Chapter 402: Hei Ran
Next day.
After Lin Xuan Qi had his breakfast, he went over to the factories with Lee He Song as usual.
He thought that he would only need to supervise them for a bit and he could go back to the mansion and continue with his cultivation afterwards.
But he had a surprise when he got to the factory in the south.
"I’m not sure why. They usually come around by this time." The supervisor said and bowed at Lin Xuan Qi.
The fishermen didn’t come with their delivery of Kelp and the supervisor wasn’t sure what to do next.
And without the Kelp, the production and delivery of the Lin Clan Taste Transcendent Essence would be affected.
Lin Xuan Qi frowned and glanced at Lee He Song.
It was either a situation where the fishermen weren’t too pleased with what they were getting or something might have happened along the way.
"I will go check it out." Lee He Song cupped his hands at him and said.
He was eager to be able to finally help Lin Xuan Qi with something.
What’s the point of all the cultivation if it weren’t put into good use?
Lin Xuan Qi nodded his head and said, "Don’t risk it if it is too dangerous, come back safely and we can work something out together."
He pondered for a few moments and decided that it wasn’t enough.
Lin Xuan Qi took out some talismans he had from his sleeve pocket and handed them over to Lee He Song.
"Use your Five-Element Qi and hurl them at the enemy if you need to."
"Thanks, Master Lin." Lee He Song chuckled and kept the talismans before he headed in the direction of Bai Sha, the coastal town where the fishermen came from.
Lin Xuan Qi frowned and hoped that it was the situation where the fishermen weren’t pleased with the price they were getting.
But he doubted so.
With what was happening with the Sima Family and the Six Pulse Sword Sect, he figured that it was more likely to be the Six Pulse Sword Sect’s doing.
He would have to be on alert at the factories just in case they were trying to lure him and the guards from the Sima Family to Bai Sha.
At least he could protect the factories and would be invincible in the compounds of the new factories.
And if it was needed, he would be able to get the Sima Family to help.
...
When Lee He Song arrived in Bai Sha town, he frowned when he saw that the streets of the town were deserted.
No longer filled with fishermen or pedestrians.
The houses had their doors and windows shut.
Something must have happened.
"Go around and see if there’s anyone around."
"Yes, Master Lee." The guards that came with him cupped their hands at him and they dispersed into the streets.
Lee He Song proceeded to walk towards the fish market to check on it.
Along the way, it was the same.
Everything was eerily quiet with no one in sight.
That made him sure that someone was behind all of this.
He fastened his pace to see if things were the same at the fish market and the beach.
Once he reached the fish market, he saw that there were only a few men and women inside.
When he stepped into the fish market, his footsteps startled them.
"You gave us such a scare..." One of the fishmongers patted his chest and said.
"What happened in Bai Sha? Why is everyone hiding?" Lee He Song gestured to the back where the town was and asked.
"We are not sure, someone robbed the town earlier and warned that we better prepare more money for them or else..." The fishmonger replied and gave out a sigh.
Another fishmonger added on and said, "How do they expect us to have money for them when they even robbed the Kelp we had for delivery..."
The other fishmongers also nodded their heads in silence.
Lee He Song knew what this was about when he heard the fishmongers.
The Kelp was useless to anyone else and these so-called robbers certainly didn’t want the Kelp for the monetary value.
Whoever it was had targeted the Kelp to disrupt Master Lin’s business.
"Which way did they go?" Lee He Song asked and the fishmongers’ eyes glanced at each other.
They were afraid of any retribution if they let Lee He Song know where the robbers went.
Finally, after a few moments of hesitation, someone spoke up and said, "They went that way."
"How many were there?" Lee He Song asked.
"There were around..." Before the fishmonger could finish, a burst of laughter could be heard from outside the fish market.
"Stay somewhere safe. Don’t even try to look." Lee He Song said and turned around before drawing out his sword.
The fishmongers nodded their heads and quickly scurried underneath their stalls.
When Lee He Song got out from the fish market he saw that there were around twenty men standing outside.
All of them wore black clothes with all sorts of different weapons in their hands.
Some had knives while some were holding claws.
And among them, one stood out prominently.
The man was plump and rounded at twice the size of the others.
He grinned when he saw Lee He Song without any Spirit Qi and said, "I shall not sully my hands and let them take care of you."
"Yes, Master Hei Ran." The other men in black clothes said and they lunged at Lee He Song.
Two of them got ahead and when they got close enough to Lee He Song they swung their knives at him from both sides.
But it was nothing to Lee He Song.
He could see their movements clearly and after a bright flash appeared across their eyes, they dropped to the ground.
Their heads had been severed in an instant.
The other men froze for a moment when they saw what had happened but they continued to lunge at Lee He Song afterwards.
"Die, old man!"
This time, five of them came at Lee He Song.
