Beyond Chaos – A DiceRPG

[1463] – Y06.363 – The Future of the United Kindom VIII

“I!” Jirot began, her face flushing a deep red, clenching her fists tight. However, as she threatened to break her father’s heart, her father was lucky he had married such a lovely wife, for her mother had raised her brows, her eyes tender with affection. “I do not like you.”

“J-Jirot!” Adam called out, the girl turning around, refusing to acknowledge him. He understood just how much he disappointed her, but it was best to finish with his work, especially when it considered two of the greatest forces in Aswadasad. “I’ll definitely bring you a great gift in return.”

The girl opened her mouth to reply, but she turned her head once more, for she was ignoring him. The half elf’s heart ached, but he held each of his children within his arms, and though Jirot ignored him, she at least let him hug her, and upon hearing her mother call her name, she turned and kissed her father’s cheek, for that much was acceptable, even if she was ignoring him. Virot looked towards her elder sister, furrowing her brows, turning to her mother, but upon seeing her mother’s raised brows, she leaned in to kiss her father’s cheek.

“…”

“…”

Adam nodded to Larot, who nodded in return, allowing the half elf to step away. The half elf greeted each of the children, embracing each so tenderly, saying his goodbyes to each, teasing them personally.

“Nirot, if you dare to bully your little brothers…” Adam held her gaze for a long moment because he realised he couldn’t threaten her that way, and Nirot realised it a moment later, so he held her gaze awkwardly. “I suppose, you can bully them a little.”

Gurot cackled at his cousin.

“Why are you cackling, she’s going to bully you,” Adam informed the boy, causing him to stop cackling for a moment, looking up towards his sister, who could see the hurt within his eyes.

“Just a little.”

“Little bit?” Gurot asked.

“Yes.”

“Okay!”

Kavgak held Adam’s hand for a moment, looking deep into his eyes. “Safe, okay?”

“Okay,” Adam promised.

“Okay?” Kavgak asked once more, holding up a finger, almost threateningly.

“Okay.”

“Good.” She motioned a hand to beckon him down and she kissed his forehead, brushing his hair gently, allowing him out of her almost motherly grasp.

“…”

Uli had heard the rumours about the Iyr and their children. They weren’t rumours, per se, for the Iyr never allowed anyone to kill their children without taking their revenge, sometimes subtly dealing with the perpetrators, but to think they had allowed Adam, who was not an Iyrman, to grow so close to these children.

‘He has been afforded such protections,’ Mulrot had informed the Black Lion. ‘Though he is no Iyrman, that tattoo means we consider him a great friend to the Iyr, though, to we of the Rot family, and to those of our shared families, of the Gaks, of the Ools, of the Kans, we consider him one of ours.’

Uli was certain, for this next century, Adam would be one of the names written in the history books, along the likes of Lord Asa of Ever Green. After travelling with the half elf for a few months, after seeing him work so hard even upon his return, after hearing all his offensive words, and his boyish dreams, Uli thought he understood the half elf to some extent.

‘Dangerous.’

“Adam,” Gorot called, readying himself to head to work. “You should take Taygak with you. “

“Taygak?” Adam called, having not expected he would take her. However, since his uncle had asked, he couldn’t refuse. “Okay.”

Taygak hadn’t expected to leave, the girl looking towards her aunt and uncle, to see if they would allow her to go, and with Iyrman efficiency, within a few minutes she was ready to step out, her armour gathered for the carriage.

“We’ll wait for you to put your armour on,” Adam said, and during the delay, he helped her siblings and cousins assist her with the various buckles and belts, cheering them on for assisting, delighting the children, and the teen.

‘At this, who can surpass you?’ Chosen thought, smirking slightly.

“Oh? You guys are coming too?” Adam asked, blinking towards Chosen and Tonagek.

“Can we not?” Chosen asked.

“If you want, you can,” Adam thought, considering how many more were coming along. However, a dozen or so people was fine enough, he assumed.

“Upon my return, I will begin your training,” Bael said, stopping Tanika from complaining.

‘Oh,’ Tanika thought. “Yes, Kal.”

“I shall bring you many gifts,” Bael said to a particular child. “Is there something you request?”

“Hmm…” Jirot mused. “I want spice.”

“Very well,” Bael promised, reaching down to ruffle the girl’s hair, feeling the sets of eyes which were ready to slaughter him where he stood, though would probably give him a moment to surrender to their justice.

With that, leaving behind a grumbling set of children, the group made their way outward.

“By the way, Jurot,” Adam began as their carriages rolled out. “I called it Seventh Sky this entire time, but I named it Gentle Sky in my book. Doesn’t Gentle Sky sounds a little cooler.”

“It does.”

“I’m going to call it Gentle Sky from now on,” the half elf said, then turned towards Uli. “Oh, Kal Uli, we brought a gift to donate to your Order. We’ll hand it over once we’re in Arisa, if that’s alright, that way you don’t have to carry it the entire way.”

“Thank you,” Uli replied, having not heard of the gift, though he wasn’t sure if he was allowed to accept the gift. He supposed it was fine as long as it was a gift they gave to the royal family for them to decide if it was acceptable.

“It’s not that great of a gift, sorry,” Adam apologised, chuckling lightly. “You know how it is, with the Reavers and everything.”

“Your thoughts are enough.”

“Yeah, I’ll send my thoughts and prayers too,” Adam replied, chuckling, noting Uli didn’t understand. Adam turned to look at Jurot, who raised a brow. “It was a good one.”

Jurot nodded, for apparently all the jokes Adam spoke which he didn’t understand were coincidentally the greatest, and considering the few times Adam had explained them, he understood how they could be decent.

The group made their way to business fort, which…

“Eh?” Adam thought, noting how the Iyr was already expanding it further, changing much of its layout once more. ‘At this point they’re trying to offend me. I bet it didn’t cost billions either…’

“What is wrong?” Jurot asked.

“The Iyr is pissing me off,” Adam replied, huffing lightly, flushing with embarrassment. Already, the half elf could feel the ache of leaving his children behind.

“…” Jurot considered his mother’s words.

‘When we leave with the children, you must stop Adam from wanton slaughter,’ Sonarot said.

Jurot was fairly certain the half elf would listen to him, but when it came to stopping him, there was a name which was greater. However, while they were out without the children, he would be able to stop the half elf from killing too many.

He glanced to one side.

Perhaps not?

As they approached the business, they checked with the group for a moment, Kitool dealing with the paperwork, before continuing on to the nearby village.

“Nobby, we’re going to be heading out,” Adam informed the young man.

“Okay.”

Merl narrowed her eyes slightly, annoyed the half elf was taking him away without warning, and so soon after he had returned too. However, seeing the half elf peeking towards the tiny babe within her arms, she decided to bully him only lightly for the transgression.

“What is her name?” Adam asked, as though he hadn’t been informed.

“Joy.”

“I’m beginning to sense a theme,” the half elf joked, beaming down at the little girl, who was so tiny, yawning lightly as she wished for slumber.

Merl couldn’t reply, instead noticing how the half elf was already beginning to spoil her within his mind, feeling the weight of Adam’s generosity press against her shoulders.

“Vasera, Rook, you’re coming along too,” Adam said.

“You do not wish for the entirety of the Golden Savages?” Vasera asked.

“Just you two this time, since the rest of you need to stay behind to protect the village,” Adam said, noting Vasera’s head turn. “Alright, alright, I get it, but we’re taking Nobby, so I need to keep someone from the business here, but if four of the Golden Savages can’t do it, I suppose I’ll just ask Laygak to take their place.”

“Fine, fine,” Vasera replied, grinning wide like a beast. “I assume you have brought the plate you wish for us to wear?”

“Of course I did,” Adam said, motioning towards Kitool, who held the dimensional hole, causing Vasera’s smile to falter slightly in sheer shock. “Put it on.”

Thankfully, magical items, those one would wear, sized themselves to the wearer, so dimensions did not need to be very accurate, so Adam hadn’t needed to take their sizes, however, it was still rather swift for the business to make plate so swiftly, unless he had made it previously?

Rook felt the tingle of magic, letting out a pleasant hum.

“Executive,” Vasera called.

“You should be happy, since not even I get to wear Greater armour,” Adam complained.

“Do you need Greater armour?” Rook mused, only to realise what the half elf said.

‘Did he say Greater?’ Uli thought, his eyes darting to the half elf in bewilderment.

‘Should I…’ Tonagek thought.
