Chapter 504: Radiant Class
After Sosie’s death, although he took down an enemy with him, the situation actually worsens.
Sosie and McComb had worked seamlessly together, easily suppressing two opponents.
They could even hold off three Veil Grand Knights briefly, creating opportunities for others to strike.
Now with Sosie gone, McComb loses his partner and can only manage to hold one opponent. Handling two becomes extremely difficult.
On the surface, it’s still three against three.
But Diara, who took out one of the enemy Grand Knights earlier, is injured and can barely handle one Veil expert.
Leician’s situation is even more grim. His left arm is already broken, reducing his combat effectiveness.
Now facing a Veil Grand Knight alone, he struggles.
This Veil Grand Knight is cunning, he appears to be fighting Leician but never goes all out.
He doesn’t want to suffer the same fate as his comrades by recklessly trading one-for-one.
His attention stays fixed on Diara, waiting for the right moment to coordinate with teammates and eliminate the Empire’s Hunt Knight captain.
Meanwhile, the battle remains deadlocked.
Pakrik’s main force is in a tough spot.
Though the Empire and church knights outnumber Veil, their casualties are heavy and their gear is far inferior to Veil’s elite.
Without their skilled coordination, they would have been scattered long ago.
Two Veil Grand Knights firmly suppress Pakrik.
Earlier, Pakrik’s left eye was blinded by a trap, impairing his vision.
He struggles to adapt to the new battlefield perspective.
Otherwise, these two Veil Grand Knights wouldn’t be able to keep in check Pakrik, who is already almost at Iron Knight level.
Without Pakrik’s command, the Empire and church knights can still hold formation, but lack coordination.
This leads to knights being picked off by Veil’s elite.
Still, Veil isn’t faring much better.
These are remnants of five elite teams. The number of Battle Knights rivals Veil’s forces.
Even after all the traps, nearly twenty Battle Knights remain.
Though many are wounded, they aren’t easy prey for Veil’s elite.
Overall, the Empire and church knights are increasingly struggling.
Especially as Veil begins targeting the immobile wounded, forcing the knights to divert resources to rescue, causing their formation to crumble.
The Empire and church Iron Knights realize they must act or risk total annihilation of these five squads.
Many of those at risk are their own heirs.
They cannot stand by and watch the younger generation fall before their eyes.
Garcia speaks in a low voice, “Rocky, go assist Henwell. Your priority is to take down Blacksmith. Once that’s done, have Henwell join the main battlefield. After that, come back and help us hold off Veil’s elite. We have to turn this situation around.”
Everyone now realizes the key to breaking the deadlock lies with Henwell.
Henwell’s fighting strength has reached the peak of a Grand Knight.
If Blacksmith is taken out, Henwell will be free to swiftly cut down the three Grand Knights surrounding McComb.
Then Henwell, along with McComb and the other two, can quickly shift the tide for the remaining knights.
Once these minor Veil players are dealt with, Henwell, Diara, and Pakrik, three peak Grand Knights, can hold off one of Veil’s Iron Knights.
In a four-on-four scenario, Garcia and the others won’t fear facing Veil’s strongest fighters one-on-one.
If they can just hold out until the castle’s protective spell lifts, they’ll be able to send a distress signal.
The church and the empire can then immediately dispatch top-tier forces, teleporting directly to Divine Revelation City.
At that point, it won’t be about whether Veil wins, but about how Veil’s elite can escape.
Clearly, Veil’s Jeremy has considered this too and quickly organizes his formation, ready to block Garcia and the others’ moves.
At that moment, unnoticed by anyone, someone steps out again from the shelter.
The figure is thin, holding a twisted, withered wooden staff, his face calm.
He scans the battlefield and speaks with a hint of regret, “It seems the church and the empire have seriously underestimated us. Not even a single Radiant Class warrior is willing to show up.”
Garcia and the others widen their eyes, unable to hide their shock. “Abyss Sin Shepherd—Morris!”
Veil’s elite fighters also look at Morris with surprise, clearly caught off guard by his arrival.
Only Jeremy remains composed, bowing slightly to Morris. “High Priest, why have you come out now?”
Morris replies, “No fish left! Neither the church nor the empire sent their Radiant Class warriors.”
Henwell feels a chill run through him. From the beginning until now, this is the first time he senses the scent of death.
Though Henwell holds the Iron Knight rank and isn’t truly worried about his own safety, no one present can kill him yet, he avoids revealing his full strength too early, as it would hinder his future development.
But when faced with a life-or-death crisis, Henwell won’t hesitate to unleash his power.
He estimates that a sudden, unexpected burst could at least take down one of Veil’s elites and instantly turn the tide.
However, after the battle, Henwell will need to give a reasonable explanation to the church.
Now the situation looks grim.
Morris, known as the Abyss Sin Shepherd, is clearly a Radiant Class warrior equivalent to a Glory Knight rank.
In such an extreme environment, Henwell faces real danger of death.
Just as Henwell prepares to unlock his Will Lock and fight desperately, a church Iron Knight beside Garcia steps forward.
A powerful aura bursts from him, a massive holy sword forming above his head.
This isn’t a hidden church expert but this Iron Knight sacrificing his own life force to unleash his final and most powerful move.
Morris clearly recognizes this technique, having suffered from it before, and immediately swings his staff to form a protective, circular magic barrier around himself.
Henwell has read about this move in church texts, and Newwood once told him how formidable it is.
It’s the church knights’ ultimate death strike, where the user empties their own health bar and returns to the divine realm of the Lord of the Holy Spirit.
Called the Divine Punishment Sword, only highly devout high-ranking knights can master it.
Grand Knights can only study it; only Iron Knights have the right to wield it.
Just as everyone thinks this move, destined to last as long as heaven and earth, is about to strike Morris,
The sacrificing church knight suddenly redirects the attack, smashing it into the remaining knight formation instead.
