Chapter 349 - 345: The Unbearable Betrayal (Part 1)
"I don’t have any major health issues, I just need some sleep and I’ll be fine. Stay with me, I, I’m not warm enough."
So, was she asking him to warm the bed again?
Without a word, he took off his coat and lay down on the bed.
"Come here." He said to her.
Sophie lowered her head, thought for a moment, and still walked towards him.
Her skin was indeed very cold, very icy. His large hand covered her small hand, and she leaned into his arms, closing her eyes.
His chin rested on her head, and the tip of his nose gently sniffed the fragrance from her hair.
He could feel her body gradually warming up, and soon, he heard her steady breathing.
He gently got off the bed and tucked her in with the quilt.
"Young master, should I really not call the doctor?" Asher Land had just stepped out of the master bedroom when Nanny Garcia approached him.
"It shouldn’t be a big issue now. If she’s still like this in the morning, then call Doctor Lewis over." Asher Land said, then headed towards the study.
"Alright."
Nanny Garcia was just about to go downstairs but turned back after taking a few steps.
"Young master, you haven’t had dinner yet, have you? Should I have the kitchen prepare something to send up to the study?"
"No need, just send up a cup of coffee."
He sat at the desk, staring at the open computer, feeling distracted.
President Land, why not retrieve the surveillance? You’ll see if this has anything to do with Miss Smith, won’t you?
Robert Williams’ words from the day still echoed in his ears, but should he really do this?
He trusted her; she would never do anything to betray him.

The next day, Asher Land went to the company early again. Sophie ate a breakfast and saw Robert Williams walk in, but there was no sign of Asher Land behind him.
"Robert, where is Asher Land?" Sophie found it strange. Normally, Robert and Asher Land were almost inseparable.
"Why didn’t Asher come with you?" Seeing Robert silent, Sophie asked again.
"President Land asked me to come back for some documents." Robert said expressionlessly and headed towards Asher Land’s study.
About half an hour later, he came down, suspiciously without any documents in hand.
"Didn’t you find his documents? Is he in urgent need of them? Maybe you should call him..."
"Miss Smith." Robert interrupted Sophie, "I don’t know if you’re genuinely concerned about President Land or just putting on an act here, but let me kindly warn you, if you’ve truly done something against President Land, you won’t have good days ahead."
Robert, who had never had much interaction with her, was unusually straightforward. Could it be that he knew something?
Sophie’s expression stiffened, her eyes dodging.
Robert noticed the panic in her eyes but said nothing and walked straight out.
Her body felt as though it had lost its support, and she sat weakly on the sofa. What was meant to come, would come.
The reason Robert said those words must be because he knew something.
"Miss Smith, what’s wrong? You’re absent-minded." Nanny Garcia assumed she was feeling unwell again, "The young master said if you’re still feeling unwell this morning, we should call Doctor Lewis. Should I go ahead and call?"
"No need, Nanny Garcia."
Sophie’s nose felt a bit sour. Every member of the Land Family treated her so well, she couldn’t bear to imagine how they would see her if they discovered she betrayed Asher Land.
