Planet Master

122- Smagenrog (3)

Ame placed Tatsumi’s head on her lap which was the easiest position to do some first aid for transcendent. It was because the head was where the consciousness mostly located in the physical world.

Then she heard another footstep. She recognized the footstep to be the teacher of her dear husband.

“How is he?” Long Wu looked tired as he had to manipulate the blood of the Dragon to make it easier for Tatsumi to penetrate.

But now, despite looking tired and pale in the face, he was worried about his disciple. After all, he only had one and he cherished his disciple as if his own son.

“He is fine, for the moment.” Ame’s eyes were teary and traces of tears coming down could be seen on her cheek but all she cared about was Tatsumi.

She had detected that the mind power of Tatsumi was mixing with that of the Dragon in the Dragon’s blood.

She realized that even after exerting physical force, it was still not enough.

Long Wu and Ame then brought Tatsumi outside to be treated. Initially, the Divisions had declared a total retreat since the sighting of Smagenrog was akin to a calamity but with the Dragon defeated, they needed to report it to the higher-ups.

-

“Where am I?” Tatsumi quickly looked around and felt the familiar place.

‘This is my mindscape. But…’ Tatsumi looked up and saw a large shadow of Smagenrog gazing at him.

‘I realized things too late. You and your race have always been the friend and nemesis of us dragons.’ Smagenrog’s voice reverberated in Tatsumi’s mindscape.

The palace in the distance was opening its door and giving Tatsumi mind power enhancement. The chains that covered the palace was put down as the palace was shining with brilliant white light.

‘What do you mean? My race has never even seen a dragon, much less slaying so many. You are the first one, in fact.’ Tatsumi replied to Smagenrog.

‘The Planet Master System is the byproduct of your race. Don’t you even know about this!?’ Smagenrog said but Tatsumi felt like hearing static.

It was because what Smagenrog had said was automatically censored to Tatsumi.

‘What did you say? I can’t hear anything you just said.’ Tatsumi asked for clarity.

‘Damn it! Censorship of certain words for those with no clearance.’ Smagenrog had accepted the fact that Tatsumi had slain him. That was why he wanted Tatsumi to know about himself but exposing him to the common knowledge he had turned out to be futile.

‘Well, congratulations on slaying me.’ Smagenrog tilted its long neck as its left eye was shining brightly when Tatsumi took a look.

‘It was hard but why am I here?’ Tatsumi asked after admitting that the process was not easy at all.

‘You’ve become the one who even the existence called Dragon Slayer. Of course, this is going to happen.’ Smagenrog said it as a matter of fact.

‘Dragon Slayer…is it?’ Tatsumi engraved that word into his mind as the mindscape churned and changed color for a moment before returning to normal.

‘I have already felt your strong will so the final test is not needed. What you need to know is that my power will become your aid in your future endeavor. That is why, I will be giving my memory inheritance to you.’ Smagenrog said as he changed into golden motes of light that surged in Tatsumi’s direction.

Tatsumi was alarmed.

‘What are you doing!? Stop!’

But his cries were futile as Smagenrog had decided on this from the start.

Tatsumi felt that his mind was filled with so many memories regarding every technique he had developed and stored in the Hall of Myriad Magic as well as the dragons’ common sense and their fear of a certain race.

‘Sovereign Race.’ That was what Tatsumi remembered from the memory. It noted that the Sovereign Race was the race which had numerous Dragon Slayers in tow. They were called like that because…

As Tatsumi tried to reach the memory further, something prevented him from accessing further.

-

Blocking cognitive and memory inheritance, the part where the definition of the Sovereign Race came from.

-

Tatsumi felt like he was blocked by something beyond his control. With a regretful look, Tatsumi had to filter another memory.

He could tell that Smagenrog was knowledgeable despite only being an Infant Dragon. The insight of the technique he had was enough for Tatsumi to benefit for a long time.

Furthermore, he gleaned a certain memory about Smagenrog’s origin. Initially, Smagenrog was born but for some reason was sealed and was selected with the Summoning Dragon Auxiliary Ability Card.

Smagenrog came from the Dragon Domain which was in the vicinity of the Planet Master System.

‘Planet Master System? What is that?’ Tatsumi had a strong feeling that everything he knew so far, about the Father God, about the Star Battle as well as his status as a Star Child stemmed from those words.

But then he faced another block as he was unable to view the memory further once again. As if some force had deliberately prevented him from reaching the truth too soon.

‘Argh! This is frustrating! Which one is not censored by the great force beyond?’ Tatsumi was protesting but he still obediently sorted out all the memories that Smagenrog had given him.

Tatsumi decided to seal the unaccessed memory and wait until the moment the restriction was removed. That was all he could do.

Then he resumed sorting out the memory.

With his mind power enhanced by the Nine Psyche-Locks, he could do this all day.

After all of this was done, Tatsumi felt like he was getting stronger and it was not just feeling but something real and could be calculated.

He swiped the space in front of him with only his finger but it opened a tear. The tear was dark in color as if no light could escape it. After some time, the tear slowly closed and left no trace that it had once existed.

‘Yeah, my mind power is stronger than before.’ Tatsumi smiled before he did one last thing.

‘It is time for me to wake up.’ Tatsumi willed himself to leave the mindscape.

Then the scenery twisted and distorted before Tatsumi felt that his eyes were closed and tried to open it.

When he managed to do so, he saw an unfamiliar ceiling. It was white and he smelled the antiseptic used to purify a room.

He was lying on the bed with a blanket covering his lower body. He looked down and saw that Ame was sitting beside the bed, sleeping with a frown on her beautiful face.

Then he also saw Tetsuya and Ivana as well as Charlene together on the sofa a bit further from his position. They were also sleeping but now he felt that some time had passed in the real world.

‘But I don’t know how much time passed.’ Tatsumi found one problem that unsettled him.

‘It is actually almost a month.’ Kudungga commented.

‘What!? Almost a month!?’ Tatsumi’s expression turned into shock. He did not expect that he was sleeping for that long. Thıs text ıs hosted at Nov3lFɪre.ɴet

‘No wonder my family is here. They are waiting for that long.’ Tatsumi then tried to move his body but felt that his body was weak, so weak that he wondered what had happened.

‘Careful. You were being treated with the best medical facilities from the Mikazuki family but you still ended up like this. What happened in your sleep, boy?’ Chi You added.

‘A lot. I was actually dealing with so much new information in my mindscape. It is actually quite fortunate for me to wake up at this moment. How about the Star Battle?’ Tatsumi asked for the current situation regarding the Star Battle.

He believed that the battle had entered a fevered pitch with both sides exchanging fire as well as gaining casualties.

‘It is in a critical stage. But the civilization has a slight edge in terms of advancing.’ Goto commented.

Tatsumi then changed his position, trying to sit on the bed. Although he was successful, someone was disturbed by his movement.

Ame’s eyelashes fluttered as her eyes slowly opened up. Then she used her mind scan to perceive Tatsumi’s condition and found that the mind fluctuation was actually that of someone already conscious!

That was why she got up from her seat and stood closer to Tatsumi.

“Oh, Ame. Good day?” Tatsumi said while raising his arm to wave his hand.

Ame lunged in to hug him. Her eyes became a bit teary but she was glad that Tatsumi was safe and sound.

“You worried me. So, so much.” Ame whispered.

“Thank you for taking care of me despite my reckless endeavor.” Tatsumi sighed.

Although it was reckless, the gain was as massive so he felt that it was worth the effort.

Then, because of the commotion and noise, the others also woke up.

“Hmm, they woke up.” Tatsumi reminded Ame but she was too stubborn to keep hugging him.

“I don’t care. Besides, this place is reserved for your recovery.” Ame said.

“Oh? Father has awakened.” Tetsuya said as he stood up from the sofa and went to the front of the bed. Ivana followed and Charlene went to the left side of Tatsumi’s bed and grabbed his hand.

“Why did you risk yourself so much?” Charlene asked with a concerned expression.

“Other than to slay the Dragon, there is also the agreement from the Father God. That was why I did it to the point of injuring myself.” Tatsumi honestly answered the question.

His right hand patted Ame’s hand while his left was being held by Charlene. He felt that he was truly blessed to have two wives who really cared and supported him.

“Father is at it again.” Ivana pouted as she saw her father being all lovey-dovey with her mothers.

“Let him. He has slept long enough that we all worried about him.” Tetsuya said although he started to understand why his father acted the way he did.

‘He wanted to protect us. That was all he thought when he took the risk.’ Tetsuya thought.

His thought was shared with all of his family members. They knew that Tatsumi cared for them and that was why he risked himself to slay the Dragon.

“Right. What happened to the corpse of the Dragon?” Tatsumi asked something that was beyond him because he had been unconscious for a month and something had to happen.

“We moved it to our planet. It has become the research material for body refining as well as the base power of a Dragon.” Charlene replied while looking directly into Tatsumi’s eyes.

“I see. Good enough.” Tatsumi felt his body was weak but he still carefully tried to control his power.

Ever since he was drowned in the Dragon’s blood, he felt that his physical prowess and the rate of his body refining had reached an unprecedented height. But because of that, he needed more energy to sustain it.

“Alright. Time for you to eat. Nutrition cream might be good but sometimes, your mind wants to taste something more appealing.” Ame reminded and then stood up as she went to the fridge, where food was stored.

Then she heated it using the microwave oven to heat it up. After that, she used a tray to deliver the food in the bowl along with the eating utensils to the bed.

Tatsumi’s stomach growled so much that it could be heard in the room. He felt slightly embarrassed as his face flushed slightly.

“Please give me the food. I am starving!” Tatsumi quickly grabbed the bowl and the utensils. Surprisingly, the food was actually a porridge. After being heated up, it gave off a soft smell.

Ame then watched Tatsumi ate the food with delight. Charlene also watched with a slight smile on her lips.

But Tatsumi who took a glance at Charlene, realized that her smile did not reach her eyes.

‘Crap. I forgot that I should not endanger myself like this.’ Tatsumi realized that he would soon receive an earful of reprimand.

“Now, I would like to discuss the reason you became like this,” Charlene said in her opening speech.

“You likely used the incomplete thing that you proposed last time. That’s dangerous!” Charlene said while looking at Tatsumi as if he were a criminal for using it.

“But it was necessary to slay the Dragon. Without it, I could not reach the Dragon’s heart.” Tatsumi tried to argue as much as he could but his mistake was expecting that to be effective.

“Even so, you endangered yourself. Do you know how worried we are when we received the news that you are unconscious with severe internal injuries!?” Charlene raised her voice slightly while her expression was one of concern.

“…” Tatsumi did not even reply to that. He knew full well how worried they were and he could imagine it. He sighed as he took another mouthful of porridge before he set his sights on Charlene.

“This action was agreed upon by the Father God. That was what made me confident that I could do it.” Tatsumi could only utter these words.

“Yes. I know you mentioned it, even so you still put yourself at risk.” Ame added.

The two women knew that Tatsumi acted so carefree because he truly lacked self-preservation, or at least that was the impression that he gave.

They hoped that their relationship would anchor him down but who would have thought that it would be the very reason for his action.

“I am sorry.” Tatsumi knew that he could only say this word. Another word of rebuttal would only worsen the situation. Furthermore, he had already presented his case. It was time for him to admit his mistakes and just play it by ear.

The two women sighed but understanding formed in their hearts. They knew that Tatsumi cared deeply about them so he would only risk his life when it truly endangered them.

“If you know you are in the wrong, you should’ve said that sooner.” Ame said.

Charlene understood that Ame was the one who had witnessed Tatsumi’s severe condition firsthand and cast an understanding look from her eyes. Ame looked at Charlene and felt that their understanding was as strong as ever.

Ame nodded and then said that Tatsumi should continue eating, which he did.

After the bowl of porridge was emptied, Tatsumi felt some strength returned to his body. He also knew that the porridge was the developed special porridge, not only was it delicious but it was also nourishing.

But what he did not notice was the gaze he had. Charlene had noticed it, Ame also as well as Tetsuya and Ivana.

That was why the two children was mostly silent while Charlene and Ame tried to probe what had changed in Tatsumi.

Other than his distant gaze, his actions and reactions remained the same. It felt like he had experienced something major.

They were worried but they withheld themselves from voicing this out. They believed that Tatsumi would explain himself.

As expected, he started saying things from when he lost his consciousness from his perspective.

It was because just as they were concerned about him, Tatsumi too could read their concern and what made them slightly wary of him.

“After I lost my consciousness over the world outside, I was inside my mindscape.” Tatsumi began.

“Then I saw the shadow of Smagenrog. The Dragon of Ruin, which I have slain, then entered my mindscape. He gave me the memory inheritance and I learned so many things from it." Tatsumi told them in a way that felt a bit distant, as if his experience was that of another person.

“Wait, so you have been given the knowledge from the Dragon which can use all of our techniques and magic, is that right?” Charlene asked.

“That should be right.” Tatsumi grinned while feeling that he was himself once more.

“After reading all the necessary memories, I experienced so many things that I inadvertently changed even from your perspective. Sorry for worrying you.” Tatsumi then changed his gaze to one that the two felt was the most familiar.

His gaze was one where the two could see an unwavering resolve as well as a warmth of kindness.

“So what have you inherited?” Ame asked. She wondered what kind of inheritance Tatsumi had.

“Well, many things. For example, I have mastered most of our civilization's Transcendent abilities.” Tatsumi then used one for example.

It was something that could be revolutionized but sadly it was only used by one person. Now, that knowledge of the transcendent ability also belonged to him.

‘Can you hear me?’ Tatsumi used multiple mind transmissions to four people at once. This was harder than to send a mind transmission to a specific person.

‘Eh? Father, is this actually a multiple-person transmission?’ Ivana was surprised.

‘Oh, Father. That’s amazing!’ Tetsuya replied with his mind.

‘Husband, please don’t overwork yourself.’ Ame reminded.

‘Dear, please don’t be a show-off.’ Charlene commented.

‘Eh, that seems to work quite well.’ Tatsumi nodded as he could hear what was on the four minds.

“Wait, I remember someone who can use this. But that person is dead, and with that the method.” Tetsuya said.

“Although I don’t get it from him, but the memories from the Dragon included this method. Might as well put them to good use.” Tatsumi added.

Then he tried to move his leg to stand up since it had been quite some time since he moved. When he did that, his legs gave up and he was held by Ame’s hand.

Then the rest of his family supported him back to his bed.

“You’re still weak. Don’t force yourself.” Charlene sighed at Tatsumi’s stubbornness to try walking immediately after retaining his consciousness in reality.

“It means that I need to stay in this place longer.” Tatsumi grimaced at the thought. He wanted to do something immediately but it looked like he needed to restore his power first.

With that, he obediently rested up for two more days.
