Wizard: Starting from the Skill Tree

Chapter 639: Resources Delivered

When Duke was in the ruins, his Fireball Technique could at least inflict some damage on Sand Soldiers, but now it leaves no trace at all.

Even he is like this, so if it were other Level 1 Mages, they would probably be completely unable to break through the Sand Soldiers’ defenses.

Duke glanced at the Skill Tree in his mind, where a brand new branch had grown out.

[Sand Servant: LV1 (1/100)]

He was a bit curious about what new characteristics would emerge once the Sand Servant spell was fully maxed out.

Duke spent some time carefully studying other information on the ancient stone tablet. After not finding anything suitable for the current stage, he withdrew.

Anyway, with the stone tablet in hand, there was no rush. It should contain the complete legacy of that giant race, filled with massive information.

However, much of this information is about the historical records of the giant race. This stone tablet serves not only as a legacy but also as a historical record of this race.

Finding something useful from such an enormous amount of information is not easy and requires a lot of time and effort.

The fifth day, morning.

Officials from the Void Echo competition came to visit Duke, bringing the resources he won in the competition.

There were two Wizards dressed in standard gray robes, with the emblem of Anvil Castle embroidered on their chests. Their auras were refined, and their demeanor was efficient; both were Level 1 Mages.

It seems their positions are not very high, suggesting they are the personnel responsible for handling specific tasks within the event organization.

After the competition ended, the participants had nothing else to do, but these staff members still had a pile of matters to handle.

One of them held a dark silver metal box about half a meter long, thirty centimeters wide, and twenty centimeters thick. The surface of the box flowed with complex sealing runes, emanating stable spatial fluctuations.

"Mr. Duke, on behalf of the Void Echo competition committee and Anvil Castle central command, we are here to deliver the final resource package for your entry code L-7342." The leading gray-robed Wizard slightly bowed, his voice steady, as he handed out the metal box. "Please verify your identity imprint and confirm that the seal on the box is intact."

Duke reached out his hand and touched a sensor point on the metal box with his finger.

At the same time, he extended his Spiritual Power to make contact with the metal box.

The seal was intact, the spatial lock was stable, and it matched the security standards informed during settlement.

"Verification passed, seal intact," Duke withdrew his hand and nodded.

"Thank you for your cooperation." The gray-robed Wizard handed the box to Duke.

The box felt slightly heavy in his hand, but it was much lighter than its volume would suggest, evidently due to the advanced space expansion technology within.

"Please note that the resources have been categorized and sealed within independent spatial compartments inside. You can directly access and retrieve them through your Spiritual Power. The transport mission is complete; if you have any questions, please feel free to contact us."

The two quickly turned and left without any delay.

Duke closed the door and returned to the inner hall with the box.

He placed the box on the table, and after carefully checking it again, he concentrated his Spiritual Power on the central rune on the box’s surface.

There was a slight click, and the box did not open like a regular box; instead, the runes on the surface began to flow like mercury, quickly receding inward and disappearing.

The entire box became smooth like a mirror, then projected a light blue screen from the top, which was a detailed miniature of the resource list with extraction instructions.

Upon entering his Spiritual Power, Duke could see that the space inside the box differed from a typical Space Ring; it was divided into hundreds of independent spatial compartments.

Each compartment was slightly different and contained specialized facilities and Witch Arrays, providing different spatial environments.

This was designed specifically for storing various rare and special materials, as many materials need to be preserved in specific environments to maintain their properties to the greatest extent.

Some compartments maintained low temperatures with frost-like cold air, evidently for preserving certain active tissues or volatile liquids requiring freezing.

Some compartments were filled with warm humidity and gentle life light, simulating moist soil or forest environments, specifically for storing plant materials with roots or needing to maintain vitality.

...

Every environment is maintained through intricate micro Witch Arrays and energy circuits, to lock in materials’ properties to the greatest extent and prevent loss or deterioration during storage.

This is not just a transport box but a mobile, professional small-scale material conservation vault, showcasing the competition organizers’ attention to detail and expertise in logistics.

Duke had not seen such a thing on the West Coast; evidently, it was unique to the East Coast.

However, this must be very precious, and likely not affordable even for ordinary Wizards on the East Coast. It’s evident that this box is extremely exquisite and presumably expensive to make.

Duke’s Spiritual Power swept over these compartments like invisible fingers.

He found the compartment marked with the Dragon Blood Vine seedling and gently triggered the light membrane outside the compartment for identity verification and extraction.

Immediately, the light membrane on the surface of the compartment rippled. A flash of light came, and a special cultivation tube about a foot long, made of some transparent Crystal Stone and active softwood, appeared on the table.

Inside, it was filled with a pale green, nutrient-rich and stable magic gel substrate. The dark red, micro-dragon-scaled Vine seedling floated quietly within, roots spread, full of vitality.

Next, Duke extracted the Ironwood pollen.

Upon opening the corresponding compartment, a palm-sized, tightly sealed obsidian powder box appeared, the lid engraved with complex sealing runes to prevent the sharp metallic essence of the pollen from easily dispersing.

Just holding it in his hand, Duke could sense its sharp, refined aura even through the stone box.

He did not take out all the resources to inspect them; it was unnecessary and could cause undue environmental disturbance to some sensitive materials.

He quickly browsed the labels on the compartments with his Spiritual Power, compared them with the list in his mind, and gained a more intuitive and profound understanding of the types, quantities, and preservation status of these resources.

He then focused his attention back on the resource disposal plan.

The materials were too numerous, most of which he would not use for the present or even for a long time in the future.

Duke needed to carefully sort through them, retaining particularly rare and hard-to-obtain materials, and then sell those relatively easy to acquire yet valuable materials for Magic Stones.

He didn’t plan to handle everything here on the East Coast, and further investigation of prices was necessary to compare them with those on the West Coast.
