Chapter 269 - 265: Don’t You Ever Learn? (Part 7)
"Don’t worry, he—he didn’t do anything to me..." Sophie Smith’s voice was so soft that she could barely hear herself, yet every word reached Asher Land’s ears.
He snatched her phone and smashed it onto the ground.
"What are you doing?" Sophie was a bit annoyed. Would he ever let her speak properly?
"I just wanted to explain to Senior Brother that I can’t take his project anymore. Is there any need for such behavior?" Her voice involuntarily grew louder.
"Ha, don’t think I don’t know. Wyatt Sterling has his eyes on you. You’re my woman. Whether I do anything to you is none of his business!"
"Don’t be unreasonable, okay? You’re being so aggressive today, of course people would worry about my safety!" Sophie found some courage from somewhere and started arguing with him.
Safety?
Asher Land let out a cold laugh, the woman’s tongue was indeed sharp. No matter how angry he was, he wouldn’t lay a hand on her, right. Oh, by the way, it was he who took a slap today!
"Don’t forget, who hit who today?"
Annoying, she really did slap him, but did he have to hold onto it like this?
Nanny Garcia heard their intense argument and stood worriedly outside the door, wanting to enter but not daring to.
She clearly heard the sound of things being smashed earlier. Would the young master really hit Miss Smith?
Thinking of that, Nanny Garcia hesitated no more and walked in.
Sophie, who was confronting Asher, felt a bit embarrassed as Nanny Garcia barged in.
"Young master, Miss Smith, are you alright?"
"We’re fine." Both answered almost in unison, but their expressions were equally unpleasant.
"Oh, as long as you’re fine, as long as you’re fine..." Nanny Garcia smiled awkwardly a couple of times, then quietly backed out, gently closing the door.
Sophie lay on the bed, pulling the blanket over her head, with her back to him.
Asher Land went to the bathroom, dried his hair, and was about to lie down on the bed as well.
Was he sure he still wanted to sleep with her tonight? She feared even in his dreams he might feel the urge to strangle her.
Without thinking much, she lifted the blanket and limped off the bed.
"Where are you going?" he asked in a deep voice.
"I’m going to sleep in the guest room, okay?"
"No."
"I’m injured now, what if you accidentally hurt me at night?" She spoke with a hint of unreasonable whining. She simply felt that both of them needed to calm down and it wasn’t appropriate to share a bed.
Asher Land looked at her plastered foot, his brow instinctively furrowing.
He sat up from the bed, bypassed her directly, and walked out. For a long time, he didn’t return to the room.
It seemed he was sleeping in the guest room.
Sophie didn’t think much of it, dragging her heavy leg back to bed, but then she remembered something and climbed off the bed again.
She picked up the phone from the floor, turned it back on, luckily it wasn’t broken.
She dialed Wyatt Sterling’s number again.
"I’m sorry, Senior Brother, the phone ran out of battery just now, so I didn’t continue our chat. I’m fine, don’t worry about me."
"Also, I’ve injured my ankle, I might not be able to do that project. Please find someone else, I’m really sorry..."
"..."
Sophie spoke many words in succession, but there was no response from the other side.
Could it be, Wyatt Sterling was also angry with her?
