Chapter 494 : Hela’s Invitation
Chapter 494: Hela’s Invitation
Saying so, Eunice-Gale gently swayed her hand. The green vine that had originally covered her palm swiftly shrank, and in no time, a cluster of orange flame replaced it, flickering in her palm.
"The vine actually turned into fire?"
Watching Eunice-Gale’s transformation that could only be described as divine craftsmanship, not only Janna but all the other wizard apprentices present widened their eyes in disbelief.
After all, transforming from a plant attribute into a fire attribute was far beyond mere physical transformation. It even included cross-elemental conversion between opposing attributes, something completely different from the 【Elemental Interactions】 trait.
"As you can all see now, true 【Complete Transfiguration】 is no longer limited to the transformation of the caster themselves. Even external objects can undergo permanent transformation according to the caster’s will———"
Permanent transformation?
Did that mean 【Complete Transfiguration】 could permanently turn an actual living person into something else?
Thinking that, Janna couldn’t help but feel a deeper sense of awe toward 【Complete Transfiguration】.
After all, to completely alter the objective form of a substance was, in Janna’s mind, something only a “god” could achieve··—
For the next two and a half hours, Eunice-Gale’s lecture remained centered around the basic theory of 【Complete Transfiguration】. Aside from the initial “showcase” where she turned the vine into flame, she did not demonstrate any other transformation techniques.
"That will be all for today’s class. Dismissed."
"Goodbye, Professor Eunice——"
As the apprentices bid farewell in unison, the sound of pages turning once again echoed. A moment later, Janna’s spiritual consciousness returned from the 【World Inside the Book】 to the 【Material Plane】.
"As expected, compared to 《Intermediate Transfiguration》, the lessons in 《Advanced Transfiguration》 are definitely much harder."
Back at White Coral Academy, when Janna had attended Professor Lilith-Mage’s 《Intermediate Transfiguration》 lectures, she had found the content rather abstract, but the theoretical portion was not nearly as dense.
However, Professor Eunice-Gale’s 《Advanced Transfiguration》 class had spent the entire two and a half hours purely on theory. Even though Janna had already studied the material beforehand, much of it still felt obscure and difficult to comprehend.
"It’s still early. I’ll head to the library after breakfast."
Today, apart from the one lecture on 《Advanced Transfiguration》, Janna had no other classes scheduled. So, she planned to use the free morning to borrow a few books on nurturing the 【Fallen Stars】—and perhaps wait for Hela-Helheim there as well.
The White Tower Library, located on the sixth floor, occupied a vast area and was maintained daily by a group of alchemical creatures.
However, compared to the bustling Resource Exchange on the fourth floor, the library on the sixth was far quieter—and much lonelier.
"It’s about time."
Checking her pocket watch, Janna saw the hands nearing twelve o’clock. She closed the half-read book, placed it along with several borrowed volumes into her 【White Tower Ring】, then stood up and walked toward the café beside the library.
"Ding-ling-ling—"
As Janna pushed open the café’s glass door, the clear chime of wind bells swayed with her movement, producing a crisp, pleasant sound.
"Janna, over here."
Just as Janna was about to ask the alchemical creature wiping cups at the counter about Hela-Helheim’s table, a slightly androgynous, husky voice suddenly called from behind her.
"Have you been here long?"
Looking at the tall girl before her—with shoulder-length dark-purple hair, a pure face, yet an exceptionally tall figure—Janna smiled warmly.
"I just got here too. Oh, would you like something to drink?"
"A cup of black coffee will do."
"Alright."
Hearing Janna’s reply, Hela-Helheim turned slightly and ordered a black coffee from the nearby alchemical creature.
"Let’s go in. It’s not just the two of us today—there’s another familiar face."
Another familiar face?
Hearing that, Janna merely raised an eyebrow and followed behind her thoughtfully, heading toward the inner section of the café.
"So it’s him."
As they approached, Janna finally saw who Hela-Helheim meant by that “old acquaintance.”
"Hela, she—so Miss Janna was the third person you mentioned?"
Upon seeing Janna, Louisto-Tulan, who had been sitting upright on the wooden chair, immediately stood, looking at her in disbelief.
"That’s right. Surprised?"
Seeing Louisto-Tulan’s exaggerated reaction, Hela-Helheim merely shot him a glance before calmly sitting down beside Janna.
"Hello, Mr. Louisto."
Although they attended classes together, since the lessons took place in the 【World Inside the Book】, there was no opportunity for socializing afterward as there had been at White Coral Academy.
Therefore, not only with Louisto-Tulan but with most other wizard apprentices, Janna’s relationship amounted only to a polite nodding acquaintance.
"Hello, Miss Janna—never thought Hela would actually invite you here."
Once both were seated, Louisto-Tulan sat down as well. Though he tried to maintain composure, Janna—whose perception of emotions was unusually keen—could easily sense his unease.
"Still just a kid, after all."
Seeing the faint traces of baby fat still on his cheeks, Janna smiled politely while silently thinking so to herself.
"Since everyone’s here, I’ll get straight to the point about why I called you both."
Saying that, Hela-Helheim skillfully set up a 【Soundproof Barrier】 infused with dark-element energy around the three of them.
"To put it simply, I’ve found the coordinates of a 【Black Hole】 in the 【Lower Star Domain】."
As expected.
Hearing Hela-Helheim’s words, Janna, who had already suspected as much, lightly pressed her lips together.
"However, this 【Black Hole】 is still in its collapsing phase—it hasn’t yet formed into a stable 【Black Hole】 structure. And that’s the opportunity I mentioned in the letter."
Before Janna could respond, Louisto-Tulan, his face filled with doubt, furrowed his brows and asked:
"Why would a 【Black Hole】 appear in the 【Lower Star Domain】—"
