Chapter 729
Liu Haozhe smiled and said, “Hello, Third Sister-in-law.”
After the children gave their greetings, they picked up the small tub and placed it on the table in the main room.
Han Jinyu said in disgust, “Isn’t it dirty for you guys to be eating bugs like this?”
Han Qinghua, “Sister, you don’t know, but these taste the best when they’re roasted,” He took one and put it in his mouth before saying to Liu Haozhe, “Elder Brother Haozhe, try it; you’ll never get a taste like this in the County.”
Liu Haozhe said with a smile, “I ate it a lot when I was a kid. Back then, there were many trees in the County. We would all go and catch them— pretty sure I caught a bunch as well,” He looked at the pole held by Sanwang with great nostalgia, “Hey kid, would you let me try one?”
Sanwang glanced at his Eldest Brother, who nodded and handed it over to Liu Haozhe.
Han Qinghua glanced at Han Jinyu and poked her before she reluctantly put a bag of candy on the table, “Sister-in-law, Liu Haozhe bought this for you.”
Liu Haozhe laughed when he heard it, “It’s my first time here and I couldn’t think of anything to buy, so I just bought a bag of candy to be safe.”
Lin Lan thanked him and asked the children to share the candy. The kids then thanked Liu Haozhe.
Han Qinghua went to hang out in the woods outside to try and catch some cicadas. Liu Haozhe was also very enthusiastic about it, so he left to do the same while bringing the boys along.
Han Jinyu didn’t want to be exposed to the sun and she didn’t seem to be very happy either. She pouted and made a face, but instead of following the boys and the two young men, she sat down at the table and ate some candy.
Lin Lan smiled and said, “Don’t make that face, just take it back if you don’t want to give it to us. The children will appreciate your kindness even if they only get one to eat.”
