Information to Mastery: Points Store System

Chapter 412: Why? Leverage

Upon hearing the word consequence, Amos finally reacted. He looked deeply into Michael’s eyes as he asked, "What do you want?"

At this point, Amos did not even think about the possibility of Michael letting him go. Having been involved in the death of his parents, and Michael already possessing the information, it was clear what his fate would be.

In normal times, he really would not have cared about this. After all, he had killed a lot of people, ruined many families. So, just one more was not much of a problem.

Previously, he did not have a family, therefore, he was not burdened by whatever he did. But ever since he discovered his nephew, things completely changed.

While that kid’s character was not likable. If he really had other options, he would have definitely gone for them, instead of trying so hard to allow Ethan to be the next syndicate leader.

The problem here was that, both of Ethan’s parents had died when Amos was being targeted. Amos himself did not marry, and did not have children.

He was born together with his younger brother, who was Ethan’s father. Both of their parents died of old age, considering how old he himself was.

Not wanting the Wesley family lineage to end just like that, he thought about grooming Ethan, so that he would be able to expand the family in the future.

It was exactly because of this that he wanted to secure his future by insurance that he was going to be the next in line as the leader of the syndicate after himself.

Before he left, he had already informed the Ethan to make a run for it. But he was not sure if that kid had managed to leave the country or not. It was because of this that he was paying attention to what Michael had to say, just in case he had the information on Ethan.

Of course, Amos already knew about the conflict between Michael and Ethan. It was because of this that he was worried about that brat.

Seeing that the old man was finally paying attention to him, Michael asked the first question, "What was your motive by targeting my parents? I believe that they had already left the Santos family, which implied that they had nothing to do with the clash between the two syndicates. So, why did you target them despite them living in a very small city?"

From the investigation that he had carried out so far, and from the little bit information he had gotten from Bob before the guy was killed, he already understood. It was just that he wanted to be sure that this was a mistake or it was done deliberately.

If it was something that happened accidentally, then, the punishment that Amos would get would obviously reduce. Still, he would not escape death.

But if it was done intentionally, then the consequences of that would be something that Amos would regret for the rest of his life, before it ended.

Upon hearing Michael’s question, Amos frowned. He did not want to answer, but looking at the way that Michael was gazing at him, he realized, he needed to give a response.

Regardless, he was not willing to just give a response for no reason. Therefore, instead of responding directly, he asked another question, "What leverage do you have on me?"

Michael revealed a faint but cold smile when he heard the question. He immediately understood that this old man did not want to say anything, having already understood what was waiting for him.

But that was not a problem, as Michael was already prepared. Therefore, even if the old man did not want to speak, Michael had ways to make him spill out everything.

"Well, I don’t think I have any leverage on you. But I believe that I have many ways to make you speak." Michael responded calmly.

When Amos heard that, he felt relieved. At least, from the way that Michael was talking, it seemed that Ethan had survived. If that kid had really survived, then, Amos did not want to give Michael any satisfaction.

Michael had already ruined force that he had built with a lot of effort over the years. Within just a day, everything was gone.

Despite knowing the reason why Michael was targeting him, Amos obviously hated Michael. Why was he not like the other victims that had suffered in his hands?

Some of them had come to look for revenge, only to end up being thoroughly dealt with, that they even regretted trying to take revenge.

If Michael had been obedient and allowed everything to go as they had planned, the plan against the Santos family would have worked.

By now, things would have been completely different. It would have been the Santos family that would have been destroyed, while the Blood Reapers Syndicate would have risen.

Just the thought of this was frustrating. If he really had a chance to go back to the past, he would have dealt with Michael when he was still young. He would have eliminated that brat, before he grew into what he was now.

But just as Amos was lost in his thoughts, Michael said something that made his blood run cold.

"Oh, I almost forgot. If it is considered a leverage, then that nephew of yours, I already have him. If you care about him, then he can be considered as a leverage.

Once I have dealt with you, the way that things go here, will decide how his fate will be. After all, he has not offended me that badly. Otherwise, he would have died on the same day that I encountered him back in Brenton city, instead of giving him just a few injuries." Michael stated casually.

Even though he was trying to control his body, subconsciously, Amos trembled. This was of course something that was noticed by Michael, but he did not make it obvious.

Instead, he looked at Amos who was trying to act calm. The old man even went ahead and said, "Who cares about that useless piece of trash? If he dies, it has nothing to do with me. Anyway, I have already provided for him what I can, whatever happens to him next has nothing to do with me."

Michael simply smiled as he asked, "Oh, really? Are you sure about that? Because from the information that I possess, it seems that you dot on him so much. You have gone to great extents just to cover his mistakes."

Amos panicked internally. But on the surface, he tried so much to hide it. Unfortunately for him, his efforts were in vain, as his reaction was easily seen through by Michael.

Still, Michael had to agree that this guy was quite resilient. Realizing that he could not try to lie Michael, he just went silent, showing an indifferent expression on his face.

In normal situations, encountering other people, they might possibly think that he was not willing to explain, having already said what he wanted to say.

Michael looked seriously at Amos before he spoke, "Okay, to serious business. I asked a question, I’m waiting for you to respond. Why did you target them?"

Unfortunately, this guy did not seem to have any intention of saying anything. Michael waited for a few seconds, but the guy did not open his mouth to say even a single word.

Still, Michael was quite patient. He waited for a little bit longer, and realizing that the old man was acting tough, he finally spoke.

He said, "It seems that you don’t want to cooperate. It doesn’t really matter, I will show you how things go. And by the way, because of wasting my time, your nephew’s punishment has just doubled."

Amos trembled when he heard that, but he did not say anything, pretending he was deaf, having heard nothing Michael had said.

Michael did not mind that, as he just accessed the system store, before he purchased five items. They were all going to be used on Amos.

Neural Pain Band, priced at 12 SP. This device was designed to stimulate the brain’s pain centers without causing physical injury. It could produce controlled pain ranging from mild discomfort to unbearable agony while keeping the subject fully awake and conscious.

The next item was the Pressure Restraint Chair, costing 18 SP. It was designed to apply controlled pressure to different parts of the body. It could gradually increase the force, creating intense pain and discomfort without breaking bones or causing permanent damage.

Then there was the Sensory Isolation Chamber, priced at 25 SP. It could block all light, sound, and outside contact. It could leave the subject in complete silence and darkness for long periods, placing heavy mental stress on the mind.

There was the Thermal Stress Pod, priced at 20 SP, which was designed to expose the body to repeated cycles of extreme heat and cold. It could rapidly change the temperature within safe limits, creating constant physical discomfort and making it difficult for the subject to adapt.

Finally, there was the Muscle Fatigue Stimulator, which cost 15 SP. The device was designed to send controlled electrical pulses into the muscles. It could force repeated muscle contractions, causing rapid exhaustion, severe pain, and loss of strength while avoiding lasting physical injury.

Even if Amos had answered the question, Michael would have still tortured. He would obviously not allow someone who had killed his parents to just die, not so easily.

Therefore, Michael was planning to have a long session with Amos, whereby, the guy will want to die, but will not have the chance to do that.

Immediately after he completed the purchase, he designated for the items to appear in the room where Amos was held. And in the next moment, under the shocked gaze of the old man, several items appeared in them.
