Chapter 1668: Bloodline
Fenrir suddenly turned back towards Lex, an excited gleam flickering through his eyes. Everything that the pup had learned, it had learned from Lex. Whether it was hunting, or teasing his opponents, or how to have fun regardless of the situation.
Of course, the things Fenrir had learned from its bloodline didnโt count. So now that Lex wanted to make a cool entrance, it was greatly interested. More importantly, Fenrir hadnโt had much of an opportunity to test his new strength. It spent most of its time within the castle. Now that an opportunity had presented itself it wouldnโt let it go.
Just a few minutes later, a fully suited Fenrir stepped out of the castle, with Lex sitting on its back. The pup had increased its size, forgoing its stealth for a greater visual impact - not to mention increasing its size also improved its physical strength.
Under the night sky, and above the glaciers that served as the ground, a fierce battle was raging. The two hellion armies produced by the castle had been deployed, meaning that icy wyverns and hellhounds fought tirelessly against the invading horde of evil.
If the locusts covered these lands during the day, then at night It became the ruler of the night. Wraiths rose from beneath the glaciers in the form of ancient beasts. Though, for ethereal beings, the armor and weapons they held were very much solid.
As their blades cut through the air, instead of whistling they produced wails. They produced the cries of countless souls being sliced into smaller, more edible pieces. The armors were made of bones, harder than steel, more durable than life itself. The wraiths themselves were twisted abominations forcefully conjured using remnant resentments.
They were the incarnation of the vile, the form given to the foul - a nightmare for all of life. But they themselves were just puppets controlled by It.
They threw their bodies and souls at the obstacles that stood in their way, their target Lex. His soul presented an attraction that could not be resisted, his abundant karma a panacea to alleviate the pains of Universal Rejection. Unfortunately, no matter how insidious they were, now matter what power they used, they could not reach him.
Then, without warning, he came to them, astride a divine mount. He did not need to announce his presence, for they could smell the positive karma on him from miles away. Even so, Lex announced his presence on the battlefield.
His announcement? It was his Domination which spread out like a blanket, covering everything in sight, freezing the wraiths where they hovered.
"Die," he said simply, using his latest Lawcraft, Supremacy. As if loyal subjects obeying the command of their liege, die the wraiths did. As a result, Lex was rewarded for ridding the universe of those that suffered its rejection, and a tide of positive karma came flooding his way like a stream of light in the darkness.
His very presence there shifted the focus of the battle, and the heavy siege that Kaemon was facing suddenly became much easier. Kaemon, who had been contacted by Lexโs clone via spirit sense, already anticipated such a change, and took full advantage of it.
