Chapter 888 888 - Finally time
The three of them talked about plans for future children a little longer, until they split up. Emma decided to do a little training because there was no way for her to help with what Erik and Elora were planning to do.
First, the fairy and her beloved moved to the centre hall of Erik's dimension. This was the hall where the portal would usually drop someone off after stepping through it. The walls of it were lined with the various doors leading to every part of the home they'd been gifted by Audumla—from the crafting rooms, to the training area, to the living rooms.
In the middle of this circular hall, a number of pillars formed a circle around its centre, with a small pedestal in the middle. This pedestal had once held the dimension's core, which Erik had absorbed in order to activate his spatial affinity seed and integrate this dimension into himself.
Now, it was time for another core to take its place.
"Finally ready to get this thing out of my home?" Elora asked, a confident and playful smirk once again gracing her lips after recovering from her vulnerable moment.
"Heh, absolutely," Erik chuckled as he walked over to the pedestal. "It's served me well, and you saved all our lives by creating it, but it's time to give it a more permanent home."
Reaching the centre, he brushed his fingers past the pedestal and recounted in his mind how they'd gotten to this point and what he needed to do next. He thought back to Lemayian, the remnant soul and Naeku's ancestor who'd appeared in the facility under Enkare Nkai. Their initial meeting had been… unpleasant, to say the least, but it had still resulted in a net positive.
They—or rather, Lemayian and Elora—had created a method through which he could continue using his Elorium core, but without storing it in his soul. Rather, he'd use his spatial affinity to store it inside his dimension, which is why he had to reach the second spatial rank first.
The reason for this was partially to give Elora the ability to merge with him back, and partially because… well, this situation was actually incredibly dangerous. If anything happened to destabilise the core while it was within his soul, the consequences could only be speculated on, but it wasn't likely to be good for him.
Which of these two reasons was more important to them was surprisingly vague…
Of course, if something happened to the core while it was within his dimension, the consequences were equally unpredictable, and probably equally bad… but his dimension had many advantages over his soul.
Mainly, it was just much easier to move something out of his dimension than it was from his soul. If something ever happened to the core, he'd need less than a millisecond to rip it from his dimension and toss it as far as his spatial powers would reach.
Of course, not even that was good enough, because what if he was unconscious? But they'd prepared for that.
As Erik brushed his fingers past the pedestal, Elora stayed outside of the inner circle and placed a hand on one of the pillars. Instantly, the entire centre lit up with innumerable sigils that lined not only the pillars, but the floor and pedestal they encircled. Elora grinned upon their appearance. "Do you like my work?" she purred, obviously fishing for compliments.
Erik's eyes drifted across the intricate tapestry of sigils as he chuckled and smirked. "It looks both amazing and completely out of my depth as usual, my love. Where do you find the time for it?"
Prideful, Elora giggled and grinned. She loved it when he praised her. "Just one of my many projects, Erik." A hint of obsessive love and desire for power flashed through her eyes. "We won't reach the heights I desire for us by taking it easy."
Erik's gaze travelled back to Elora as he frowned with a hint of worry. "That may be true, but we won't get there if you have a nervous breakdown along the way, you know? Remember to rest."
The beautiful fairy rolled her eyes, amused. "Oh, stop. Do you really think that'd ever happen to me?" She winked mischievously. "As long as I have a husband who fucks me into a coma on occasion, I'm sure I'll be fine."
The worry in his eyes instantly melted to make way for the desire to devour her body right then and there. It really was extremely easy for Elora to get her husband in the mood…
Seeing the look in his eyes, the fairy giggled and waved her hand. Instantly, a kind of transparent barrier raised to fill the space between the pillars, seemingly locking Erik inside.
"Not now, you horny idiot!" she teased, grinning. "Rather than being fucked into a coma, I'm much more looking forward to taking a well-deserved rest inside the true home that I've missed so much over the past months!"
Erik's lust settled down as he grinned back at her. "Well, admittedly, I'm also looking forward to having you inside me much more than the other way around for once."
For a moment, silence settled as Elora's eyebrows flew up and her teasing smile only widened. "Oh~?" she purred softly. "Is that so~?"
Erik, completely aware of what he'd said, smirked back at her. "Now who's the horny idiot, huh? You'll never stick anything inside me physically, and we both know you wouldn't enjoy it as much, anyway! Now, let's get started!"
Elora pouted with a small blush, her mind shortly drifting back to last night when Erik filled every single one of her holes… before quickly focusing on the task ahead. "Alright, you know what to do," she said as her brows started furrowing in deep focus.
He nodded. He'd researched everything thoroughly recently during his week with Emma. Taking a deep breath, he gripped both sides of the pedestal and closed his eyes. He turned his attention inward and gently touched upon the part of his soul Elora had claimed.
Right now, it was filled with the Elorium core and integrated into his inner energy flow, and that was the hardest part. He could take the core out with a little bit of effort, but doing it without irreparable damage to his energy flow was trickier. Not to mention that he had to redirect the flow to connect to his dimension, instead…
