Liu Ruyan entered the number Shen Wuxiao gave her. Before dialing, she glanced at him and asked, “What exactly do you want me to say?”
Shen Wuxiao shook his head. “Don’t ask me. I told you—act freely. Speak like someone who truly wants to kill me.”
“Don’t worry about being too harsh. Say whatever you want. But since this is an experiment, I’ll first tell you where he is and share some of his backstory. That way, when he gets suspicious about how you know all this, you can reveal your identity.”
Liu Ruyan understood what he meant.
Shen Wuxiao then briefly explained the history between him and Ye Qingfeng. After hearing it, Liu Ruyan felt a chill run down her spine.
This Ye Qingfeng was truly unlucky.
After grasping the situation, she dialed the number. The phone rang for a long time but was finally declined.
She didn’t give up and called again.
This time, Ye Qingfeng answered. His voice was low and filled with irritation.
“Who is this?” Liu Ruyan cleared her throat and replied coldly, “Mr. Ye, I’m here to propose a cooperation.”
Ye Qingfeng was clearly stunned. “Who are you?”
Liu Ruyan remained calm. “I’ll explain that later. I know you’re in a difficult position right now. Shen Wuxiao killed all your brothers… but I believe we can join forces to take him down.”

Ye Qingfeng fell silent for a moment. “You’re his woman, and you still dare to call me?”
Liu Ruyan spoke slowly, her voice trembling with emotion. “Yes, I belong to him… but do you really think I want this?”
Then her voice choked. “Shen Wuxiao slaughtered my entire family. He forced me to be with him. I want him dead more than anyone else!”
Tears welled up in her eyes. She wasn’t pretending—every word came from real pain. The emotions were raw, and even speaking them aloud to her enemy made her heart race.
Shen Wuxiao watched her with amusement.
Ye Qingfeng paused. “You said your name is Liu Ruyan? From Zhonghai?”
He vaguely remembered Shen Wuxiao mentioning her when Zhuque was killed.
Among the many who had wanted Shen Wuxiao dead, only one named Liu Ruyan was still alive.
“Yes,” Liu Ruyan confirmed. Then, she began recounting her story in detail.
After hearing her out, Ye Qingfeng replied, “Alright, give me some time to think.”
Then he hung up.
Liu Ruyan looked at Shen Wuxiao. He wiped the tears from her cheek.
“He’s already ordered someone to investigate you. If all goes as expected, he’ll call back soon.”
“Everything you told him is true. It’s all verifiable.”
As expected, Ye Qingfeng had someone verify her story. He reached out to contacts in other cities for information.
Seven minutes later, Liu Ruyan’s phone rang again.
The moment she picked up, Ye Qingfeng asked, “How do we cooperate?”
Shen Wuxiao nearly laughed aloud.
Ye Qingfeng was decisive. After the investigation, he found that Liu Ruyan’s identity was unquestionable. Her story was too tragic to be fabricated.
“I’m close to Shen Wuxiao now,” Liu Ruyan said. “He’s still cautious around me, but I know his movements.”
“I can’t kill him on my own, so the best thing I can do is provide you with accurate intel. You act, I supply the information. We’ll stay in constant contact.”
That was exactly what Ye Qingfeng lacked at the moment—solid intel.
“Alright,” he agreed without hesitation, and hung up.
Liu Ruyan looked at Shen Wuxiao again.
He smiled. “Perfect. That’s how it should be.”
“I won’t interfere anymore. Just cooperate as you wish, follow the plan, and do what you must.”
“This is your only chance to kill me. Don’t waste it.”
Liu Ruyan didn’t reply.
Shen Wuxiao stood up and crooked his finger at her. “Now that the experiment’s over, it’s time for something I enjoy.”
Without hesitation, Liu Ruyan rose and followed him upstairs.
