Chapter 495 : Black Hole
Chapter 495: Black Hole
"By common sense, a 【Black Hole】 of such mass shouldn’t possibly appear within the 【Lower Star Domain】. Once it does, the mere leakage of energy from the collapse of the 【Black Hole】 would be enough to tear the entire 【Lower Star Domain】 apart———"
What Louisto-Tulan said was precisely the question that had also surfaced in Janna’s mind.
Normally, 【Black Holes】 were categorized into four scales: those on the scale of the 【Material World】, intermediate-mass black holes (ranging from one hundred to a hundred thousand times the mass of the 【Material World】), supermassive black holes (from hundreds of thousands to billions of times the 【Material World】),
and primordial black holes.
Regardless of the category, once a black hole appeared within the 【Lower Star Domain】, the destruction it brought would be immeasurable. Yet, the probability of such an occurrence was only one in a billion—virtually impossible.
"You’re right, under normal circumstances, a 【Black Hole】 shouldn’t appear within the 【Lower Star Domain】—–but what if I told you that this one is only as massive as a 【Falling Star】?"
A 【Falling Star】-scale black hole?
Upon hearing Hela-Helheim’s words, Janna couldn’t help but furrow her brow slightly.
"How could a 【Falling Star】 possibly collapse into a 【Black Hole】? The odds of that happening are minuscule——"
"And yet, this unlikely event did happen."
Seeing Louisto-Tulan’s puzzled expression, Hela-Helheim’s tone remained unwaveringly certain.
"Of course, the reason a 【Black Hole】 of 【Falling Star】 scale appeared within the 【Lower Star Domain】 was due to the magnetic influence of an 【Intermediate-Mass Black Hole】 that formed in the 【Upper Star Domain】—so, there’s also a 【Black Hole】 in the 【Upper Star Domain】?
And one on a scale comparable to hundreds of millions of times the 【Material World】 itself."
Upon hearing Hela-Helheim’s statement, Janna’s first reaction was to glance at Louisto-Tulan.
Sure enough, when faced with the news of an 【Intermediate-Mass Black Hole】 in the 【Upper Star Domain】, Louisto-Tulan’s eyes revealed no surprise—only a calmness that showed he had already known this information.
"As expected of a wizard apprentice from a major wizard congregation. Only they would have access to such confidential intelligence so quickly…"
Whether it was the Tulanis Wizard Congregation where Louisto-Tulan hailed from, or the Mistmarsh Wizard Congregation where Hela-Helheim resided, both were far higher ranked than Turin.
Not to mention, among the official wizards who had successfully entered the 【Leap Zone】 of the White Tower, quite a few came from these two great congregations.
Meanwhile, within Turin’s Wizard Congregation, apart from Janna, there were only Richard-Eva—who still hadn’t appeared so far—
and the Blackbone Grove apprentice Padin-Green, as well as Jose-Gold, who possessed the 【Fragment of the Law of Density Manipulation】.
Setting aside Jose-Gold, who was from the same year as Janna, when it came to intelligence and resource networks, Janna could hardly rely on Richard-Eva and Padin-Green—both of whom hadn’t even entered the 【Leap Zone】 yet—as her “hometown allies.”
By contrast, Louisto-Tulan not only came from a major wizard congregation but was also the most celebrated Saint Son of the Tulanis Church. That alone placed him far above a mere lower-ranked apprentice like Janna.
As for Hela-Helheim—
Janna gazed at her unusually dark-purple hair and eyes, as well as her information network, even sharper than Louisto-Tulan’s.
Even though Janna had never heard of the “Helheim” family name, it wasn’t difficult for her to infer that Hela must also belong to an influential “Wizard Family.”
"So, why did you come to us this time?"
After listening to Hela-Helheim’s rough explanation of how the 【Black Hole】 was formed, Louisto-Tulan, who had already accepted the possibility of a 【Black Hole】 appearing within the 【Lower Star Domain】, still asked her with evident caution.
After all, if there truly were such an opportunity in the 【Lower Star Domain】, logically speaking, Hela-Helheim should have sought cooperation from her own family instead of two virtual “strangers” like them.
"Because the information came through my personal channels, I don’t intend to report it to anyone—and I sought you two because you’re strong enough."
Not intending to report it?
Hearing that, Janna immediately thought of Richard-Eva’s previous experience.
When Richard-Eva had discovered the Deep Sea Mermaid, he too had withheld the information from his family due to internal competition and instead sought cooperation with Janna.
It was proof that sometimes, even those sharing the same bloodline—the so-called “family”—
could become the ones most in need of caution, due to tangled interests and inner strife.
"When a 【Black Hole】 undergoes contraction, it releases a vast amount of energy leakage. Even if it’s only a 【Falling Star】-scale 【Black Hole】, the energy shockwave isn’t something ordinary wizard apprentices could withstand."
"That’s for ordinary apprentices. We are not."
Before Janna could finish, Hela-Helheim interrupted her and continued speaking.
"I’ve already measured the energy index around that 【Black Hole】. As long as the spiritual body’s energy resistance exceeds twenty units, it will be fine—and both of your spiritual forms have long reached that level, haven’t they?"
At that, Janna and Louisto-Tulan exchanged glances, each seeing the same astonishment mirrored in the other’s eyes.
Though the 【Lower Star Domain】 was part of the vast cosmos, and its magnetic field wasn’t as intense as the 【Upper Star Domain】’s, it still contained a certain degree of energy radiation.
Before officially advancing to wizard rank, an apprentice wishing to travel long distances within the 【Lower Star Domain】 could only do so in spiritual form—either by driving a 【Falling Star】 or relying on 【Spatial Arrays】 for 【Light-Speed Jumps】.
One of the prerequisites for 【Light-Speed Jumps】 was that the apprentice’s spiritual body must possess an energy resistance level exceeding twenty units—essentially the upper limit of what a wizard apprentice’s protective witchcraft could sustain—such as Janna’s own 【Flourishing Guard】 spell.
Naturally, an ordinary apprentice’s spirit could only withstand around ten units, far from twenty.
Reaching a resistance of twenty or higher required either an innate spiritual gift or receiving the energy feedback of a 【Falling Star】.
In other words, the higher the degree of cultivation an apprentice devoted to their 【Falling Star】, the more the restored 【Law Consciousness Group】 would channel the revived 【Source Power】 back to nourish the apprentice’s spiritual body.
