Cultivation Struggles of a Lowly Fox

Chapter 768 – Witch Aiko + Cannons = …?

"Did you notice?" Danji chuckled at Mei.

"I did." Mei chuckled back. The 'Dream Realm' became quite unstable after Aiko fired those cannons.

"I'm not sure if we should encourage her?" The bird lady felt like this place had a time limit, so they could just wait it out and let it pass.

"Why?" Yuxi tilted her head. Why couldn't Aiko play more? It was so much fun to watch!

The bird lady briefly pitied whoever made this place, but remembering that this place was once in the hands of the Earthen Elephants, she quickly changed her opinion. Although, that still didn't mean she was not wishing to just wait it out.

Mei and Danji were of the same opinion, let Aiko destroy this place so that everyone would be free.

There was no guarantee that the others would be able to leave just because this place reached its time limit. As such it was better to destroy it and make everyone leave this place even if it meant against their will.

Mei explained her reasoning to the bird lady, not because her opinion mattered, but because she could possibly give them a new insight.

"That's not a bad idea." The bird lady didn't consider the other places having different timing. She also didn't know how much time passed on the outside, so maybe this was the safer bet?

"But I'm staying in this place." The bird lady found this kind of Fox quite scary, so she didn't want to approach them.

"That is fine by us." Mei didn't mind that, since it was safer over here. She was also considering staying behind, but seeing the eager Danji, she quickly changed her tune.

Following everyone down to where Aiko was, they immediately exchanged nice greetings.

Yuxi and Wanshu hugged Aiko happily. They kept giggling while telling Aiko that they liked the 'fireworks' and that they wanted to try flying the cannon too.

Unfortunately, they were not quite as robust as Aiko was inside this place, so they had to quickly give up on that.

Danji was next, since Mei came over as last, and she hugged Aiko too, with a bit of squishy squish.

This naturally upset Mei, but she was not as bold as Danji, so she would just give her an earful later on.

Witch Aiko giggled with them and hugged Mei too. She was looking forward to what they planned, since she noticed that the tower was no longer getting bigger. At first, it was a thin tower, but then they had to reinforce the foundation, so they simply made it wider and thicker.

Unfortunately, what she hoped for didn't happen as the group enthusiastically shared their happiness over the cannons.

At first Witch Aiko couldn't understand why everyone was supporting her with her chaos, but soon after, Danji spilled the beans.

"We have noticed that this place gets weaker each time you try to fire the cannon, so this might be our ticket out of this place." Danji explained to Aiko, since she didn't like leaving her in the dark.

"Ohhhh~" Witch Aiko smirked. Finally, someone appreciated her 'explosive' nature, and she was even allowed to do more! She was very happy about this and would do her best to just wreck this place~!

"I will do my best." Witch Aiko smiled happily, humming as she ran away to a more 'open' area.

Witch Aiko had to leave this place, since every tree that was uprooted left behind quite the hole and Witch Aiko needed a large area for what she was planning next.

First, she would test some theories on unsullied grounds, so that her final plan could be flawless~!

The group attentively gazed at Aiko and what she was doing. The bird lady was also forced to come along, since they were leaving the tower area.

Witch Aiko created another cannon out of a branch. It was such a surreal feeling that a tiny branch could turn into a huge cannon. However, she didn't mind that, she was quite happy that this was a lot easier than her previous 'homework'.

Stolen story; please report.

Nodding her head slowly, the cannon fired once and twice to ensure it wouldn't blow up in her face for the time being and then it happened.

Witch Aiko hammered it like her life depended on it and the simple cannon changed into a vicious repeater!

*BBBBBBBBBBBBOOOOM*

Witch Aiko fired a barrage of cannonballs, feeling pleased that the cannon was able to endure and didn't even warm up that much.

With her first experiment successful, she didn't need to do more. This place was also quite flat and empty, so she had the perfect place to start this.

"We will keep the flying stuff away, so just keep at it!" Mei chuckled, since Aiko found a way out, everyone would naturally support her.

"Okay~" Witch Aiko suddenly had strange glasses on her face. They were completely black, but looked quite cool.

Witch Aiko went for the second test, the jumping cannon.

The cannon would be aimed at the ground and then firing it at certain intervals, changing its orientation and firing all over the place.

Of course there was the issue that Witch Aiko might hit someone, but the chances were so low that she didn't mind it. If something happened, Witch Aiko could step in, since those cannonballs were quite slow for her.

The large cannon was aimed at the ground and fired. The deafening roar was much worse than before, since the ground was trying to trap the sound, making it even more pronounced.

The large cannon blasted high into the sky as the barrel spun around.

Once it was far enough away, the second shot was fired, making the whole cannon spin like crazy.

And then it was just a matter of keep firing until something crazy happened!

At first nothing too odd was happening other than the cannon spasming like crazy, but once it hit the ground and jumped up again it started to speed up like crazy and crash into everything.

Witch Aiko was startled by this reaction and thought that this might be bad, but seeing the cannon 'blasting' away, she didn't worry too much about it.

"Let's hope it doesn't return." Witch Aiko seriously nodded her head several times, but the group was quite scared. In the last moment before it disappeared. The cannon was very fast, and they wouldn't have enough time to react to it if it flew over.

"Yeah." Witch Aiko nodded her head again before starting to build the foundation of her catastrophe~!

The first layer had a cannon next to a cannon next to a cannon.

Just the start and the whole group already thought that Aiko was overdoing it, but nobody would be able to stop her at this point, so they could only give up and brace for the impact that Aiko would create.

However, Witch Aiko was not finished. As stated before that was just the foundation, so nobody said it was limited by a single row of cannons. No, no, it was quite the opposite.

Witch Aiko immediately built the first floor, and the second floor. With each cannon placed down the more the group nervously gulped. This was past overdoing it and into the territory of 'batshit insane'!

Witch Aiko didn't stop until she created a beautiful half sphere of cannons. Each was directed in a slightly different direction, but all of them would be able to shoot at once if Aiko wished.

The group made themselves a home that they reinforced. It was in the centre of the cannons, and fortunately, those cannons were aiming out, so they wouldn't be in any danger for the time being.

Witch Aiko added some mechanism that would allow her to trigger them individually.

"What is she doing this time?" The bird lady nudged everyone who was trying to hide to explain the situation to them.

"Huh? Is that a piano?" Mei was surprised that Aiko found something like that, since piano was mostly an Immortal World creation.

Aiko found that stashed in the Empire that she ruined and inside the main hall she explored. It was an old piece and Witch Aiko didn't know how it worked, but that was fine. For what she was planning even this clumsy imitation was enough.

She pressed one of the keys and a cannon fired. Witch Aiko was making sure that each cannon had their own key, so that she could play them as she wished.

"Oh, f-" Before Mei could finish, Witch Aiko fired them in quick succession, making everyone's ears ring a bit.

However, that didn't end there. Witch Aiko put the black glasses on her nose once again and then-

An orchestra of explosions and demolition was created. Witch Aiko played something nonsensically, but since she was supposed to cause chaos, this was fine. She didn't need to be musically gifted for the time being~!

Witch Aiko kept shooting and shooting until the 'Dream Realm' quivered. It was scared of this lunatic and wanted to kick her out, but it couldn't do that due to the numerous cannons blocking the view and deafening any other sound than that of a cannon.

Witch Aiko marvelled at her creation and just mashed the keys as she wished, letting the cannon fire like crazy and letting the cannonballs destroy anything and everything in their paths!

The 'Moon' was now completely terrified and was willing to just kick them out, but the amount of cannonballs it had to process was too large, making it only focus on the 'simulation' rather than the Foxes.

Witch Aiko quickly changed her attire, she was now in light clothing, and jumping around blasting the cannons like it was music.

Everyone inside the temporary house was covering their ears, because it was crazy how much destruction and noise Aiko was making.

Everyone hated that, but they could feel this place stretching thin thanks to what she was doing. The end was near! They just have to bear it for a while and it will be over!

The 'Dream Realm' was creaking, like someone was crying out because of what was happening right now, but nobody was able to stop it.

Witch Aiko already created everything so she just has to keep pressing those keys and let those cannons rip~!

Cracks appeared all over them, like the space itself was breaking. Everyone inside the temporary house knew that the end was near, but they didn't expect it to come soon.

It was a surprise, but quite a welcome one...
