Chapter 311 – Experimenting on living.
<<The construction of the outpost was completed.>>
<<Well, more exactly it will be used at the basic level.>>
<<Still, I will have to upgrade it.>>
<<The same apparently goes to the empire if both of us wish to make any bigger deals in the future.>>
<<But again, we can at least use it these two outposts to somewhat carry out the basic deal between us.>>
<<So right now we are doing deals at the moderated pace, not making extremely large deals in order to hide it.>>
<<I did managed to manifest some golems, which were traded for materials.>>
<<Materials because I want that construction of that outpost to be properly finished.>>
<<And as for magic?>>
<<Well... I’m keep trying to improve my metal magic and space magic... I’m getting better at it, but still... Hm... Yeah. It will really take me long to finish the research revolving these two attributes.>>
<<There is also that bird familiar that Ariava sent my way.>>
<<It was a very weird creature, a one that looked like a massive bird with four wings and six eyes, while having its entire body be combination of red and black colors.>>
<<Ariava posses ability to create her own familiars with magic.>>
<<She can use blood magic to creates creatures or use necromancy to manifest something.>>
<<...Ah.>>
<<Shit.>>
<<Necromancy.>>
<<I’ve should fucking asked about this!>>
<<If I’m going to do experiment on the livings beings again, the necromancy could be somewhat useful in that research... I think I also remember that Ariava wanted me once to devour the undead type dungeon that was near me, since there was good chance that the undeads and golems could create some interesting creatures.>>
<<...>>
<<Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.>>
<<FUCK!>>
<<...Now what the fuck do I do?>>
<<I mean, the necromancy isn’t exactly easy to learn.>>
<<Not only that, if the empire were to find out that I’m using necromancy, they could somewhat change the view they have on me.>>
<<But then again, if we think about long term solution, necromancy will definitely be essential if I plan research the living beings.>>
<<...>>
<<Welp? This sucks.>>
<<Still, I cannot really split focus WAY too much.>>
<<If I add the necromancy right now to my research list I’m currently doing, then it would definitely delay the other researches completion... I will have to delay necromancy into the future.>>
<<But for now?>>
<<Just focus what I have to deal with right now, since there is a lot.>>
<<The familiar arrived at my dungeon and delivered me a book.>>
<<[Gravity Affinity And Magic – Training and understanding.] – By: Kodui Kamui.>>
<<Ariava said that this book will allow me to learn gravity magic.>>
<<And... Oh boy.>>
<<From the get go it was hard at attempting the affinity.>>
<<I will be honest.>>
<<It sounds EASY! But once I’ve started trying to manifest affinity... Well, it is advance affinity for a reason.>>
<<God fucking dammit.>>
<<It would be nice if I had at least somewhat GOOD affinity towards any of the advance elements I’m researching!>>
<<BUT NO!>>
<<...>>
<<Maybe in future I will somewhat get some kind of enlightenment or something like that?>>
<<When researching earth magic it was honestly... Well, simple put, I was learning at the normal pace.>>
<<However, at one point I suddenly started getting better and better at it.>>
<<Apparently people call it "Magic Enlightenment".>>
<<Simple put, there is a chance that at one point, somebody may end up somewhat way better at specific element, making their mastery level over the level somewhat spike up.>>
<<My mastery over earth magic was like this... I’ve gotten way better at it after years of training and as I’ve researched it more and more, I’ve started obtaining way better picture what earth magic is, allowing me to obtain the enlightenment.>>
<<...But I haven’t gotten anything for the space magic though, even thought I’ve been learning it for years too.>>
<<...God dammit.>>
<<Anyway, the time would go by and so far? The peace continued.>>
<<The rebellion in the Mevon kingdom had been going on for few months now and from what I’m hearing from Porai and Ariava, it seems that the noble faction is straight up unable to contain the rebellion at all and at this rate it will be reaching soon a point civil war.>>
<<As for the Miorio kingdom? I didn’t really heard much. It seems they are still investigating the situation on their end.>>
<<That means we have still time.>>
<<The upgrading of the outpost continued forward, resulting in the two trade points being upgraded, allowing us to somewhat conduct bigger trades now.>>
<<And with that, I’ve obtained some monsters.>>
<<5 Grey wolves, 4 charge boars, 12 grass field slimes and 8 blue slimes.>>
<<They will do for now.>>
<<First thing first, slimes.>>
<<Slimes often possess a jelly like body, but it can varies from slime to slime.>>
<<Some can be more liquid like, while others maybe have their jelly body have special power like acid or stickiness.>>
<<The grass field slime posses a danger rank of G.>>
<<They are the weakens possible monsters out there.>>
<<They are small and they are really not fit for anything, other than eating grass.>>
<<The only reason why they are annoying is because they can sometimes eat some herbs that can be used for the medicine.>>
<<Not only that, but if they die in annoying place, their good could end up being left behind in annoying spots.>>
<<Nobody apparently wants to walk on the road, only to end up stepping into the slime remains.>>
<<However, these slimes remains do wither away somewhat fast the moment the slime dies.>>
<<Anyway, how a creature with weird body like this dies?>>
<<Core.>>
<<The slimes only posses a single main organ.>>
<<At the first glace it looks like a gemstone.>>
<<But in reality, it is both organic and gem like.>>
<<The core is connected to the entire body of the slime, allowing it to move and what not.>>
<<The most common way to kill a slime is this.>>
<<Destroy the core.>>
<<Damaging or destroying their jelly body will not truly harm the creature in any way, since their core can be used to produce more slime.>>
<<Not only that, but because of the unique nature of the slime cores, they straight up don’t age at all.>>
<<They also cannot get sick or anything like that. Meaning that the destruction is the only way they can die.>>
<<You can remove the core from the body of the slime, causing its jelly like body to stop working.>>
<<The moment the core is removed, their slime body will straight up going inactive.>>
<<The slime core will be able to produce more slime over time, however, if it doesn’t build up enough of it to cover up its entire body for specific amount of time, the slime core will die.>>
<<I was curios about the slime not because of their bodies, but because of their cores.>>
<<Gem that is also organic... Weird to say the least... But maybe I can use that core to somewhat research an ability to fuse the flesh with my golem craft?>>
<<The answer?>>
<<NOPE!>>
<<I’ve pretty much killed every single slime with my experiment and I’ve barely obtained anything.>>
<<Or more exactly, the test subjects were too weak and the core itself wasn’t strong enough.>>
<<Damn.>>
<<I will need somewhat higher evolved or somewhat larger slimes in order to conduct any real experiments on them.>>
<<As for the cores? They can be used as an alchemy or magic product... So, I guess they are good?>>
<<Still... I’ve really didn’t obtained anything good from them.>>
<<Shame.>>
<<...But as for the wolve type and boar type monsters? They were far more valuable.>>
<<For example, I used the past records I’ve had about the wolf beastman I’ve had before and used it to compare to the wolf monster I’ve researched.>>
<<The differences were there... HOWEVER! Thanks to these differences and the records of these two beings, I was somewhat able to use to produce interesting data that I can see already using in the future.>>
<<As for the charge boar? It also gave good amount of data.>>
<<Charge boars are low ranking monsters, but they have something that could break people bones.>>
<<Their charge.>>
<<They can only charge at full speed in one direction, meaning that if you are far away or know when they are about to charge, but if you get hit by it, it will definitely hurt.>>
<<I did experimented in the past on the charge boars remains, my golems managed to hunt them in the past when they wondered into my forest.>>
<<I’ve experimented on their corpse before... But experimenting on them now? The living versions non the less?>>
<<It gave me a better understanding how their bodies works, allowing me to obtain way more data... This is good.>>
<<It was already proven with the civilized races, that experimenting with the living beings is worth it.>>
<<And when they die? I can just us their extremely fresh not rotten corpses for other experiments.>>
<<It will take to somewhat create a golem type version of the research data I’ve obtained through experimenting on the living creatures.>>
<<But still. It is worth it.>>
<<However, these ones won’t work alone... No.>>
<<I need more variety. Different species, evolved species and what not.>>
<<This knowledge works! It is useful!>>
<<...But.>>
<<I do still wonder.>>
<<Could I possible use that knowledge to create myself that flesh golem?>>
