Lord Of Puppets

The situation was as fallows.

The invading army – The Crow Watchers, they were winning.

They were obviously not winning one sidedly or completely dominating the fight, however in the terms of losses and injuries, they were doing far better than golems.

However, as they continued fighting, the flood of golems did not stopped for a moment.

If anything, as they stopped in place and the army of golems was able to catch up to them, which in turn allowed the golems to slowly surround the elite soldiers.... But even as they started getting attacked from all directions, these soldiers were "elites" for a reason.

Even Thauma didn’t expected its golems to start getting so heavy destroyed.

Not only that.... But its experimental boss monster... Wasn’t looking so good.

"BOMBS SET!" – shouted the agile female black knight as she put in the bombs into the back of the giant earth golem’s top, before then leaping away as the giant tried grabbing her, jumping off the massive golem.

And right in the very next moment, a series of explosion occurred, which devasted a huge part of the golem.... Before moments later, the massive golem fell down and collapsed on the ground.

"GOT THE FUCKER!" – shouted the agility black knight.

(WHAT THE FUCK?!) – thought Thauma.

(I mean, I know it was a full experimental golem and everything, but it shouldn’t had fallen THAT quickly!)

(What were these explosives in the first place?!)

(Their fire power is nothing like I’ve ever seen!)

(....Okay... I mean, I know things would not completely as planned and stuff.... BUT HOW THEY TOOK IT DOWN ALREADY?!) – thought Thauma as it desperately looked around, trying to spot any other spot on the battlefield that also had these ’explosives’ going off.

"..."

(I don’t see anymore of these.... But this is still worrying....)

(How many of these explosives do they have?)

(Are these magic attacks?)

(Or maybe bombs?)

(Wait... Why didn’t they used them to blow up the trees?)

(Wouldn’t they have some path cleared....)

(Maybe they weren’t sure if there were more trees on the way or that they wanted to preserver these explosives as much as possible?)

(Either way.... This ain’t good.)

(I mean, I knew that they were strong, but this?!)

(This ain’t right!)

(They are wrecking my army!)

(Especially those black knights.)

(Some of them are way too strong.)

(They still take damage, meaning they can die... But they are strong.)

(There is not really that many of them compare to the number of the soldiers... But still, a presence of a single one of those bastards is more than annoying.)

(...But still... I can’t retreat now.)

(If I make the retreat issue now, they will give chase and destroy them.)

(Honestly, I was planning on avoiding having at least half of them be destroyed.... But as the things currently stands?)

(I should brace myself for those kind of losses now.) – thought Thauma as it then used the mechanism to cause several wooden logs to start falling around and hitting the invading army.

"LOGS AGAIN?! FOR FUCK’S SAKE! THOSE THESE FUCKING GOLEMS DON’T KNOW ANYTHING ELSE?!" – shouted pissed off black knight A.

"IT IS BETTER THAN A FUCKING PIT FALL THOUGH! SO, STOP COMPLAINING!" – shouted the black knight B as he started fighting a knight golem.

"Tch! Fine!" – said the black knight A as he resumed fighting.

"..."

"....Motherfucker." – said the black knight captain as he grabbed the crossbow bolt that was sticking out from his shoulder, before then just removing it.

(This is getting really freaking annoying.) – thought the black knight captain as the cavalry golem rushed in and swung around its polearms, its claws and jaws at the captain, who was on the full defensive, blocking and dodging the attacks, before then counter attacking with his sword, landing a solid blow on the side of the golem... But not dealing a critical amount of damage to it.

(I know my attacks are working, but that armor is annoyingly tough.)

(Especially around the joints.)

(They are far more durable.)

(I landed few blows on them already, but they are still going strong.... I need to land few solid blows to take him down.)

(However, the problem is those freaking polearms and crossbows.)

(They are keeping me at bay.)

(Should I try to disarm the top knight part first?)

(Even if I remove this bastard’s mobility, he can shot with crossbows... And I’ve already experience how deadly those things are.) – thought the black knight captain as the golem once again rushed at the man and started unleashing furies of attacks.

"WILL YOU PISS OFF ALREADY?!" – shouted the captain as he swung his blade, countering the polearms, before then bouncing away as creature tried biting the man down.

"..."

(I can beat him... But is this really it?) - thought the black knight as the assumed defensive oriented position.

(Why is nothing else happening?)

(Did the dungeon master already run out of the cards to play?)

(Or is that just it?)

(He plans to beat us with sheer numbers?) – thought the man as he was growing once again paranoid and stressed out.

(But how can I be so sure of that?)

(Considering how he fought.... No... He aimed for the large-scale battle from the start. He wanted it to happened no matter what.)

(Is it confidence?) – thought the man as cavalry golem rushed in once again, resuming the fight.

The battle continued and the chaos started enveloping more and more the surrounding area.

Metal parts and blood was stared to get scattered everywhere.

Both sides were sustaining losses and were constantly receiving damage... But even so, nobody cared as they continued fighting.

(Fuck me... I’ve already used the stuff I had on me?) – thought the red bow archer as he was hiding amongst the tree branches while drinking mana potions.

(Well, no surprise there. I’ve been spawning these highly explosive magic arrows not stop, so no wonder I’ve ran out of the mana even with mana potions at hand.)

(But still... I think they are doing good even without me?)

(Honestly, I was bit worried when I saw these two old boss monsters coming back somehow to action... But they are already getting wrecked? Heck! One of these four armed freaks already got destroyed!)

(I thought this will be a tough job after all that happened and the fact that we are now surrounded like this... But honestly? I think I can take it easy now and rel....?)

The man looked in the distance while using his skill, noticing in the dark a large number of movement coming from the side.

(Reinforcement.... And based on the speed, I think it is those dog things again?)

(No wait.... Something ain’t right.) – thought the red bow archer as he felt that something was fitting right.

"!?"

"SHIT!" – shouted the man as he was able to spot the creatures in question... Who were not hound boss monster nor the regular hounds.

But instead, a huge army of bomb hound golems.

(What the hell is the number of these things?! Before it was like 3 or 5 coming from one side at one time during an attack, but what the fuck are those numbers?!) – thought the panicking man as he then quickly turned around and saw a second wave of bomb hound hounds coming.

The red bow archer instantly understood the danger and began leaping from the tree to tree.

"GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE! NOW!" – shouted the red bow archer.

"?"

"What the fuck are you talking about?" – asked a black knight A.

"Yeah! We are winning here!" – replied the black knight B.

"FUCK WINNING! RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!" – shouted the red bow archer.

"WE GOT FUCKING PLAYED! YOU HEAR ME!? WE GOT FUCKING PLAYED!" – shouted the red bow archer as he looked back in panic and saw the bomb golems coming closer and closer.

(Shit!) - the archer tried generating fire and turning it into the arrow.... But the man did not recovered enough mana to create another explosive arrow, causing the man to panic as he then took out his regular arrows and began shooting at the incoming bomb hounds.... However, he couldn’t slow them down.

"FUCK! BRACE FOR IMPACT!" – shouted the red bow archer as the bomb golems used the golems at the front as their platforms, before then leaping into the air going straight for the invading soldiers.

The bomb hounds landed right in the middle of group of soldiers, before then blowing up, unleashing a devastating explosives alongside countless shrapnel going off in all directions.

...

However, there was a problem.

It wasn’t just like 3 to 5 explosions going off.

No.

It was a LARGE number of explosives going off left and right nonstop.

The knights and soldiers were completely caught off guard by the explosions and suffered a devastating amount of damage nonstop... Which resulted in nonstop flow of deaths.

Even mages who tried defending themselves with magical barriers did not stopped the attacks for long as there were just too many shrapnel and explosives going off, resulting in even quickly put up defensive lines being instantly destroyed.

"!?"

"WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON?!" – shouted the black knight captain as he saw the series of explosions going on, alarming the man as he instantly realized that something abnormal was going on.

But even so, the cavalry golem did not shown any mercy as it charged at the man and tried attacking him with the halberds.

(I DON’T HAVE TIME FOR YOU!) – thought the black knight captain as in anger and panic swung his sword and knocked back both the polearms, before then backing off and trying to run towards the chaos.

...

But just as the man backed off away from the boss golem.... He saw right next to him a bomb golem.

The man wasn’t even given a warning or time to react as in the very next moment-

The bomb golem blew up right in the man’s face.
