Chapter 613: I’ve Made my Point Clear
A bright, blinding flash of purple burst out, followed by several cries of pain, as I blasted holes through several of the Knights, fatally wounding them as blood gushed out and splattered across the floor.
Rays of sunlight streamed in as my blast drilled through the wall in that direction, bits of rubble falling off as cracks spread out across the wall around the hole.
"First you summon us here with no warning, and then try to enslave us? Yeah, time to face the consequences of your dumbass actions," Remarked Aria, flames erupting around her fists.
"C-Capture them, at any cost! That’s an order! Commander Ferin, with me!" Yelled the King, the Knights starting to surround us as he frantically reached into his cloak, before pulling out a scroll and holding it up.
I swiftly fired out a piercing beam of Negative Energy at his arm, but I was too late, as he presumably activated the scroll and disappeared. I glanced across as the one he’d addressed as Knight Commander suddenly disappeared too.
Teleportation, huh?
"Tch, fucking cowards," I muttered, before glancing around as the Knights surrounded us, letting out a slow exhale before chanting as I scanned the area and locked onto all of them, "<Command: Don’t Move>."
"Wh-What...?!"
"M-My body, I-I can’t move!"
"What is this?!"
"Now, <Emerge: Apostles of Lust, Envy, Sloth, Wrath, Pride, Greed and Gluttony: Luxuria, Invidia, Acedia, Ira, Superbia, Avaritia and Gula>," I chanted, before stating as the seven of them appeared around me, "Kill them all."
"No, wait, keep two or three alive for questioning!" Called out Aria, as the Apostles rushed out.
A cacophony of screams of pain and agony rang out all around us as the Apostles swiftly massacred everyone in the throne room.
Sprays of blood and severed heads and limbs flew out all over the place, painting the room red. Not a single one of them was able to break free of the effect of Command, and the thirty second time limit of the effect was more than enough for the Apostles to finish exterminating all but three of them.
A Knight, one of the men in the hooded cloaks, and a man who’d been standing by the throne. For the sake of simplicity, I’ll refer to them as Knight, Mage and Noble, based on their appearances.
Luxuria restrained them with ropes of Negative Energy as the Apostles dragged the men over, setting them down in front of me.
"Alright, you bastards are going to answer my questions now, are we clear on that? Refuse, or lie to me, and I’ll kill you," I stated, getting straight to the point.
They look pretty shaken and horrified, good.
"Wait, Kai. We should probably get out of here first. We’re in a castle, backup will probably show up before too long. Let’s get out of the castle and find a secluded place where we can take them into our Pocket Dimension. We can question them all we want in there," Pointed out Aria, placing a hand on my arm.
"Yeah, good point. We also need to find the others, they were probably shackled with those Enslavement Collars too. But we need information first, we can’t just go searching blindly when we know absolutely nothing about our current situation," I nodded, taking a breath to compose myself, before glancing at the Apostles.
They picked up the three men, before we approached one of the windows, shattering it and taking a look outside.
There’s a large courtyard surrounding the castle, enclosed by tall walls. I withdrew Invidia, Superbia, Avaritia and Gula, since they can’t fly, before Aria and I unleashed Descent to manifest our wings.
We flew out the window, Luxuria, Acedia and Ira following along with us with the captive enemies in tow.
As we flew over the walls, a vast, bustling city came into sight, countless people milling about.
We swooped down towards an alley, making sure not to be spotted, ducking into it and landing down.
I opened a portal into Treasury’s Pocket Dimension, before stepping inside, Aria and the Apostles following me in.
"Wh-What is this bizarre Magic, I’ve never seen-...," Began the Mage shakily.
"Zip it. Keep your mouth shut until I say otherwise," I warned him icily.
As we all entered, I maxed out the time dilation of Pocket Dimension as I shut the portal. One minute out there will be one day in here, don’t want to take too long since we still have to find the others as quickly as possible.
But with the time dilation, I can take plenty of time to question these assholes, without keeping the others waiting too long.
"Now, then, let’s get right to it. If you guys don’t want to die, tell us everything you know. First, about this world. Specifically, the history, geography, present situation and how Magic works. And then, explain why we were summoned," I prompted them.
"G-Go to hell, scum, we will not betray our King and nation so easily, you-...!" Snapped the Noble, before trailing off and stiffening as Luxuria slipped behind him and pressed her claws against either side of his neck, stopping short as I quickly focused my intent on her to stop.
"Down, girl," I remarked with a wry smile, before turning my attention back to the Noble, "Unless you want your throat pierced, talk."
"Wh-Why should we-...?!"
"Because I won’t stop there...your family, friends, everyone you love, I’ll massacre them all," I threatened him maliciously.
"Y-You bluff, how could you possibly know who my-...?!"
"Oh, I have my ways of finding things out...Myron Ilka. That goes for the two of you as well, Triz Estayn and Kallem Halk," I remarked, as I used Appraisal on each of them, their faces going pale.
Hm, these displays, it looks like their Magic works a lot differently to ours. But I can get to that later. For now, I’ll focus on finding out more about this world and its Magic.
"Now, I believe I’ve made my point clear...so, last chance. Answer my questions or die."
