Miss Evil Scientist's Evil Plan for Today

Chapter 198 : Chapter 198

198

It was night.

The bright moonlight poured into the room, with crisp chirps of insects occasionally drifting in from outside the window.

Lu Zheng opened his eyes and looked toward the window.

A crescent moon hung like a hook.

Moonlight flowed like water.

Countless stars surrounded the two moons—one large and one small—that hung in the sky.

This was a night sky that one could never witness on Blue Star.

In ancient times, people often used the moon to express their longing for home.

Now, seeing this beautiful night sky, Lu Zheng unexpectedly shared the same sentiment as those ancient poets.

Unintentionally, he began to miss his little home far away in D-City, and missed his little bed there.

He couldn’t fall asleep.

He let out a silent sigh, shifted his body slightly, and tried to lie on his side without making a sound or tugging the blanket.

If he were lying in his own bed at home, Lu Zheng would already be sleeping like a dead pig. There was no way he’d be lying awake like this, staring blankly out the window.

He was getting a little bored—even started counting the stars in the sky.

There really were a lot of stars. Every time he counted into the triple digits, Lu Zheng couldn’t remember which stars he’d already counted.

But even that didn’t help him fall asleep.

It wasn’t because of any so-called homesickness.

After all, he’d only been on this alien planet for less than two days. How could homesickness hit that fast?

The real reason was that on this bed he was lying on… there was also a very cute girl!

Not only that, she was sharing the same blanket with him!

Do you understand what that means?

One bed, two people in close proximity, and nothing in between to separate them—not even a second blanket.

Lu Zheng only needed to reach out slightly, and he could touch her graceful waist, her slender fingers, the smooth skin at the top of her thighs...

If he went a little further, he might even—taking advantage of her being fast asleep—get a handful of that soft pudding-like twin peaks plain.

Lu Zheng took a quiet, deep breath, forcibly rejecting the various unsanctioned proposals repeatedly submitted by his Lower House, and once again carefully adjusted his body to lie flat on his back, taking care not to disturb Yi Ning.

“Hu—”

By his ear came soft, steady breathing.

In reality, although they were sharing the same bed and the same blanket, the distance between Lu Zheng and Yi Ning wasn’t exactly close.

Maybe a few dozen centimeters.

But even so, Lu Zheng could still hear Yi Ning’s faint breathing. The ear on the side facing her could still feel the warmth of her breath.

It was probably just his imagination.

That ear slightly flushed, and the edge of his ear kept twitching subtly.

Lu Zheng felt a bit uncomfortable.

He shifted his head left and right, trying to wedge his now-warm ear between his head and the pillow.

After all his efforts to avoid looking at Yi Ning’s sleeping form, he still ended up seeing it.

Yi Ning slept very well.

No kicking the blanket, no talking in her sleep, no teeth grinding or snoring—none of those bad habits.

She just quietly curled up on the bed, emitting peaceful breaths.

Soft moonlight gently brushed her cheeks. Her long eyelashes fluttered slightly at the corners of her eyes. Her long hair, scattered across the pillow, shimmered faintly under the moonlight, and her pink lips were dyed a touch of silver-white.

“Mm…”

Perhaps her posture wasn’t comfortable—Yi Ning let out a soft groan. As if trying to hide from Lu Zheng’s gaze, she lowered her head slightly, placed both hands before her cheeks, and continued sleeping soundly.

It was rare to see this girl so quiet.

Staring at Yi Ning’s face, Lu Zheng unexpectedly felt a twinge of tenderness.

If he hadn’t interacted with Yi Ning personally, he would never have been able to link this peaceful, relaxed, even slightly fragile girl before him with the lively and occasionally outrageous Yi Ning.

Before he knew it—

Lu Zheng turned on his side, extending a hand out from under his side of the blanket, reaching gently toward Yi Ning’s cheek.

He held his palm above her face, and extended his index finger, testing the waters by lightly poking at her cheek.

But before actually touching her, Lu Zheng retracted his finger again, as if worried about disturbing her sleep.

After a few rounds of hesitation, his finger finally, carefully, touched Yi Ning’s cheek.

It was soft.

That was Lu Zheng’s first impression upon contact.

Then—Smooth.

Like a baby’s skin.

Yi Ning’s collagen-filled cheeks made Lu Zheng reluctant to let go.

It was as if he had discovered an amazing toy, gently sliding his finger over her cheek, occasionally poking at it lightly.

Yi Ning’s face seemed to possess some kind of magic—it held onto Lu Zheng’s finger tightly, making it unwilling to leave even for a second.

“Mm…”

Maybe he went a little too far.

Yi Ning frowned slightly and let out a dissatisfied murmur.

Only then did Lu Zheng stop messing around. He pulled his finger away from her cheek and tucked it back under the blanket.

Strangely enough—

The chaotic thoughts that had been swirling in Lu Zheng’s head gradually faded, and even his restless Lower House began to settle.

Right now, Lu Zheng actually felt—rarely—sleepy.

He let out a soft yawn.

Then stared at Yi Ning for a few more seconds, as if trying to imprint this sleeping face deeply into his memory.

Finally, he closed his eyes.

The night was clear, the moonlight silver.

Someone once said that when two people lie together, their breathing eventually syncs.

And as if to prove that theory—The breathing of the two people lying in bed slowly became steady, until eventually only one rhythm remained.

No one knew how much time passed.

The girl lying on the inner side of the bed opened her eyes.

She stared at the guy lying in front of her, puffed out her cheeks slightly, and raised a hand to touch her own cheek.

“So comfortable, huh? You had to touch it for that long…”

She muttered a few words in a low voice, gently tracing the spot Lu Zheng had touched.

Soft.

Smooth.

Just like always.

Didn’t even feel that good, right?

For some reason, she felt a strange hollowness in her heart.

She couldn’t quite explain it herself. She simply sighed, put her hand back down, and finally closed her eyes again.

Morning.

Lu Zheng had always had a habit of waking up early.

He rubbed his eyes and instinctively patted the little head snuggled against his chest.

Truth be told, he’d slept very well last night.

Maybe it was because he hadn’t slept the entire day before—he didn’t even dream. He basically slept straight through to daylight.

A familiar scent drifted from his arms.

Lu Zheng subconsciously patted the little head again, then raised his waist to get out of bed.

“Mm…”

Perhaps his movement startled the little figure in his arms.

A groan sounded from his embrace, and the little head under his palm slowly began to move.

Lu Zheng: “?”

Wait a minute!

Hold up!

What exactly happened last night?!
