The Smiling Death

Chapter 400: Kazriel (3)

Kezriel looked at him. He was slightly cautious, as if ready to handle whatever attack Vetaal might throw at him.

’Amon... I will be taking control over your body... once I am inside you... I will absorb the huge amount of mana in the air and even use my magic to reconstruct your body... so I could fight him on equal terms... but once I reach my limit and we get separated... you might die.’

Amon listened to him quietly and nodded his head.

"Do it..."

A huge red magic circle suddenly appeared beneath Amon and Vetaal.

The circle was enormous, covering the entire ground around them. Strange symbols and ancient runes glowed in deep crimson light, spinning slowly around the outer ring. Lines of energy connected the symbols like a complex magic formation.

The air around them started vibrating.

A heavy pressure filled the surroundings as mana in the air began to gather toward the magic circle.

Kezriel looked down at the circle, then at Vetaal.

His eyes narrowed slightly.

"What are you doing?" Kezriel asked.

Vetaal slowly turned his head toward him and smiled widely.

"I am preparing to kill you," he said calmly.

Then suddenly, Vetaal’s body began to change.

His body slowly started becoming transparent, like a ghost made of red mist. His form flickered, and his body turned into flowing red energy.

Amon stood still inside the magic circle, not moving, not resisting.

The red energy that was Vetaal slowly moved toward Amon.

Then it entered his body.

It looked like red smoke being absorbed into Amon’s chest, arms, and head.

At that exact moment, Kezriel’s eyes widened.

He understood what was happening.

"You dare—"

Before he could finish, he vanished from his spot and dashed toward them at lightning speed.

BOOM!

An explosion occurred where Amon and Vetaal were standing as Kezriel’s attack landed.

Dust, smoke, and debris exploded everywhere.

The ground cracked, and stones flew into the air.

For a few seconds, nothing could be seen because of the smoke.

Then slowly, the smoke began to fade away. And the scene became clear again. Two figures were standing there.

Kezriel was in a punching position, his fist extended forward.

His punch had stopped. Because his fist was blocked.

Amon was standing in front of him with his eyes closed. He had blocked Kezriel’s punch with his right palm.

It was very easily done.

The shockwave from the impact spread across the ground, cracking the earth beneath their feet.

But Amon did not move even a single step back. His body looked slightly different now.

He had become taller, nearly six feet tall. His posture was straighter, more confident, more dangerous. The air around him felt heavy and suffocating.

Slowly, Amon opened his eyes. His eyes were no longer normal black color. They were glowing blood red.

A huge smile slowly formed on his face. But the voice that came out of his mouth...

Did not belong to Amon. "Hehehe..."

It was Vetaal’s voice. Kezriel’s expression immediately turned tense. For the first time since he appeared, his confident expression disappeared. He became tense.

He froze in his position, staring at Amon’s red eyes.

"Vetaal...you-" he said slowly.

Amon, or rather Vetaal inside Amon’s body, tilted his head slightly and looked at Kezriel with a wide, excited smile.

Then he started laughing. "HAHAHAHAHAHA!"

His laughter echoed across the battlefield.

The air around them began to shake as enormous mana started gathering toward Amon’s body from the surroundings.

Wind started blowing outward from him in all directions.

Dust, stones, and broken branches began to float slightly due to the pressure of mana.

Vetaal stretched Amon’s fingers slowly and looked at his hands.

"Hmmm... This body is not bad... Not bad at all..." he said while observing his new body.

He clenched his fist slowly, and a red aura appeared around his arm. Kazriel lunged backward. Getting away from Amon’s body.

Then he looked directly at Kezriel.

"Now..." he said with a huge grin.

"Let’s fight like equals."

Kezriel slowly pulled his fist back and floated a few meters away from him.

His purple eyes glowed brighter now.

"I see... So this is your plan," Kezriel said calmly, but his eyes were serious now.

"You possessed the boy’s body and are using mana and his blood to stabilize your power. Construct his body in a way that helps you to recover some part of your old power."

Vetaal smirked. "You talk too much."

Amon’s face turned towards Scarlett and Mark who were free from Kazriel’s pressure.

This time Amon’s voice came. "Scarlett and Uncle Mark. Get away from here...as far as possible."

Scarlett looked at him worriedly...but she knew..right now she needs to believe in Amon and Vetaal.

Both of them stood up and started to move away from them.

Suddenly, the ground beneath Amon cracked.

BOOM!

He disappeared from his position and appeared in front of Kezriel instantly.

He threw a punch.

Kezriel blocked it with his arm.

BOOOOM!!!

A massive shockwave exploded in the air from the collision.

The trees nearby were blown away from the pressure. The ground cracked in a huge circle beneath them.

Both of them moved again at insane speed, disappearing and reappearing across the battlefield.

BOOM!

BOOM!

BOOM!

Each time their fists collided, explosions occurred.

They moved so fast that Amon could barely even see what was happening inside his own body. He could only feel the insane amount of mana moving through him like a storm.

Inside his mind, Amon could hear Vetaal’s voice.

"Your body is not bad... but we need to finish this fast."

Outside, Vetaal kicked Kezriel in the stomach, sending him flying through multiple trees.

CRASH! CRASH! CRASH!

Kezriel stopped in mid-air and wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth.

Then he smiled.

"So this is your recovered power? Interesting."

He raised his hand, and purple energy began gathering around him like lightning made of violet flames.

Vetaal cracked his neck and smiled even wider.

"Come, Kezriel... Let us see who survives today."

The air trembled. The ground cracked. The sky above the forest darkened slightly from the pressure of their mana. And then both of them dashed toward each other again at full speed.

BOOOOOOM!!!
