Truth Of The Forgotten Age

4-14: Tournament Day Two

The second day of the tournament has begun. The watchers had taken their seats, excited for the previous day's winning teams to go against each other. Of course, there was betting in which trams would make it to the next round.

The girls were in the fourth fight today, say they still get to watch three matches before they go up. However, since they didn't watch the tournament after their own fight, they have no idea of who they'll be facing. Hopefully their opponents won't be that bad, right?

"Ladies and gentleman, welcome back! This is the second day of bouts between the students. Please take your seats and enjoy the show. And contestants, starting today, your upperclassmen will be observing you as well. Be sure to put on a good show for them!" The announcer greeted everyone.

"They're going to start watching us today?" Aviris repeated with a nervous tone.

"Seems like we should make sure we're good to go then, girls." Veronica tried to reassure Aviris and the others.

"So let's beat their ass!" Cassidy exclaimed, pumping her fists in the air. "Our opponents! Not the upperclassmen!" She quickly corrected herself.

"Preferably get the attention of one of the more well known teams as well." Eleanora added in.

But first, they watch! After all, they'll need to learn about who they might face off against next. So far, from what they saw the day before, the only team they need to be especially careful of is the Dragons of Varsha. But more information never hurt.

"It seems like it's time for the first match of our second round! And coming up to the arena is the Dragons of Varsha! They are currently the top contenders for the number one spot on the pedestal! Their opponents are the Salamander's Nexus! How will these reptilian teams fare against each other? Let's find out! Begin!"

The fight began, and just like last time, it ended so quickly that no one was really able to tell what happened. Veronica was able to tell that the leader's position was slightly different, but other than that, nothing.

"Can't really learn much about them if they're too fast." Aviris said, trying to think.

"Hm... I might be able to use void magic right behind them to slow them down. Though, we would also be caught in the pull." Cassidy thought of a small plan.

"Theoretically, wouldn't that make us faster as well?" Eleanora asked.

"Well, yes. But in the case one of us needs to pull back..."

"We'd then be slowed as well, and be open for an attack. Perhaps you try to put it under them?" Veronica tried to add.

"And send them to the deep, dark abyss that not even I know what's in there? I don't think I'd be able to pull them put of it either. But... perhaps if I open a bunch of small voids under them..."

"Then the voids would stick them down to the ground and not risk basically killing them." Aviris concluded.

"Exactly. Small issue, I never did that before, so I don't know how difficult that would be. Let alone how much magic I'd need to open up some many rifts..."

Well, their plan was coming along, but they certainly needed something more to make it stick. Tʜe sourcᴇ of thɪs content ɪs N()velFire.net

The winning team left the arena, and it seems EVERYONE else was talking about that team. The students having similar talks of planning against them, or even surrendering to them if they get matched up. The observers, on the other hand, were a tad bit angry that the fight was over right after it began.

Sadly, it seems that may continue for a while.

Since that fight went as fast as it did last time, but now that there's less fighters, a small break was held, where everyone but the next two teams going up got snacks and drinks.

The girls were excited about free food. But they also didn't want to have any... issues when their turn came up.

So, new problem. Free snacks and drinks, but the probability that something might happen at the last minute.
