Chapter 310 – Method of transport.
<<Improving metal magic and space magic.>>
<<Creating an outpost for the trade deals between empire.>>
<<I already have my hands somewhat busy with the work at hand... But this next project will be as important as the recovery ability research.>>
<<What I’m trying to make is something called "Train".>>
<<Trains are large scale vehicles that travels on something like railway tracks.>>
<<The train have a set path that they can only fallow, but they are able to traverse great distances somewhat quick at the nonstop pace.>>
<<Not only that, they can have something called wagons, which can be made to either transport either large amount of stuff, for example creates filled with materials, or maybe be made to transport large number of people, which could be also used to transport soldiers.>>
<<Honestly when I’ve once asked Porai in the past about the methods of travels, she told me about existence of a train I was shocked! Does that mean that all the nations have ability to quickly move their troops around with those trains?!>>
<<But it seems no?>>
<<According to Porai, the construction and militance of both the train as well as railway tracks isn’t easy.>>
<<Not only that, but the entre pathway would need to be secured as well as protected.>>
<<In other words, if there is something like natural disaster, the railway tracks could end up destroyed, which could in turn cause incident for the train that could possible destroy it.>>
<<Not only that, there are things like monsters and bandits to consider, who may have a ways to attack the train and either destroy it or completely rob it.>>
<<There is also another problem.>>
<<War.>>
<<What if the enemy takes over the train and uses it to send their soldiers deep into your nation territory?>>
<<She said that obviously the best choice would be to move the train away as soon as the war starts in order to not let enemy get it.>>
<<But what if they need the train to evacuate the civilians? Or what about if the enemy plans on immobilizing the train in order to make sure it cannot move?>>
<<You need to not only make sure that the road itself is safe, but you also need to have some level of security on the road.>>
<<Not only that, if the train is hit with magic and it get forcefully derailed, then it could be over.>>
<<The train itself need to be no matter what not need to be equipped with heavy defenses and maybe being accompanied by good number of soldiers.>>
<<Not only that, but there is also a distance to consider.>>
<<If the train can only traverse only small distance, then what is the point of having it at all?>>
<<It would be way better and cheaper to just horses and caravans.>>
<<Many kingdoms can make trains, but they can’t really use them.>>
<<That is a problem.>>
<<She also told me about several other benefits as well as downsides of the train, giving me better understanding of it.>>
<<Honestly, I thought in the past of installing the trains in my territory... But considering what Porai said, it wouldn’t be worth it.>>
<<BUT! Then came idea!>>
<<What if I could large vehicle type golem that can transport my golems around?>>
<<Simple put, I will create very large golem whose only ability is transport.>>
<<However, the problem is obviously design.>>
<<If want to have that golem transport somewhat large amount of golems, which can have their sizes ranging from small to large, then the transportation golem will need to be large enough to transport them all.>>
<<Not only that, but there is weight to consider.>>
<<Obviously the more golems will be put inside of the transportation golem, the larger the weight would become.>>
<<...But what if the weight of the transportation golem that is boarded by several extremely heavy golems would result in the heavy golem sinking into the ground?>>
<<Not only that, but what if these golems would end up being used outside of my territory, traversing difficult terrain?>>
<<In that case, the weight pays a crucial role.>>
<<...>>
<<Is there a way to reduce it?>>
<<Or maybe even negate it?>>
"Huh... That is interesting subject." – said Ariava via the communication tool as the golem contacted their mother in order to ask for the help.
"You are trying to make something like a train for the golems... That is... Honestly speaking, it is extremely solid idea!"
(Honestly it is bit scary that he came up with that idea all on his own.) – thought excited Ariava.
"...Well, there are several ways you could possible make something have deal with the weight problem." – said Ariava.
"For example, you could make wind magic that pushes things upwards a bit, not much, but enough for the pressure of the weight to be somewhat reduced."
"You could also make a special item skill that causes weight reduction... Considering that your forget skills can affect beings such as golems."
(Wind magic, huh?) – thought Thauma.
(I can use it on a basic level, somewhat in combat too... But it is not my specialty.)
(That would mean I would need to develop my wind magic more and what not to craft that forget skill.)
"...Although." – Ariava continued as she revealed a big evil looking grim on her face.
"There exists elemental attribute that could somewhat deal with the weight problem directly."
"?"
{"There is one?"}
"Gravity."
"Gravity attribute belongs to more higher advance type of elemental attributes."
"A difficult element to master."
"However, one of the main abilities of the gravity magic is weight manipulation."
"You can increase or decrees weight of something with it."
"If you want something for short run, I suggest learning and developing your wind magic more."
"However, with your problem you have, you will need something for a long run."
"And here the wind magic will be nowhere near enough."
"You need gravity magic."
"..."
{"But you said that it is more higher advance type? Like metal or space attributes?"}
"Pretty much... Learning it won’t be easy nor it will be fast."
{"But I’m already busy with metal and space magic. I’m also from time to time improving my main attribute, earth."}
"Yeb. I know and honestly speaking, the difficulty is somewhat more closer to the space magic than metal magic."
"However, if you really plan on using these transportation golem for a long run, then ask yourself this."
"What is the best? Short term solution? Or long-term solution."
"..."
(Honestly speaking... I want to make these transportation golems as soon as possible.) – thought annoyed Thauma.
(But... Ariava is right.)
(I will be definitely using these golems in the long term... Maybe even probably all the time.)
(For example, if I had them in construction as well, the construction time will be noticeable reduced thanks to these golems quickly carrying out materials to the designated spots.)
(I don’t know if I will obtain more territory in the future... BUT!)
(Right now the transportation golems posses far more value then teleportation gate for me!)
(However... Obtaining affinity, growing it, researching it, training it, experimenting with it with items as well as trying to manufacture a forged skill related to it... It all will take time.)
"..."
(Still... Recovery as well as transport are my two biggest problems that I need to deal with as soon as possible.)
"..."
{"Gravity magic."}
{"Do you by any chance posses any book about it?"}
"So, you decided to go with it?" – asked smiling Ariava.
{"Yes."}
{"You are right. Temporarily solution will be not enough. I need gravity magic for my transport golem project."}
"Heh... I knew you would say that." - said Ariava as activated her pocket space, taking out what appears to be some kind of bracelet with 4 purple gems embodiment into it.
"Wait a moment. I will be right back."
Ariava closed her pocket space before then extending her arm which had the bracelet with gems on it.
"Apple Pie." – as she said these words, the bracelet activated, creating a what appears to be a somewhat oversized distorted purple colored wall which was at least two and half times bigger than Ariava.
However, this wall wasn’t seen through... But even so, Ariava walked right into it.
And the moment she did, she quickly found herself in something like a massive magazine.
She walked thought the massive unknown space that was filled with countless different object, be it bones, weapons, instruments, clothes and many other things.
And as she walked, she arrived at the section where there what appears to be some kind of mini library with several walls all around her that were filled with books.
She began looking around, walking and flying as she was looking through the shelfs, before then taking out one of the books and opening it.
(By the looks of things, I really had one.) – thought Ariava as she landed on the ground and then quickly left the mysterious storage, which she then closed off the pathway with her bracelet.
"Okay. I’m back." – said Ariava as she returned to the communication device.
"I’ve found a thing that you are looking for." – said Ariava as she shown off book to Thauma through the communication device.
"I can’t really leave the Warmur kingdom just yet, but I think I have a way to send it your way."
{"Thanks."}
{"I love you Ariava."}
"Me too, you little rascal."
"Take care." – said Ariava as she ended the call on her end.
"..."
"Thauma... What the fuck?" – asked Ariava herself that as she had a massive wicket smile on her face.
(He really does come up with nice ideas over and over again!)
(And all on his too!)
(Thauma development is way better than I’ve thought.)
(True, he is still weak... But at this rate?)
(He could end up becoming.... Well? SOMETHING!)
(Nice... Very fucking nice!)
(Honestly speaking, he was always restricted before, since he needed to obtain upgrades as soon as possible in order to survive.)
(But now? When he has sometime and can-do stuff freely?)
(Oh boy.)
(The main restriction that was holding him back all this time is gone.)
(And now he starting to and more how dangerous his potential truly is!)
"Ah... I’m looking forward to it all."
"Thauma."
