Unlike the conquered tribes or the subdued tribes, the Khan did not kill the chief or the influential people of the west

Instead, it seems more like he had reached some kind of understanding between them. Aeryon wanted an intact west.

Unlike any other rulers that would surely kills all of the chief and all of those influential people when he gained power, the way Aeryon sees the world is different from them and the ambition he wanted to achieve could not be achieved by devastating the west.

It is also probably of this reason that the Chagai chief could convince the Ultar tribe and the Nergui tribe.

Aeryon did not replace Chayun instead publicly confirm Chayun authority over the Chagai tribe.

At the meeting of the chiefs where all of the chiefs that is subdued and allied with Aeryon, Aeryon declare that Chagai tribe belongs to Chayun.

This is reasonable.

But for those who sees things clearly, it sends a powerful message.

Surrender does not mean losing everything, loyal chiefs can keep their people and their heads, other tribes now have a precedents and they can submit peacefully if they follow the example of the Chagai chief.

Setting a precedent.

Those who are wise could see the intention of the Khan.

Even in the past imperial power no matter how centralized was not truly centralized in the way the modern government centralized their power

This is because for any power to become centralized, it needed not only functioning well-oiled bureaucracy but also supervision power

It wasn’t until Aeryon try to implement some future methods he understood one thing. It is not that ancient were idiots and ignorant.

Their brains is the same and their ability to do things and think things are even more superior than modern human

But it is the circumstances and the era that limited them.

The structure of power does not like innovation and it is the consensus of the ruling class to keep the population ignorant

Great talents probably exists.

Maybe smart people who could have made the leap toward a future that is good for the common people but depending on their birth, their ideas could not be realized.

It is when Aeryon accepted this, he learns to compromise.

A child is domineering, an adult knows how to compromise.

That is the virtue of being adult.

Whether you like it or not, the path to advancement has always been about compromised.

As long as one could keep their bottom line, one could still compromise.

When it is time to fight for the important stuff, one must not hesitate

This steppe is quite similar to his world.

So, he had thought of treating it like the Steppe of his world

But the more he traverse this land and learn its culture, he also learn something else about this land.

But when he thought again about the world and then thought about how similar and yet how dissimilar this Great steppe is with the Great Steppe in his world, he decided to forge his own path

The Genghis Khan path could be tread by him but he could also make adjustment to it.

Because ultimately conquering the world is not all about killing.

No, it is about killing. But what Aeryon thinks about is also what happens if he could conquer it.

After conquering it, he needs to govern it.

An army that slaughter everything in its path would find that he is governing graves.

Without people there is no kingdom.

And Aeryon himself believe while he has his ambition, he must not forget what he wanted to do.

All of this is because the Yan would not allow the sons of Steppe to live.
