Chapter 268 - 264: Don’t You Ever Learn? (Part 6)
"Yes, Young Master did speak harshly, Miss Smith, don’t take it to heart..."
Sophie Smith turned her head away, her eyes shimmering with tears.
Nanny Garcia had no mood to continue consoling Sophie either, as the steam hazed over her eyes, her mind a blank.
After taking a bath, Nanny Garcia helped Sophie sit on the bed.
"Miss Smith, wait a moment, I’ll call Doctor Lewis up here."
Sophie nodded, and just as Nanny Garcia stepped out, the door was pushed open. It was Asher Land, who had also just bathed, his hair still damp, wrapped in a black robe as he entered the room.
Sophie originally didn’t want to be alone with him, but her legs ached so much that she didn’t have the strength to move, let alone avoid him.
Doctor Lewis came over, adjusted her ankle, applied medication, and then secured it with a plaster cast.
"Miss Smith, you need to be careful. You must restrict your activities for the next two weeks."
"Two weeks?" Sophie felt uneasy, "I still have a film to shoot soon; won’t two weeks be too long?"
Asher Land clenched his fists. Even now, she’s obsessing over Wyatt Sterling’s film?
"Why still shoot? Just refuse the role," he said coldly from the side.
"One must have principles. Do you think I’m like you?" she replied blandly.
Was she indirectly calling him unprincipled?
"Say that again."
As the atmosphere between them grew tense again, Nanny Garcia and Doctor Lewis stood uneasily.
"Miss Smith, Mr. Land is concerned about you. Your ankle is dislocated, and a full two weeks’ rest is essential for complete recovery," Doctor Lewis said cautiously.
"Did you hear that?" Asher Land shot her a glance, speaking with annoyance.
"I heard..." She deliberately stretched her words. She wasn’t deaf—did she need his reminder?
Nanny Garcia found their exchange somewhat amusing, shaking her head as she left with Doctor Lewis.
Leaving the entire vast room with just the two of them.
"I’m telling you, even though I can’t act for these two weeks, once my leg’s better, I’ll immediately rejoin the crew. I won’t give up on Senior Brother’s film," Sophie said resolutely.
"You..."
Could she not say a few less words? He had been slapped by her, yet he still had to listen to her stand by Wyatt Sterling. Did she even know how mixed his feelings were right now?
"Don’t overestimate your importance. What makes you think the crew would wait two weeks for you for no reason?" he retorted.
Sophie’s eyes paused. Yes, why would they wait two weeks for her? The whole crew doesn’t revolve around her, coordinating a star’s schedule is incredibly difficult...
She felt somewhat forlorn, and after a long silence, she finally took out her phone and dialed Wyatt Sterling’s number.
The call was immediately answered even though she hadn’t organized her thoughts yet.
She sneakily glanced at Asher Land, who was staring at her intently, and a wave of panic suddenly rose in her heart.
"Senior Brother, are you alright?" she spoke cautiously.
The moment she spoke, Asher Land’s gaze darkened.
"I’m fine. How about you? Did he do anything to you?" Wyatt Sterling’s voice carried some anxiety; ever since he got home, he hadn’t been able to put her out of his mind for a moment.
"I’m, I’m fine too." She muttered. She didn’t dare to meet Asher Land’s eyes anymore.
"Did he do anything to you?" Wyatt Sterling pressed uneasily, needing her to give him an answer.
