Chapter 351: Conservative and Progressive Faction

They burst into loud laughter when Ethan threatened them. Even though his appearance was intimidating, not a single member of the Telmarian Tribe showed any fear.

"HAHA! Who do you think you are, daring to threaten us? Our village chief can't be met by just anyone like you," they replied.

Ethan fell silent, then let out a cold smirk, his gaze fixed straight ahead. He meant to intimidate them, to make sure they feared him.

"You can talk like that… but do you want to see what happened in the western village?" Ethan asked.

That caught their attention. Two of the village guards quickly ran from their village toward the one across from them, wanting to confirm the situation.

Ethan did not attack while they were gone. He let them decide after seeing the condition of the other village.

Fifteen minutes later, the two men returned, their faces pale with fear. They reported everything they had seen.

"The other village… has been destroyed!"

"WHAT?!" shouted one of the men, the commander of the village guards.

"I saw it myself. Village Chief Alana died horribly. Many were killed. Some were poisoned."

Hearing their testimony, he immediately turned his gaze toward Ethan.

Ethan had come from that direction, his clothes covered in blood.

It was obvious the two events were connected. Yet none of them knew why Ethan had attacked that village.

"You? Was it you who committed that atrocity?!" the man shouted, pointing his spear at Ethan.

"I did it because I had to."

"You Telmarians committed atrocities against the people of Gor City!"

"The Blood-Cursed Tribe?!" The man was shocked, since Ethan's appearance did not resemble that cursed tribe at all.

Even so, he realized the connection made sense. The disaster that struck the city had been massive and devastating.

"You are a threat to our village!"

"Attack him!" the man shouted.

Fifty village guards charged forward with their spears. Their goal was to capture Ethan alive and judge him.

Ethan smirked. His sword was already planted in the ground, only needing activation to trigger his skill, Bloodflare Cataclysm.

"Bloodflare Cataclysm… activated!"

As he spoke the name of the skill, his ultimate ability activated, spreading a vast blood domain. Everyone was trapped inside as the sky turned crimson and the ground filled with pools of blood.

Panic broke out. Their strength and agility dropped drastically. Even so, they had no choice but to fight.

Ethan moved swiftly. He pulled out his Bloodblade Ashura and swung upward. The motion automatically activated Ashura Rift.

The attack surged forward in the shape of three claw-like slashes, tearing into his enemies. They tried to defend themselves, but their strength was nowhere near enough.

Their bodies were torn apart violently, organs spilling and drifting across the blood-soaked ground.

Out of fifty soldiers, only twenty-seven remained. Ethan did not stop. He gripped his sword tightly and swung it sideways.

Another crimson slash surged forward, once again impossible to block. The explosion killed and injured more of them. Ethan could tell the duration of his Bloodflare Cataclysm was nearly over.

He rushed forward, stepping into the pools of blood as he attacked the remaining survivors. They tried to flee, but their legs slowed as if something was holding them back.

SLASH!

Ethan cut them down, leaving deep, gaping wounds. Limbs were severed, leaving them permanently crippled.

Not long after, the twenty-second duration of the skill ended. The blood domain vanished, replaced by the forest dirt road.

What was most shocking after the domain disappeared was the condition of the fifty soldiers. Most of them were either dead or fatally wounded, beyond saving.

The guards standing on the village walls witnessed the horror. Their bodies trembled as Ethan's sharp gaze locked onto them.

They quickly abandoned the gate and walls, rushing toward the village chief's building.

They needed to inform the elders about the man who had come to destroy their village.

"Report, Elder!" one of them said in panic.

The celebration inside the village chief's building was interrupted when a guard burst in.

"What is it? Don't you know we're in the middle of a feast?" one of the elders asked.

"There's someone at the front gate. He wants to meet the village chief. This is related to Gor City."

The three elders and the village chief narrowed their eyes. They assumed he was just a desperate member of the Blood-Cursed Tribe.

They dismissed him and told the guard to handle it. But it was already too late.

BLAST!

An explosion erupted at the front gate. The sound of destruction echoed, and black smoke rose high into the sky.

He was not a desperate man. He was a man driven by vengeance.

The three elders moved at once, rushing out of the building to confront him. When they arrived, Ethan greeted them with a wide smirk.

"You… can you tell me something?" Ethan asked.

"You madman! What have you done? Call all the village guards!" one of the elders shouted.

"The village guards? Do you mean the ones out there?" Ethan asked, pointing.

The elder turned and froze in shock upon seeing all the guards lying dead. Rage filled the three elders.

"You… you will die by my hands!" he shouted.

"Wait!"

Another man stepped forward, stopping the elder. People seemed to respect him. He carried an air of authority, his expression calm and composed.

"You came to take revenge for what happened in Gor City. Am I right?" the man asked. Ethan gave a short nod.

"We are indeed Telmarian, but there's something you need to understand. The Telmarian Tribe is divided into two factions."

"The conservative faction and the progressive faction."

"We… are the Progressive Telmarian Tribe."

"We believe in maintaining peace between the two tribes."

"If you don't believe me, go to one of the shops in our village. You'll find items belonging to the Blood-Cursed Tribe."

Ethan fell silent. A child approached, carrying a woven bag with a white and crimson pattern.

He had seen a bag like that in Gor City. His eyes scanned the surroundings, noticing not just a few, but many items from the Blood-Cursed Tribe.

"So which faction was involved in the attack on Gor City?" Ethan asked.

"The conservative faction. They still see the Blood-Cursed Tribe as a cursed people."

"How about you lower your weapon and we talk? I think I can help you."
