532. Living again, 1
(Rose)
I had strange dreams. A little uncanny or anxious ones. But as I woke up under that cold wind, it was to one of the most amazing landscapes I’ve ever gazed at.
Endless valleys and distant mountains hazy in the horizon. Infinite structures defying my imagination and understanding, all over the distance, reaching the horizon and further heights in the sky.
The sights you have from a plane, while being outside. The edge of a cliff, in more ways than one.
All the colours of sunrise, over the turquoise land.
I shiver not from being cold, but from being swallowed. The beauty of a sunrise seen from some altitude is much stronger than what a picture or a letter can describe.
I wish you were here, to see it with me...
I brush away blossoming tears in the corners of my eyes as I sit there.
I’m close to the edge of our small plateau. The wind isn’t too strong here, so I can enjoy the moment to the fullest.
Behind me, Nightmare’s large wings are asleep, shaping a feathery tent over our beddings. As if a hollow bird was nesting over us.
Blume’s translucent shape comes to sit by my side.
My lover, my family now.
The one being who knows me and loves me more than any other in the world. And reciprocally.
We sit there and hold hands, in a way, quietly.
We don’t always need to speak. Emotions flow freely now, as we know each other always more.
The sight from up here, still far away from the summit, is a golden treasure in itself. It was worth it.
In the distance, the sunlight begins to curve its rays as it reaches the valleys. The fast paced clouds of morning fog below us begin to glow brightly under that light.
I raise my cup of water to Blume.
R – Here’s to another year with you Blume. In this beautiful world we enjoy.
Blume’s face can’t show anything, but I can hear freely her thoughts and emotions. Our bodies may not have any visible bond any longer, but we still deeply are intertwined and connected.
She’s touched, smiling, blushing, human in her emotional way.
I just made her happier to be alive in this world. As so am I.

Sister Night still carries glowing or very dark orbs along her back. Although a part of her always looks back to this passionate nature of hers, she is also very human in her own ways.
When she joined us, she enjoyed the sight as well.
Her skin is black and unsettling to me, but it’s a very colourful and warm colour truly when I look closer at it. It’s nothing like the pure daiûa black, the absolute darkness to swallow all radiations.
Her face and movements showed her emotions. Wonder, amazement, admiration, melancholia and bliss, as she looked at the same landscape as us.
R – Isn’t it beautiful, sis?
N – It is...
Step by step, we evolve.
Because we’re alive. And thriving.

Nightmare’s huge wings move and folds themselves there, creating a kind of tree that will stand there while we climb further in our journey upward.
Nightmare makes her shoulders joints pop slightly with a single stretch.
We nibble on pieces of dry meat with flowery scent, and she drinks the water I’ve left her.
We don’t do big meals now, only light snacks here and then.
Today she heads ahead first. Above me, the blue sky gives me a creeping vertigo again, as I look at it. Blume holds me up and I breathe a little better with her help.
Ahead of us is a small valley, floating in the air as much as it looks like, with slopes and curves that eventually connect to the various other cliffs and bridges around.
We begin our walk along that ledge floating like a thin and huge bridge in the air.

I’m jumping from a ledge to the next. Above me is the empty sky. Below me, a good amount of sky as well now. Although I can see the land behind that one, so far below.
We progress at the edge of nothingness. Above us, Blume is setting a rope onto the next level for us to climb.
In the end, that thread falls short about a metre away from the very tip of the rock structure we stand on.
Blume shakes it until I grab it.
I hold the rope, feet on the ground, well, on some kind of ground at least.
I’m well aware that as soon as I start to climb, I will oscillate away and soon be hanging onto a rope above nothing.
I know they would catch me if I were to fall... But it still is impressive and makes my heart race badly.
I jump. I feel a lot of things.
Slowly, I climb toward the next ledge and the shady silhouette holding me from above.
Seconds turn into lengthy minutes when you do such rope climbing. I bleed through my old gloves, but I hold.
I don’t let go. I climb.
My hands grab the rock. I pull myself up, arms trembling. Blume’s shade somehow pulls me further onto the new structure. I breathe heavily, feeling the blood pulse in my arms and hands.
Blume is smiling at me for a moment. Then she turns back to help my sister.
But Nightmare is strong and climbs faster.
We rest up there together. I’m happy neither of them suggested to use their wings to go faster. They enjoy the same life.
In the distance, parts of the gigantic skeleton of a mountain range begin to gleam. They have a seemingly metallic glow. We know it’s an illusion due to the distance, and the grass growing everywhere around it.
Blume checked it a while back and confirmed to us, it’s really just common grass. It’s not even linked to the vaporous being-like-her that created all this geologic wonder. It simply is thriving flora with what it found. Blume appreciates this.
I lean without thinking about it onto my sister’s shoulder as I got tired.
My eyes halfway closed see the distant gleams of the lush rocks merging into the star sky.
Around us, Nightmare’s giant wings bring our luggage and nest around us, wrapping us.
I hear Blume and Nightmare exchanging a few words, as I fall into slumber. They chat about the reflectance and albedo of the structures, far away from us. I think they noticed something new.
Nothing that can’t wait for my awakening tomorrow I’m sure. I’m clenching onto something soft and fall asleep there.
I don’t recall right now, when was the last time I felt happy and at peace like I did right now?
Life is good.
