Alpha's Lost Luna Returns With His Twins

Chapter 349-I Know Her Dark Secrets

Kash:

Years ago:

Iris’s growing health issues were bothering me a lot. I was deeply concerned for her.

Every waking second felt like death to me. And I felt helpless sitting on my throne, unable to save my own Luna from whatever pain she was going through.

And the part where I had to hide her sickness from her felt like I was betraying her for some reason, but I knew why I was doing it.

If there was no cure, if I did not know how to save her, then telling her about her sickness was pointless. It would only worry her.

Several worries kept emerging in my head, and one of them was what I would do if anything happened to her.

No, I did not want to think about it. But that was the truth.

She was in a condition that was worrisome.

"Kash, someone is here to see you," Walkin said, knocking on the door of my office to announce someone’s arrival.

"Did they take an appointment? Did we have a meeting?" I asked in confusion, checking my wristwatch.

"Um, not really. She says she really needs to speak with you. It is important," Walkin uttered, gesturing to the urgency of it.

"Do you know who she is?" I asked him in confusion.

"Not really," he replied, making me realize she was not someone we had worked with or one of our clients.

"However, I will say, you should really meet her. She looks like she needs help," he added, lowering his voice.

I immediately nodded.

"Okay, let her in," I said, fixing my posture in my seat.

A woman came in, covering her face with a cloth wrapped over her head. She was wearing a long black dress.

Her hands had bruises and burn marks. Her eyes looked empty.

She came in, and I immediately gestured for Walkin to get her water or something to eat.

"Have a seat," I said to her.

She stared at the seat and then shook her head.

"I will dirty an Alpha King’s property," she whispered, her voice filled with sadness, embarrassment, and shame.

"A property can never get dirty. It is people’s minds that are dirty. Please have a seat," I insisted softly.

The woman slowly lowered herself onto the seat. Her hands were shaking, and her eyes kept getting watery.

From her state, I could already tell someone had wronged her, and she had come here to complain about it.

And honestly, whoever had turned this woman into an empty shell of pain, I was ready to punish them in the harshest way to leave a clear message to others who were thinking of hurting someone innocent as well.

"You said you wanted to speak with me?" I asked her, fixing my coat.

She looked dull as she hugged herself and slowly removed the cloth from her head and face.

That was when I saw the horror on her face.

Her face was half burned, but it seemed like it had happened years ago. However, the scars remained.

She cleared the tears from her eyes and sighed once more.

"I must look scary to you," she whispered in a broken voice, a very soft yet painful smile covering her lips.

I immediately shook my head.

"No, you don’t," I told her, but the way she smiled and shook her head showed that she did not believe me.

"I am not looking for sympathy, don’t worry," she added, sounding even more broken.

I did not understand who might have done all that to her.

"You wanted to know what I came here to speak about with you?" she asked, and I nodded softly.

"It is about the woman you once dated," she uttered, lifting her dull eyes toward me. "Lara."

As soon as she said the name, bitterness covered her face.

My spine stiffened.

I had been getting messages from Lara. She never got off my back.

After cheating on me for some time, she had gone completely silent, and now she had suddenly emerged again.

However, I never intended to communicate with her again.

I was happily married to the most perfect woman in the world, and I did not mean to throw it away for someone like Lara.

But Lara did not seem to believe it. The way she reached out to me made it seem as if she did not take my marriage with Iris seriously.

"She killed my babies and then set me on fire while she dug a grave in the backyard for my babies," she said, clutching her dress tightly in her trembling hands.

It felt as if she had set me on fire with the accusations, but they did not make me defend Lara.

I was in shock at how little we know about some people and how much more they can be behind the scenes, behind everyone’s back.

"After that, I was forced to stay in their pack so that I would not leave or ever tell anyone what happened to me there," she continued, her voice shaking badly.

She went on accusing Lara of such a heinous crime in one breath.

I was not only in shock but also deeply disturbed for this woman as she started to cry.

I could not hold back my reaction either.

"You know what you are saying, right?" I asked her, leaning forward slightly.

She nodded her head very defeatedly.

"It is the truth," she said weakly, hugging herself again.

"I gave birth to her father’s children. She was fifteen, maybe sixteen at that time," she continued, her eyes filling with tears again.

"I am only coming back after so many years because that is when I could finally escape," she added, wiping her tears with the back of her hand.

"But I still seek justice," she said, her shoulders trembling.

"Because that woman will never stop," she continued bitterly.

"And her father, who was supposed to punish her for killing his children, simply turned his face the other way," she added.

"He chose her again over justice," she finished quietly.

"I guess he just realized that those children were already gone," she whispered, staring at the floor.

The woman was shaking badly.

She was only skin and bones, crying for her children.

And anger slowly built inside me as I listened to what I was learning.

"I will do my investigation. Do not worry. Justice will be served," I said to her.

Walkin was standing right at the side the whole time, getting teary-eyed.

"Walkin, give her the best residence to live in. Assign warriors to guard her and make sure she is treated properly," I ordered, turning slightly toward him.

"She will no longer be treated as a member of Lara’s pack. She will stay in my pack and she will be treated like my family. You get it?" I added angrily.

The woman teared up and buried her face in her hands.

"I only thought you would listen to me. I never thought you would...," she paused and began to sob.

I quickly got up from my seat and moved to her side, wrapping my arms around her in a gentle hug.

She began crying against me, hugging me tightly. It seemed as if she had not been hugged like that for years.

If Lara had not killed her children, they would probably have been with her by now. Lara was truly an evil woman.

As she broke the hug, I helped her get up.

However, I knew that I had to go and dig up their backyard.

Before that, I noticed her eyes landing on the table.

"I heard your Luna Queen is sick," she whispered, meeting my gaze.

"Yeah. I am trying to find out what is wrong with her," I replied casually as I adjusted the cloth she had been using to hide her face and rested it over her shoulders.

She did not have to hide her face anymore.

She was going to receive treatment, and she would start her life again.

I would help her get married too. To one of the finest men of my pack, if she chose.

After she had healed from all the trauma they had put her through.

And of course, I was furious with Lara’s father. That bastard had gotten a woman half his age pregnant, only for her to give birth so he could discard her children.

"Did you ever think about getting a blue water for her?" the woman asked.

My eyes narrowed.

She had told me her name earlier while telling her story, and it matched her hair color.

Red.

"What do you mean?" I asked, slipping my hands into my pants pockets.

"You should consider getting the Blue River water," she explained quietly. "It is the best cure."

Once she finished, I sent her off with Walkin.

But I kept thinking about what I had just learned.

Lara.

The Blue River water.

Everything.

Previously, I had never thought about playing anyone.

But after learning the ugly truth about Lara, I realized it would not be so bad to play her game with her.

But this time, I would be the one who won.
