Chapter 422: Hallucination
Lana let out a small chuckle at that.
Within a single day, Tracy’s matter was handled swiftly and cleanly.
The evidence was gathered with precision.
Every hidden thread was exposed.
Even the truth about the stolen luck... and the black magic... was quietly brought to light.
Though Tracy had lost much in the past, Lana only hoped that from now on, she would live a better life.
A day later... Lana visited Tracy once again.
This time, she handed her a card. "A small compensation," Lana said lightly.
Tracy glanced at it...and froze. "One... million dollars...?"
She immediately shook her head, panic flashing across her face. "No, I can’t accept this!"
But Lana only smiled, her expression calm yet firm. "Think of it as compensation... on behalf of heaven."
She tilted her head slightly and added, "If you don’t take it... I’ll feel a little indebted instead."
Tracy stared at her, stunned. Her eyes reddened as tears welled up uncontrollably.
"You don’t have to do this..." she choked, her voice breaking. "You weren’t the one who stole my luck... and you weren’t the one who let it happen ..."
Lana simply smiled.
From the very beginning, when she saw Tracy sharing even her last grains of food with someone else... She had already made her decision.
’A person who can give away everything... deserves everything in return ...’
She was someone who repaid kindness with kindness.
Tracy had once given away the little she had.
Now, Lana was simply returning a fraction of what she could.
At the side, Mr. Crow let out a chuckle, shaking his head. "You’re being too generous."
Lana laughed softly. "Maybe."
Then she added, her voice thoughtful, "But if someone has a hundred yuan... and is willing to give you ninety-nine... that tells you everything about their sincerity."
Her eyes softened slightly. "Tracy is that kind of person."
Mr. Crow only chuckled in response.
Just as Lana was about to leave...she paused.
Her steps halted mid-motion. Her gaze shifted back toward Tracy.
For a brief moment, her eyes sharpened. She saw something.
Something that made her expression change ever so slightly.
Then...she chuckled softly and turned away, walking out as if nothing had happened.
Mr. Crow, however, noticed.
Curiosity flickered in his eyes. "What did you see?"
Lana shook her head lightly and looked up at the sky, the vast blue stretching endlessly above.
"Sometimes... I wonder if everything I do is already written in fate..."
Mr. Crow frowned slightly, even more intrigued. "What are you talking about?"
Lana smiled faintly. "I saw her luck changing."
She paused. "It’s... accumulating again."
Mr. Crow’s eyes widened. "That’s impossible. How can that happen?"
Lana chuckled softly. "That one million... she’ll use it to learn."
Her gaze turned distant, as if she were watching a future unfold before her eyes.
"She’ll enter the stock market... slowly grow her wealth... and eventually...she’ll rise."
Her voice carried quiet certainty.
"By her mid-forties... she’ll become a real estate tycoon in Bronze City."
Mr. Crow couldn’t help but inhale sharply.
"And her husband," Lana continued, "he’ll rise quickly in the military. A promising career... becoming a general at a young age...and by the time he retires, he’ll be a lieutenant."
Mr. Crow let out a long sigh, shaking his head in disbelief. "If that’s the case... you should maintain a good relationship with her."
Lana laughed softly. Then her expression turned slightly thoughtful.
"I don’t think. I saw something unique."
Mr. Crow looked at her. "What is it?"
Lana smiled. "In my visions... I saw something connected to me."
She narrowed her eyes slightly. "A silver-haired girl."
That alone was enough.
Mr. Crow immediately grinned and gave her a thumbs up. "You really are unmatched when it comes to spotting talent."
Lana only shrugged lightly.
On the third day Lana suddenly remembered something.
"I still have to deal with that gravestone case ..."
Soon, she arrived at the address.
The mansion stood tall and elegant, its structure grand yet peaceful.
At the entrance, she was welcomed by a middle-aged woman, the same one she had made the deal with earlier.
The woman looked anxious the moment she saw Lana.
"You’re finally here," she said, relief evident in her voice. "I was starting to worry... if you didn’t come soon, something terrible might happen..."
Lana tilted her head slightly. "What happened?"
The woman hesitated before speaking, her voice lowering, "My daughter... Yumi... she’s been feeling a presence around her lately ..."
Lana frowned faintly and lifted her gaze toward the mansion.
She observed carefully. The flow of energy. The atmosphere. The surroundings.
Everything. But...there was nothing wrong.
In fact, the mansion was situated in an excellent location, with strong positive energy flow. It was the kind of place where negative entities would find it difficult to even approach.
Lana let out a quiet sigh and gave a faint, helpless smile. "I’ll investigate first."
After a thorough inspection...she reached a conclusion.
Standing in the quiet hallway, she folded her arms slightly and thought, ’The gravestone does have a minor issue.’ ...’
Her gaze shifted toward the interior of the house. ’But the mansion itself... is completely fine.’
Which meant... her eyes narrowed slightly.
’This... might not be what it seems at all...’
After Lana finished explaining her theory to Eleanor, the room fell into a heavy silence.
She stood there for a long while, before she finally spoke, her voice hesitant, "But... there have been many incidents of people seeing hallucinations here..."
Her brows furrowed, uncertainty clouding her expression.
Lana tilted her head slightly, her gaze calm yet sharp as she asked, "Has there been any kind of gas leaking in this house for a long time?"
Eleanor froze.
Her mind immediately flashed to something she had overlooked.
’The maid... she mentioned something ...’
Her lips parted slightly as realization dawned upon her.
"The cooking gas..." she murmured, her voice tinged with disbelief. "There has been a slight leak ..."
She quickly looked at Lana, her eyes filled with shock. "How did you know?"
