Chapter 260 - 256: Asking Him for a Favor (Part 2)
He was momentarily stunned. Somehow, hearing her say she slept well made him unhappy.
After all, last night was nothing short of torment for him.
"Did you sleep alone last night?" She tried to calm her turbulent emotions as she asked, word by word.
What was this woman asking? She wasn’t by his side last night. If he wasn’t sleeping alone, who else would he be sleeping with?
"Yes, alone."
Sophie herself didn’t know what she was thinking. Suddenly, the room fell into silence. Asher Land furrowed his brow. The reason she asked this must have been because she heard some rumors earlier.
He got out of bed, walked over to her, and looked down at her.
"I did sleep alone last night. I’m very clean. Don’t let your imagination run wild and then accuse me unjustly."
There was a sincere emotion in his eyes. Sophie looked up into them and inexplicably nodded to indicate she believed him.
A slight smile tugged at the corner of his lips. Her trust was one of the things he most desired.
"By the way, there’s something I want to tell you." She spoke as if mustering up courage, organizing words in her mind, "I recently want to take a role in a TV drama, so I’m letting you know first."
Hmm, his woman was indeed becoming more obedient, even reporting things like taking roles to him now.
"I only have one requirement, and that is no intimate scenes with other men, not even kissing." He said seriously.
"That’s it?" Sophie asked uncertainly. It seemed like she found a loophole.
"Yes." He nodded. Seeing her so well-behaved, he decided not to trouble her. After all, she was an actress, and taking roles was understandable.
Sophie couldn’t help but feel secretly delighted. It seemed she didn’t need to beg him. He only said no intimate scenes with other men, but he didn’t forbid taking Wyatt Sterling’s role.
Seeing her lips curl upwards, he felt something was off.
"Are you hiding something from me?"
"No." She shook her head in denial.
"I dare you." His tone carried his usual arrogance. This man, ah, ...
Asher Land changed his clothes and went down the stairs with her.
"Young Master, Miss Smith." The servants bowed their heads respectfully.
Asher merely gave a casual "Hmm" and continued walking forward, holding her waist.
In the eyes of the servants, apart from their status and position, they were a perfect match. Walking together, they were a beautiful sight, impossible to look away from.
The young master’s personality was as cold as an iceberg, but Sophie seemed to carry a flame that could slowly melt his coldness.
The servants naturally hoped to see this. The previously cold and ruthless young master now had at least a bit of human warmth.
Both of them walked to the dining room, ready to eat, only to find Irene Morton already sitting there. Nanny Garcia, who had been talking to Irene, wisely stepped aside when she saw Asher and Sophie approaching.
Irene’s eyes were somewhat swollen and red, clearly from crying last night.
Sophie was genuinely curious, wondering what had happened between Asher Land and Irene last night.
Asher pulled out a chair, not directly looking at Irene, and sat down beside Sophie.
Already aware of the situation from Irene, Nanny Garcia, to ease the awkwardness between Asher and Irene, tried to speak up.
Under the same roof, Nanny Garcia didn’t want the two to be unhappy over this matter.
