Chapter 617: Vampire
Point-of-View: Cleo Nova
———————————————————————————
Hm. Okay, I think I get it now. This is one of two possibilities. One, I somehow traveled a few centuries back into the past. Or two, I’m in a different world entirely.
And based on the evidence, I’m leaning more towards the latter possibility. I really don’t think this is Earth.
After I spooked that maid, I jumped the fence and ran, ducking into an alley and getting up onto the rooftops, where I’ve been hiding out and people-watching.
And I just saw a guy conjure up some ice chunks with Magic and dropped them into his drink.
Right before my senses got overwhelmed after Ciel’s explosion triggered that surge of energy, I’m pretty sure I saw something like a Magic circle around my feet, I think the others had it too.
Did we get transported or summoned to a whole other world?
My I-Watch is mostly useless right now, I can’t use it to communicate since I don’t have a connection. Well, if nothing else, I can at least use it to keep track of the time.
More importantly, how do I go about finding the others? Are they even here? It’s possible that all of us ended up in different worlds to each other.
If that’s the case, I’m screwed.
Damn it, this isn’t fair!
It had been such a fun day, and I was looking forward to going home and sleeping off the heavy meal I had, only to end up in who knows where?!
Also, something feels...off. Not sure what it is, but there’s a sensation in me that wasn’t there before.
Hm, I wonder...
I brought up my System display, before my eyes widened as I spotted an unfamiliar addition in the screen, before clicking on it:
Spiritual Magic:
Summon Spirit
[Spirit 01]
[Spirit 02]
[Spirit 03]
Spirit Fusion
Uh...what is this?
I suppose I might as well check it out. I tentatively clicked on the Summon Spirit option, before a secondary display popped up, with a long list of, uh...Monsters?
Are spirits just Monsters, but like, more ghostly or something?
Looks like I can choose upto three of them, each one has a brief description of its abilities, and they’re ranked from E to S, I’m guessing the ranking correlates to how powerful they are.
Oh, looks like I can’t change my mind after making my choices. Better go through as many options as possible and carefully consider which ones to go with.
Hm...most of these abilities are pretty similar to the abilities I already have. Don’t suppose there’s anything here that could help me get back home? That’s probably too good to be true, but I might as well look for one.
Oh, I see Vampire, that sounds good! Let’s see...it’s S-Ranked, and has the ability to control and weaponize its own blood. Is it similar to Aarav’s Magic?
There’s no mention of blood-sucking or turning into a bat or any other typical Vampire tropes, I guess blood manipulation is the extent of what this world’s Vampires can do.
Okay, what else?
I scrolled through the list for a while, a few other options catching my eye, but unfortunately, I didn’t see anything with an ability that could let me get back home.
Oh, I know, I’ll just summon a Vampire first, and ask it for some insight!
Okay, here goes.
As I clicked on the Vampire option, my System display popped up...
<Summoning Spirit: Vampire>
<Identified Target>
<Establishing Link>
<Link Established>
<Summoning Linked Target>
A burst of Mana erupted as a bright Magic circle appeared in front of me, eliciting a commotion from the people below as the Mana surged sharply, a blindingly bright glow shining out.
I quickly ducked back as a few of them saw me, letting out a groan...they definitely spotted me, that can’t be good. In hindsight, maybe I should’ve gone to a more isolated spot before trying this.
Suddenly, the glow disappeared, a figure appearing before me, down on one knee with their head bowed.
It was a woman with a glowing body, her skin ghostly pale. She had long, flowing white hair, crimson eyes, pointy ears, sharp fangs and claws, and was on the taller side, with a slender, attractive figure.
She wore a long, red dress that exposed her shoulders, with a slit across her right leg, and matching high heels on her feet.
"<What tremendous power...yes, you are truly worthy to be my Master>," The Vampire greeted me, lifting her head and meeting my gaze with a smile, a display popping up:

Huh, she’s at around mid-X-Ace level. And it looks like she has just one ability. Still, she’s far from weak, maybe it’s more a case of me being extra powerful by this world’s standards. What she said pretty much confirms that.
Alright, then...
"Yeah, I’m your Master, it’s nice to meet you. You cool with the name Carmilla?" I asked her.
"<Very well, as you wish, Master. Carmilla...yes, I quite like the sound of that>," She replied with a smile.
"Great. Now, then, I-...," I began.
"Up there, sir! There’s a woman there who summoned a Spirit!"
Oh, crap, I totally forgot about the commotion I caused!
I quickly sprang onto my feet and backed away, right as a gust of wind burst out and a man leapt onto the rooftop, narrowing his eyes at me.
He was wearing a uniform with armored plates on it, a disdainful look on his face as he stared at me, before stiffening as he glanced at Carmilla.
"I-It’s a Vampire! And the woman is wearing strange clothing, she must be one of the summoned Heroes!"
One of? Does that mean...the others are here too, after all?!
Alright, then...I was about to run away, but I’ve changed my mind. Let’s see if I can get some info here...
