Chapter 742: The Strength to Talk Shit
The guards led Garion and Rachel through several long corridors before finally stopping in front of a large guest room.
The room was extremely luxurious, with crimson-black walls, golden dragon patterns, soft volcanic crystal lamps, and a wide window that showed the broken-star fortress outside.
After the guards left, the door closed behind them, and for a moment, the room became quiet.
Rachel slowly turned toward Garion. "Garion."
Garion looked around the room with interest. "Not bad. Their guest room is pretty good."
Rachel stared at him. "Hey."
Garion finally turned his head. "What?"
Rachel pointed back toward the direction of the palace. "Why the hell did you do that?"
Garion blinked innocently. "Do what?"
Rachel’s pink-gold eyes narrowed slightly. "You know exactly what I mean."
Atlas floated near the ceiling and immediately nodded.
[Yes. Please explain why you nearly turned an Intermediate-Rank God’s palace into a pressure cooker.]
Garion scratched his cheek and walked toward the wide window.
For a few seconds, he said nothing. But under Rachel’s unwavering gaze, he eventually sighed. "His eyes irritate me."
Rachel paused. "His eyes?"
"And his attitude." Garion crossed his arms. "The way he looked at us. Like we were some weird toys Volkrath dragged here."
Atlas stared at him.
[That is because we are weird toys Volkrath dragged here.]
Garion ignored him.
Rachel walked beside Garion and looked at him seriously. "Even so, he is still a God."
Garion turned his head toward her.
Rachel continued, "Not just a Low-Rank God like Volkrath. He is an Intermediate-Rank God. We are in his territory, inside a meeting place filled with other terrifying beings."
Garion nodded slowly. "True."
Rachel’s expression softened slightly. "Then why provoke him?"
Garion looked back through the window.
Outside, countless divine palaces floated around the broken star.
Each one carried an aura that could make ordinary Celestial Realm cultivators kneel without resistance.
After a moment, Garion suddenly grinned. "A God, huh?"
Rachel frowned slightly.
Garion turned toward her. "But why did he feel weaker than me?"
Rachel became silent.
Atlas’s tiny face stiffened.
[Garion.]
Garion continued calmly, "Or weaker than you?"
Rachel’s pink-gold eyes moved slightly.
Garion leaned against the window frame. "I’m not saying his cultivation is fake. He has Divine Energy, divine authority, and all that proper God stuff."
His grin widened. "But when he pressured us, I didn’t feel like I was about to die."
He looked down at his hand. Purple-black-white light flickered faintly beneath his skin. "I felt like my body could eat it."
Rachel lowered her gaze toward her own palm. Pink-gold light gathered softly around her fingers. "And I felt like mine could calm it down."
Garion pointed at her. "Exactly."
Atlas floated in front of Garion and Rachel with an unusually serious expression.
[Of course you two are stronger.]
Garion raised an eyebrow. "Oh?"
Atlas pointed at him, then at Rachel.
[You are basically not ordinary Celestial Realm cultivators anymore.]
Rachel looked toward Atlas. "Because of the [God Physique Celestial Ascension]?"
Atlas nodded.
[Exactly. Your current state is closer to a Demigod. You are not true Gods yet, but you are also no longer walking the same path as normal Celestial Realm cultivators.]
Rachel rubbed her chin. "So we skipped the normal route?"
[More like you punched a hole through the normal route, built a gym on top of it, and called it progress.]
Garion grinned. "Sounds like me."
Atlas sighed but continued.
[After the Demigod stage, your next true breakthrough should not be ordinary Low-Rank God, Intermediate-Rank God, or High-Rank God.]
Rachel’s eyes shifted slightly.
Atlas’s voice became heavier.
[You should step directly toward True God.]
The room fell quiet for a moment.
Even Garion’s grin paused slightly.
Rachel slowly asked, "True God?"
Atlas nodded.
[Yes. A True God is not the same as a normal ranked God. Low-Rank God, Intermediate-Rank God, and High-Rank God are still within the ordinary God Realm ranking. But a True God has a much more complete divine foundation.]
His tiny wings fluttered as he continued.
[A True God is far stronger than a High-Rank God.]
Garion’s eyes slowly brightened.
Atlas immediately pointed at him.
[Do not look so happy.]
Garion ignored him completely and turned toward Rachel. "So that’s why."
Rachel looked at him. "Why what?"
Garion leaned against the window and grinned. "That’s why I didn’t really care when I provoked that dragon elder."
Rachel stared at him silently.
Garion spread both hands. "I mean, I provoked him, so what?"
Atlas’s expression went blank.
Garion continued casually, "What can he do? Kill me? Crush me with pressure? Burn me? Throw me out?"
His grin became even wider. "If he could, he would have done it already."
Rachel sighed softly. "You are becoming more arrogant."
Garion pointed at himself. "Not arrogant."
Atlas muttered,
[Here we go.]
Garion’s purple-black-white eyes glowed faintly. "Confident."
Rachel gave him a calm look.
Garion continued, "There’s a difference. If I only talked big without strength, then yeah, that’s stupid."
He clenched his fist, and the space around his knuckles bent slightly. "But I have the strength to speak."
Rachel lowered her gaze toward her own hand.
Pink-gold light gathered softly around her fingers, warm and steady.
She could still remember the dragon elder’s pressure. It had been heavy, ancient, and terrifying, but not impossible to resist.
Her [Love] authority had simply wrapped around it, calmed it, and refused to let it crush her.
Rachel’s expression became thoughtful. "So we really can handle Low-Rank Gods and Intermediate-Rank Gods?"
Atlas hesitated for a moment before answering.
[Handle does not mean easily defeat. But yes, with your current foundations, ordinary Low-Rank Gods and some Intermediate-Rank Gods should not be able to suppress you casually.]
Garion nodded with satisfaction. "Good enough."
Atlas narrowed his eyes.
[That does not mean you should start picking fights tomorrow.]
Garion looked away.
Rachel immediately looked at him. "Garion."
Garion coughed once. "I didn’t say anything."
Atlas crossed his arms.
[You thought it loudly again.]
Garion smiled shamelessly. "Can’t prove that."
Rachel shook her head, but the corner of her lips still lifted slightly.
Outside the window, countless divine auras continued moving through the ancient fortress.
Tomorrow’s meeting would gather terrifying beings from powerful forces.
Yet inside the room, Garion only looked forward to it more.
After all, if they had the strength to speak, then God Gym no longer needed to lower its voice.
