, especially those two main offerings.”

The High Priest was furious—the ritual was about to begin. They had only planned to perform it in the city; they didn’t expect such a major problem at the camp.

By the time they received the news, it was already a bit late.

“Yes.”

Although a little late, if everything went smoothly, there was still time.

“Haven’t they found out why they disappeared?”

The High Priest asked.

“Not clear yet, but Li Xu said it might be related to the Mask-Wearing Killer from twenty years ago.”

The cultist was speechless. Usually killers hunted ordinary people; this was the first time he’d heard of a killer specifically hunting cultists.

“Twenty years ago? How come I never heard of it?”

The High Priest had lived in the city for over ten years and had never heard of a killer at the ruins.

“They say it was sealed because they couldn’t catch the person.”

The cultist glanced at the messages Li Xu had sent; they contained rumors about the killer with no obvious holes—likely true.

“That makes sense... If there really is a killer, remember to bring the bodies back. They should make good materials.”

The High Priest glanced at the information and said.

“Yes.”

Looking at the Visit Camp not far away, the cultists began organizing their gear. They weren’t afraid of any killer—everyone carried firearms, and the rumors said even a handgun couldn’t stop the killer.

……………………………

Hearing the vehicle, Lin Ye picked up the firewood chopper, ready to fight.

Not long after, through the flesh puppets he observed some cultists entering the camp. They wore identical black cloaks and carried various models of firearms.

Once inside, the cultists split up across the camp.

They needed to take all the students to the depths of the ruins, especially those two main offerings.

But before they could break into the cabins, many stepped onto bone traps, and a chorus of agonized screams echoed through the camp.

Lin Ye had already crawled through the tunnels to get behind the cultists. He cleanly killed several isolated cultists from the rear and seized their guns.

He handed the bodies to the head students to throw into the tunnels, then continued finishing off others. Cultists who triggered a bone trap would lose at least one lower leg; even if Lin Ye didn’t finish them, without timely bleeding control they’d be unlikely to survive.

With the flesh puppets providing locations, Lin Ye easily dealt with those crawling on the ground trying to escape the camp.

Of course, not all cultists tripped the bone traps—some lucky ones noticed the trap traces and avoided them.

But that didn’t matter. After finishing them off, Lin Ye returned to the tunnels and used the cultists’ corpses to make more bone traps. The finished traps were carried to the surface by the head students and placed near the surviving cultists.

Unless they stayed completely still, sooner or later they would step on a bone trap and become new trap materials.

While making traps, Lin Ye continued monitoring the surface through the flesh puppets.

Just as most cultists were immobilized by traps, one cultist suddenly changed direction and charged straight for Lin Ye’s cabin.

Lin Ye wouldn’t let it near Lin Jing—there were many bone traps on that route.

But those traps did not affect this cultist. A mass of sharp bones slammed into its body without causing any harm.

Lin Ye hurried through the tunnel back to his room. Previously he had no answer for cultists who could resist bone traps, but now it was different—he’d managed to secure a batch of firearms.

Although Lin Ye had never used guns before, he understood their principle and how to use them, so there was no barrier to using them effectively.

He propped a handmade rifle against the window. He had intended to wait until the cultist got closer before firing, but the moment he picked up the rifle he found his shooting rhythm.

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

Lin Ye fired six consecutive shots. The first two bullets blew the cultist’s head apart; the remaining four hit its chest and abdomen.

The supposedly formidable cultist died just like that.

“Guns really are useful.”

Lin Ye remarked.
