Chapter 390 - 378 Declaration of Position
Watching a very familiar person becoming a corpse brings about an emotion that is not simply sorrow, because you know this person will now forever leave you, and all that remains is memory. Thus, beyond sorrow, there is a greater sense of reluctance to let go.
Yang Yi didn’t want to say anything; he just looked at Mike’s corpse, silently shed tears for a while, then he said to Chris and Hank, "You did well, I didn’t expect to get Mike and Charles back so quickly, and also... you did a great job, thank you."
Hank shrugged, then he pointed at Chris.
Chris stretched out his hand and said, "My pleasure."
Yang Yi took a deep breath and asked, "How did you do it?"
Chris spoke in a grave tone, "I thought it might not be necessary to steal, so I posed as a person from MI5 and entered Scotland Yard, forged a set of documents, and hardly encountered any obstacles. After receiving Mike and Charles, I felt... I felt there was nothing here, and everything needed should be prepared in the London metropolitan area, so I went to a funeral home, found the best mortician, showed him my forged documents, and promised him two thousand British Pounds. Then I bought the clothes they would be buried in, and also purchased the two best coffins available on short notice."
Yang Yi said softly, "Very good; you did very well."
What Chris did was very problematic because he impersonated a person from MI5, and he had met with Gary Keene. Furthermore, once MI5 discovered Mike and Charles’s bodies had mysteriously disappeared, they could easily trace it back to Chris.
Also, if the police discovered there was an issue with Chris’s identity but kept quiet and secretly informed MI5, accompanying him through the whole charade, then waited for Chris to buy coffins and such, after that period of time, MI5 would have had ample time to follow them to this rural villa.
So what Chris did was very risky, extremely risky.
Perspective is different from different standpoints. Chris wanted to prove himself, while Yang Yi was concerned about the safety of everyone involved.
