But what Weiss asked about was martial arts, and as one of the few inheritors of Mian Zhang Fist, Yang Yi had the obligation, the responsibility, to reveal the martial art he practiced.

And Weiss was indeed a master of combat, so Yang Yi had to respond.

This was out of respect for Weiss, and even more so, the most fundamental but greatest respect for the martial art he inherited.

Now, Yang Yi had answered, and then he said, "Please enlighten me."

"Please enlighten me" meant that you may now comment on this martial art; if you say this martial art is very impressive, and I’m no match for it, then Yang Yi would modestly demure a few words, and everyone would be happy.

If Weiss were to say what kind of crappy thing is your martial art, then they would have to continue fighting until the other party cries for mercy and kneels down, admitting that your martial art is truly impressive.

This is one of the unwritten rules within ancient martial arts. Yang Yi does not consider himself a traditional martial artist, but at this point, he must uphold the dignity of the martial art he represents.

Of course, if the opponent took out a gun, Yang Yi could kneel down without hesitation or shame and admit defeat, but as long as the opponent uses combat skills, Yang Yi had to fight to the end. Either he gets knocked down, or he knocks down his opponent; there is no third option. Truly none.
