Black Clover: The Son of Fire Dragon Igneel

Chapter 715: SFDI - 715

Seeing the Earth Dragon God vanish into dust, Drake showed no intention of relaxing, not even deactivating his combat state.

It wasn’t out of fear that the Earth Dragon God hadn’t completely died. Drake had clearly sensed that all the Cores of Dogramag, imbued with the Earth Dragon God’s aura within the Great Labyrinth, had been destroyed before he ceased releasing his Dragon Slayer Secret Art.

Drake’s current stance was entirely due to the arrival of uninvited guests.

Selene, in the distance, also looked in the same direction, her magic power practically itching for action.

Drake stared intently at the horizon, where a small black dot was rapidly growing larger. Within a few breaths, the figure of the approaching entity became clear.

Who else could it be but the Fire Dragon God Ignia, who bore a ninety percent resemblance to Igneel?

As Ignia approached, the surrounding temperature seemed to rise.

Drake, however, scoffed disdainfully. Such a display was useless beyond announcing his presence, a sheer waste of magic power. What’s more, it wasn’t even cool. He truly couldn’t even show off properly.

Not sensing any hostility from Ignia, Drake didn’t immediately attack to bring him down but watched as he landed before him.

Drake’s expression was somewhat peculiar, wondering if he should remind his "cheap older brother" that he was standing on his good brother’s ashes.

However, after landing, Ignia simply looked at Drake and said, "Long time no see! You’ve gotten stronger since we last met! I heard you even defeated Acnologia. I was originally planning to use that guy to prove I’ve surpassed Father!"

Drake felt he could barely control his emotions; the statement was simply laughable.

If he had that thought, why hadn’t he acted sooner? He hadn’t seen Ignia go fight Acnologia at all.

So Drake said sarcastically, "Then you must be truly formidable, scaring Acnologia into hiding.

But you must be here for Dogramag, right? Why not ask? He considered you a good brother!"

Ignia tilted his head back, saying indifferently, "Dogramag is indeed my only true friend and the brother I acknowledge.

But since he lost to you, there’s nothing more to say! He is weaker than you. In the world of dragons, nothing surpasses that principle."

Drake let out a long sigh and said, "Then your world of dragons is truly cold. That’s why I never liked it!"

Ignia looked at Drake, his vertical pupils, which normally flowed like lava, now filled with icy coldness.

"Is that so? I was hoping you would stand by my side. And it seems Father’s choices remain the same as ever.

But it doesn’t matter. Your choices don’t matter! Although Dogramag was defeated by you, he has accomplished what he needed to.

From now on, you shall await the return of the era that belongs to dragons!"

Drake retorted uncompromisingly, "I will stop you. I will absolutely not hand the world over to you to do as you please!"

Ignia burst into laughter, saying, "Oh, this is getting interesting!

Come to the City of Fire God. Let the battle between us decide the fate of this world."

Before Drake could reply, another voice reached their ears.

"A war to decide the world’s fate? Then count me in!"

Drake and Ignia’s expressions changed, and they both turned to look in another direction.

Though the approaching man made no sound as he walked, for some reason, each step he took carried a heart-stopping sense of pressure.

Even powerhouses like Drake and Ignia’s breathing hitched slightly upon seeing the newcomer.

And there was only one person in this world who could elicit such a reaction from both a human and a dragon.

The approaching young man had short black hair, wore a high-collared black robe on his upper body, a pendant on his chest, a white sash tied around the robe, and black boots on his feet.

The legendary Black Wizard, whose name was considered taboo, the creator of the demons in the Book of Zeref, the embodiment of calamity and death.

These were his identities, and his name was Zeref Dragneel.

Zeref said to Drake, "I still underestimated you. I didn’t expect you to defeat Acnologia!

Then let me see if you can create another miracle... whether you can defeat me, the Black Wizard!"

Saying this, Zeref looked at Ignia and said, "Igneel’s son, huh? To want to recreate the world of four hundred years ago, you’re quite a mad and foolish fellow!"

Ignia did not get angry but said, "Zeref? I heard he was also an opponent Father couldn’t defeat. Are you also going to participate in this war!

This is perfect. Come at us together! A war of humans, dragons, and the Black Wizard—this is the true Dragon King Festival!"

Deep crimson, red, and black—three auras seemed to divide the entire world into thirds. The man, the dragon, and the Black Wizard stood in a triangular standoff.

The confrontation between the three seemed to distort time and space around them. After an unknown duration, they each calmed down.

Because all three parties knew that such a stalemate would yield no results, the fate of the world would depend on the outcome of the subsequent war.

Ignia flapped his wings and took to the sky first.

Drake glanced at Zeref before turning to leave. Zeref’s body was enveloped in black mist, and he vanished in an instant.

Sensing that both Ignia and Zeref’s auras had disappeared, Drake finally deactivated his combat state and found Elefseria and Selene.

Elefseria looked at Drake with a complex gaze. He had initially thought his Century Quest was troublesome enough, but he hadn’t expected events to escalate to involve the fate of the entire world.

Selene was more direct, saying, "So, is the war really going to happen?"

Drake smiled wryly and nodded, "Do you think this battle can be avoided?"

Zeref’s sudden appearance was definitely outside Drake’s plans, and as a participant on one side, he wouldn’t be fighting alone.

He would participate as the Emperor of the Alvarez Empire, leading the Spriggan 12 and a vast magical army.

However, the good news was that Zeref and Ignia were not allied.

Zeref sought self-destruction. Drake knew that Zeref’s declaration of war on him was a hope that Drake would end his cursed life, just as he had slain Acnologia.

And for Zeref, who had lost his family to dragons, Ignia’s goal was something he detested.

Therefore, for any of the three parties involved in the war, the other two were enemies.

For Drake, this was a favorable condition. At the very least, the other two were obstacles that had to be overcome, and now they could weaken each other.

Drake looked at his clenched fists and muttered to himself, "This is truly... igniting!"
