Ghost Exorciser: The Oust Fake Heiress Strikes

Chapter 639: Ghost Domain

Lana paused for a moment.

"Well, that is possible. So, how about we start with something that is already public? Tell me about some of your defensive abilities so that I can adjust my plans accordingly."

A trace of excitement appeared in Sophia’s eyes. "You are very smart."

Lana chuckled softly. "I could say the same about you."

Sophia then began listing her abilities.

"I have a Holy Shield. As long as the ghost is not a ten-thousand-year-old ghost, I should be able to defend against its attacks."

Lana’s eyes widened slightly. ’That defensive ability is stronger than I expected.’

Sophia continued, "Not only do I have the defensive shield, but I also possess a special artifact that I can use during this round. Considering that the ghosts we encounter are unlikely to be five-thousand-year-old ghosts, it should be quite useful."

Lana nodded. "All right. Is there anything else?"

Sophia thought for a moment before answering. "I can also help you levitate. It is one of the defensive buffs I possess."

Lana nodded again. "All right, I understand."

With that, Lana took out a talisman.

The moment Sophia saw it, her expression changed. Her eyes narrowed as she stared at the paper in Lana’s hand.

"Do you not know the rules? We cannot use talismans here."

Lana smiled calmly.

"Well, there are exceptions to that rule. Talismans cannot be used if they have been purchased, but I made this one myself."

For a moment, Sophia was stunned. "You made this yourself? You are a talisman practitioner?"

Lana nodded.

Sophia continued to stare at her before finally asking, "Why are you telling me this? Aren’t you basically exposing one of your trump cards to me?"

Lana chuckled. "I trust you. You do not seem like the kind of person who would use it against me."

Sophia laughed.

"You can think whatever you want, but if you get in my way of reaching the winning position, remember this. I will eliminate you, and I will use this secret of yours against you."

Lana simply waved her hand dismissively.

It was not as though her identity was still some great mystery.

Before, Axel had asked her to hide her identity until she reached the Celestial Master realm. Now that she had already reached that level, she was no longer particularly worried about revealing a few of her abilities.

Sophia looked at her curiously. "With this talisman, you can probably create spirit beasts, right?"

Lana shook her head. "I am not that proficient in it."

Sophia looked at Lana with a deep and complicated expression. However, after observing Lana’s completely straightforward demeanor, she eventually sighed.

"You are far too straightforward. Someone like you will definitely be betrayed someday."

Lana chuckled.

"There is a high possibility that you will be the person who betrays me. Otherwise, why would you say something like that?"

Sophia was amused by her response, and a genuine laugh escaped her lips.

The two of them continued chatting and discussing different strategies. After considering their respective strengths and weaknesses, they finally came up with a strategy that seemed reliable.

Lana would take the lead and attack from the front, while Sophia would stay behind and provide defensive support.

Of course, they also made a vow to ensure that neither of them would stab the other in the back.

Lana felt particularly uneasy about this arrangement. After all, her uncle had always warned her never to expose her back to anyone else. Yet now, she was preparing to entrust her back to someone she had only just met.

Sophia looked at Lana and smiled.

"Your coach must have done a terrible job. Otherwise, you would not be taking the front position."

Lana chuckled.

"I am placing all my hopes on the fact that someone is monitoring everything. They will see my contribution and give me extra points."

The moment she said those words, Sophia immediately shook her head. "Let’s switch."

Lana stared at her for a moment before nodding.

"All right."

They waited patiently until the clock finally reached three in the morning.

Finally, they placed two mirrors directly opposite each other.

The moment the mirrors faced one another, an infinite reflection appeared between them, stretching endlessly into the darkness.

Lana and Sophia opened the slips that had been assigned to them.

Each slip contained a special incantation provided by the International Mystical Cultivation Association.

The organization had deliberately never released the incantation to prevent any mishaps or people using Ghost Domain to dump human bodies there after murder.

For that reason, they had made certain that the incantation was never made public.

The slip also had a very special feature. As long as a person recited it, they would automatically forget the incantation.

This was something the International Mystical Cultivation Organization implemented every year to prevent any mishaps that might occur.

After the preparations were complete, Lana and Sophia entered the mirrors.

A bright flash of light suddenly erupted, forcing them to squint against the intense radiance.

Their shadows seemed to detach from their bodies before slowly standing upright and moving in two separate directions.

It was said that if two people entered the same mirror from the same direction, there was a high chance that they would end up in completely different locations.

That was why Lana and Sophia had chosen opposite directions. By doing so, they could increase the possibility of arriving at the same destination.

Sure enough, when Lana opened her eyes, she found herself standing in an incredibly dark place.

It was so dark that she could not even see the ground beneath her shoes.

Lana slowly lifted her head and saw Sophia nearby. Sophia was also looking around, trying to analyze her surroundings.

"Lana, can you see anything?"

Lana focused her eyes for a moment before shaking her head. "No. I cannot see anything either."

Sophia frowned. "This is strange."

Lana nodded slowly.

"Indeed. It seems that this entire place is completely dark."

The two of them began walking in a random direction, relying mainly on their senses rather than their eyesight.
