Chapter 618: Makes No Difference to Me

Point-of-View: Cleo Nova

I glanced to either side as two more men climbed up onto the top of the building, surrounding me.

"Surrender and come with us, woman. Show no resistance and his Majesty may deign to pardon your illegal use of Magic."

"Huh? Using Magic is illegal in this world? But wait, didn’t you just use Magic to jump up here?" I inquired with a frown, as I glanced at the first guy.

Hm, as usual, I don’t have trouble talking to strangers if it’s an antagonistic interaction, it’s polite small talk that I can’t handle. Wonder why I’m like this?

"Are you daft? Women aren’t permitted to use Magic, don’t pretend like you don’t know such a basic law, wench," One of the others scoffed.

"Hm, perhaps it’s different in the world we summoned these so-called Heroes from. How ludicrous. I can’t imagine what kind of a heretical society they must come from."

"It stands to reason. The pair that appeared in the castle murdered all our comrades, in the sacred throne room, no less."

"Look, this one seems to have gotten rid of her Enslavement Collar as well. Two women, possibly more, and they all seem to be savages, no doubt they’re Commoners."

"Of course they are, Nobles would never act in such a disgraceful manner."

"Withdraw the Vampire and surrender yourself. We will not ask again."

Hm. So, evidently, I’ve found myself in a sexist, classist society. Guess it’s medieval in more ways than one. Yeah, fuck these guys.

Let’s take a look, Appraisal...huh, they’re pretty week. In comparison to Hunters, they’re all around upper-Q Rank to lower-K Rank range, with Power Levels between 200,000 to 300,000.

As for their Magic, I’m up against Wind, Lightning and Ice. And it looks like two of them have linked with one Spirit each, and the third has two Spirits.

"Hey, are you deaf or something? Surrender, now!"

"Yeah, how about no? Instead, you’re going to be my test subjects...but don’t worry, I’m only going to kill two of you. And as for whichever of you ends up being the lucky third, you’ll answer my questions," I remarked, cracking my knuckles.

"How vile, for a women to speak back to us in such a manner."

"Agreed. Let’s put this bitch in her place."

"Alright, Carmilla, time to see what you’re capable of. <Spirit Fusion, Vampire: Carmilla>," I chanted, simultaneously activating my Dragon Wind Skill and triggering a burst of wind to knock the men back, startled cries ringing out.

"<As you wish, Master>," Smiled Carmilla, her body glowing brighter as she floated towards me, before flowing into me.

I tensed slightly as an immense surge of power erupted inside me, my hair fluttering and turning white, except for the blue-dyed ends which remained the same, my skin turning more pale as I felt the top of my ears narrowing into a more pointy shape.

My teeth and nails extended into fangs and claws, before I let out a slow exhale as the surge of power settled.

Hm...looks like her stats have been added onto mine, except for MP, of course. And it feels like I can’t stack Mostrification on top of this, though I should still be able to use Partial Mostrification.

This boost isn’t quite as significant as Mostrification is, but it’s still a pretty massive increase in power.

"I-Impossible, how can she already use Spirit Fusion?! It takes years of training to master, and even then, only a select few achieve it!"

"Thanks for the handy exposition. Think I’ll spare you and kill the others," I remarked, before turning my gaze to the one with Wind Magic.

He stiffened before drawing out a sword with a hateful glare, chanting...

"N-Now, [Spirit Summoning, Aero Bird: Gale]!"

A large bird with glowing green feathers appeared before him, streaks of wind swirling around its wings.

"[Spirit Summoning, Thunder Lizard: Spark]!"

A glowing lizard with electric blue scales, about the size of a big dog, appeared before him, sparks of lightning crackling around its body.

"[Spirit Summoning, Frost Pixie: Snowflake], and [Spirit Summoning, Imp: Claw]!"

A small, fairy-like creature that looked like a little glowing woman with dragonfly wings and an icy blue complexion, and a Goblin-like humanoid beast with horns, appeared on either side of him.

"You guys done? Alright, I’ll make the first move, then," I remarked, before I shot towards the bird, whipping my right arm across as it began to charge up wind.

I fired out a rapid slashing wave of blood from my fingertips as the bird simultaneously unleashed a burst of wind, but my attack cut right through with ease, before hitting the bird and splitting it in half.

The bird’s Summoner stumbled back in shock, before tensing and raising his sword as I lunged straight at him, forming a blade of blood along my right hand.

Wind swirled around his blade as he began to swing it down, but he was far too late. I plunged my blood blade straight through the middle of his throat, a choked gasp of pain ringing out.

As blood gushed out of his mouth, I gave the blade a violent twist and rapidly dragged it across to the left, sliding it out through the side of his neck.

He collapsed onto his knees as his head fell to his right and thudded against his shoulder, attached to his neck by a threat, as a fountain of blood sprayed out of his neck.

I then raised my left hand and formed a shield of blood as a lightning bolt and a volley of ice shards came shooting towards me, blocking the attacks and turning my gaze to the two remaining men.

"Well, this has been underwhelming. Hm...sorry, which of you did I say that I’d spare again? I forgot."

"Y-You damned wench...!"

"Whatever. I suppose it doesn’t really matter. Either way, one of you lives and one of you dies. It makes no difference to me which is which," I shrugged in response.
