The Lord Of Blood Hill

Chapter 505: Splitting Up and Running

Blacksmith happens to be on the path of that attack. Seeing the scene, he’s terrified and scrambles away in a panic.

He’d rather take injured from Henwell than look back for even a moment.

Henwell thinks this guy is truly scared to death. That strike clearly wasn’t aimed at Blacksmith, yet he ran like lightning.

The Divine Punishment Sword sweeps across Veil’s elite surrounding the remaining knights, instantly vaporizing one Veil Grand Knight and more than a dozen other Veil elites.

When the massive blade passes over the surviving church knights, it causes no harm.

The huge light blade crashes into the gate behind the remaining knights, tearing open a massive hole and punching a large gap in the protective spell.

The scattering light particles fall on the wounded knights, bringing strong healing effects.

Many injured immediately stop bleeding and their wounds visibly start to close.

Wow!

That’s a group healing spell!

Garcia shouts, “Retreat! Scatter and run! Hide and wait for reinforcements!”

The Empire and church knights quickly help the wounded and escape through the slowly healing gap in the protective spell.

Not a single Veil elite dares to block them.

Then Henwell and the other Grand Knights begin to withdraw.

Finally, the remaining three Iron Knights retreat slowly, determination on their faces.

Jeremy and the other Veil elites don’t make a move to stop them.

No one wants to see another Divine Punishment Sword.

That attack is guaranteed to take down at least one enemy.

It won’t be wasted on Morris, who is currently in a strong defensive stance and hard to seriously injure.

If they died together with the enemy, it would be a pointless death.

However, Morris can’t move or attack now and must wait for the protective barrier to end.

So everyone watches as the three Iron Knights leave the King’s Hall and disappear from sight.

Meanwhile, the gap in the King’s Hall protective spell slowly begins to close.

Jeremy turns to Morris and asks, “High Priest, what’s the plan now? Should we retreat? We’ve already taken down two of their Iron Knights and several Grand Knight captains. We’ve gained a good advantage. Maybe we should leave quickly. If we delay any longer, things could go wrong.”

Morris glances at him. “Are you satisfied with just that? If this was the outcome, would I have bothered coming here?”

Jeremy frowns but says nothing.

Morris continues, “Wait a bit longer. I’ll open the gap again. You go out and hunt down every last one of those Sin God lackeys hiding around. Don’t let a single one escape today. Don’t worry, they can’t run. “

”You have the castle’s protective spell’s detection center. No matter where they hide, they won’t get away. After that last strike, the castle’s defenses have only grown stronger. Even if the remaining three Sin God lackeys use The Blade of Sin God together, they won’t break through.”

Faced with Morris’s orders, Jeremy and the others reluctantly comply.

A few minutes later, Morris steps out of the protective barrier and raises his staff. A faint glow shoots toward the recently healed gap in the protective spell.

The water-like shield looks as if it’s been stained by ink, slowly corroding a large hole.

Jeremy and his team stream out, holding a magical array designed to track Henwell and the others.

This is the detection function integrated into the Sunflower Fortress’s protective spell, with Veil crafting an extraordinary sensing device.

Rewinding to a few minutes earlier, Henwell and the others have just left the room and prepare to escape.

Henwell remains calm. “Execute Plan 19. When passing the castle’s supply warehouse, remember to grab some medicine.”

McComb catches the implication. “You’re not coming with us?”

Henwell shakes his head. “We can’t stay together. Blacksmith left a trace on me. He’ll find us. Veil’s spellcaster definitely knows how to open the King’s Hall’s protective spell. Veil’s elites won’t miss this chance to trap us. I can’t lead the enemy to you.”

At this moment, Garcia and the three Iron Knights retreat.

Henwell turns to them. “Sirs, you were part of the earlier planning. Now you head to location 15 of the plan. There are places to hide there. If the enemy pursues, you’ll have multiple escape routes and won’t get trapped.”

“Everyone, we can’t stick together. We must scatter or we’ll attract Veil’s Radiant Class spellcaster. The castle’s protective spell lifts in four hours. We need to buy as much time as possible. Hopefully, we’ll still see tonight’s moon. Take care!”

With that, Henwell hands out the weapons of the Veil elites they picked up during the retreat to his comrades. He carries nothing himself and turns to leave.

Henwell’s plan is sound, but he has another goal, he needs to find Catherine as soon as possible.

A few minutes later, Henwell changes into a guard soldier’s uniform and begins moving through the castle.

At this time, the castle is filled with guards coming and going; no one pays any attention to Henwell.

He naturally makes his way up to the third floor, following his intelligence that Catherine should be there.

Henwell senses someone hiding in a room. He pulls out a wire and fiddles with the door lock for a long time.

Frustrated, he throws the wire aside and angrily smashes the lock.

Amid the sharp screams of the women inside, he steps into the room.

Henwell closes the door and gestures for silence to the maidservants.

But obviously, it doesn’t work. The maids are terrified and continue their piercing cries.

Henwell rubs his temples, draws his longsword, and growls, “Whoever keeps screaming, I’ll chop off their head!”

After a moment, he looks at the few tearful maids and forces a gentle smile.

“Listen to me. I’m not one of the assassins outside! Though I’m not a guard, I’m not here to harm you. I’m here to rescue someone.”

“My name is Rudolph. I’m Princess Catherine’s guard. I’m here to take the Rose Princess out and return her to her army. You’re all women, and you must care for the Rose Princess too. You don’t want the kingdom’s war rose trapped in the garden, do you?”

One maid whispers, “You’re not Rudolph. I’ve seen your portrait. You’re Henwell! Lord of Blood Hill of Vorry! A war knight!”

Henwell is momentarily speechless but quickly recovers, remaining calm.

“Yes. Rudolph is one of my names. You’ve probably heard about my relationship with Princess Catherine. We truly love each other. I’ve come all this way to bring her out.”

The love between a knight and a princess is the dream of many young people.

Especially with someone like the wild knight Henwell and the war princess Catherine.

Their relationship is the subject of much gossip, with many rumors circulating.

Most people prefer to believe that their bond goes beyond mere allies or friends.
